Congrats on your new bike!
I'm still worrying, though, especially after reading all the other posts. I looked up the geometry of the bike and the standover itself is longer than your inseam. I...
Aww, that was lovely and hilarious at the same time!
Hi! Sorry for the late response, but this month is going to be crazy for me.
I tried out the first week and I'm fairly happy with how their videos and their explanations of exactly how the drills...
Trying to progress beyond Total Immersion technique, since it gives you the basic building blocks but does not really allow for "faster" swimming. (Please note that I am very happy with Total...
Congrats! It's always important to have fun in these things.
Can't go wrong with the doggy sidecar :)
Congrats! Looks like a lovely bike. I wouldn't worry too much about gearing; that should be fine for most of your needs.
My bike fitter said that ideally you should change your hand position...
They are in the finalization stage, from what I understand. Those who donated $250 to the development will receive the first batch before they are placed on the market.
It looks like it has a...
Bumping.
I am actually in your area, but usually ride with my husband.
There are plenty of local bicycle groups that have varying difficulties of rides - you should be able to find one in your skill level....
As a beginner, I really prefer the 30 minute race. The price difference doesn't bother me as during that extra 15 minutes of racing I'm most likely hanging out with other people or partaking in the...
Second the trainer idea - although I'm not sure if you have to keep the sweat out of your eyes too? Probably, but you can go lightly on the trainer.
Also, is there a time limit on this century? ...
I believe that the Shimano Tiagras and Soras shift like Campagnolos, with a separate thumb shifter. I don't remember how large the hoods are. However, 105s and above use the 2:1 shifting, which is...
My friend dropped off some homemade ice cream earlier this week. Consequently, I am still at my weigh-in despite exercising
Actually, I took my cyclocross onto the single track last weekend. It's quite common at my park, apparently. There were bits and stretches that I could not pass, such as a very steep uphill with...

My favorite line is: “It’s designed so even the very best bike rider can only go so fast.”
I got all excited, but couldn't find the actual product. Then I found this site:

Now I am sad. Why did...
Good morning fall, how nice of you to visit this morning on my run. Good thing my cold gear stuff arrived yesterday.
Did 3.5 miles at 6mph pace.
Congrats on your 5k race Deb! And woohoo for...
I second the little green machine. Not sure about the other stuff. My bunny can't control his bodily functions right now because of cancer, but I've found that plain white vinegar will clean it up...
Oh hey, another Michigander. Congrats on your new bike!
And definitely get a bike fit - I'll be going back for one too since problems tend to crop up only after you've been on the bike for a bit.
Don't get hung up on the Ultegras - 105s are fine, and if in the future you do feel the need to upgrade, the cost of one or two components is much less than finding a brand new frame that will fit...
I'm still using 1991 Look pedals :P Honestly prefer the 0 float and clip-in is very easy.
Have a nook, the original. The e-ink is a lot easier on my eyes for prolonged reading and it's very handy since I'm out of space in my condo. :o
There are different degrees to which you must twist your feet out to unclip for different pedals, I think... although 15 degrees twisting seems common. Have not done a lot of research on this.
