Easy to get on the MUP from Sibley... just bike north on Washington Street to Burleigh Avenue, where the trail starts. Two fun options, or you can combine into one ride with a little backtracking....
If you'd like some trail suggestions in Bismarck, let me know. The two nearest campgrounds are General Sibley in SW Bismarck and Ft. Abraham Lincoln State Park south of Mandan... both are on or close...
Gore and Canari both have excellent convertible jackets, as does Louis Garneau. I do like my Sugoi, though, as it uses magnets rather than zippers, and scrunches down small enough to fit in my...
Welcome to Bismarck! PM me if you will be in the area longer and want a riding companion.

Rubylvr, I like the idea of a piece of riding gear as a reward every 5 lbs! Think I'll adopt that idea, with a new pair of bike shoes and clipless pedals being my first two goals.
I'm down 1.6 lbs...
I started with the electronic version, but found it hard to read the training plan tables on my e-reader. Sooo, ended up buying a hard copy of the book too.
I ignored the total rest day and did a leisurely two-hour ride this afternoon. It got up to 77 today, and we won't have many more days like this in ND until spring! My starting weight is 143 (ten...
I'll join you. I've read this book several times but in all fairness, haven't followed her plan. I'll have to adapt it to the trainer soon though, as the weather is turning lots colder here.

Good catch. I just went out and checked mine, which is the 2009 Carmel 3 model and is not listed on the recall. Haven't ridden it for a couple of years since I got my road bike, but keep thinking I'm...
You might ask the different LBSs what they have for financing. My Specialized dealer was offering a 6 month no interest plan last year.
There's a "TDF for Dummies" book available. It's on Kindle if you use one. Also, the early morning show does have the predictions... which I agree are fun.
Did you see how effortlessly George...
ROFL! Think I could train my Old English to hop on back?
Two guides... usually they switch off with one riding sweep and the other driving the sag wagon/preparing lunch. There are just ten of us signed up last I heard. This is the second WT trip I've...
Womantours suggests $7-$12/day gratuity per guide, depending on your satisfation level. I'm doing their Moab tour next week... super excited although the temperatures (90 on our first day's ride)...
Just a thought...I popped about 4 tubes after having new Armadillos installed. Turned out to be a defective tire with a super-rough area that was puncturing the tubes.
Know what you mean about laces getting caught in the chain! That's one of the nice things about these PI bike shoes... that grey patch at the end of the tongue is actually a stretchy "lace garage"...
I have them... got them from TE last summer to use on a fall bike tour. So far I've been wearing them without the cleats installed, but like having that option for down the road. They are comfortable...

134.8. Spare tire seems to be shrinking.

136.2. Down with a head cold last week so didn't weigh in until today.
I started Weight Watchers today rather than continuing to count calories. I like the idea of being able to munch on fruit...
Nuts, back to 136.4.
I know it's harder to lose weight at 61 than it was at 21, but really. I've revamped my diet and exercise plan to include some regular kettlebell and hand weight sessions......
135.4 this am with a goal of 129.
Count me in too! Sure would like to get below 130 by spring.
Current-136.4
Goal--129
