I also want S&S couplers. My investigations have yielded incremental pricing on those to be $750 to $1,000.
Do you pack your bike a lot? I travel often and would like to take my bike with me if I...
Hi there. I am considering having a custom frame built (steel or ti).
I am on the smaller side, so I want someone who is going to be good at building a bike that is going to fit me.

Ultra-Swim works for me.
I was swimming 5 days a week for a while and ended up with brassy, crunchy, hair from the chlorine (and I have dark hair).
Ultra Swim helped a lot.
Also, the tip...
Oh, PHEW. Thank you. That is what I was hoping to hear. Intuitively, it didn't make sense that everything would have to be re-done, but I really didn't know.
I really don't want to drop that kind...
I think I need to swap from my current standard to compact gearing. (I just went on my first group ride in some hills and was just dying.) Anyhoo, I am trying to understand what sort of investment...
Thanks. It's always useful to hear what people's personal experience is and what worked for them.
Hi there.
I have entered a triathlon with some work-mates at the last minute... it's in 3 weeks.
It's a sprint, so I think I will be OK for the swimming and the cycling...and I can run a 5k...
I have had the same problem. The part that gets me is the seatpost attachment (not the sides).
I wrap it up in electrical tape. It's so stretchy and sticky it works well to make a smooth fix....
Wow, thank you for your thoughtful replies. I am definitely up for finding something used on CL or ebay. This does not have to be the bike to end all bikes (that was the road bike, ahem) but it just...
Oh, thank you. I will look at your suggestions.
(The Campy really is not a deal-killer. Just a wish, if possible, which I am now thinking is not gonna happen.)
Thanks for your replies. Roguedog, it does not have to be Campy, though that would be nice.
If I bought a frame, or even went sans-campy and bought a whole bike (possibly my preference because...
Hi there. A while back I posted a question about buying a road bike and fit and I got some great information from this forum. (Thank you.)
I have since bought the road bike --- it fits great and...
I am in Europe and am bike-shopping right now. When I ask about WSD, everyone's whipping out the Specialized / Cannondale brochures.
That being said, I am short like Papaver and that could be...
Thanks, aicabsolut. That's helpful.
It's good to hear that carbon is not *that* fragile. I have had a few bike stores tell me not to get one because they'll break, but it could be because they...
Thanks, both of you, for your input.
Zia, did your immediate "comfort" on the new bike translate to long-term comfort? Also, out of curiosity, have you done a triathlon on your new bike?
Hi there. I have a newbie question for the more experienced crew out there. It concerns fit and finding a bike. I'd like to hear what women have to say about this....
I’d appreciate your input.
