I'm 5'3" and ride my 46cm Specialized Tricross on the C&O Canal, easy singletrack, gravel, city roads, country roads, you name it. My old Tricross was a 49cm and I had to have fit modifications done...
Is DB still around?
We used to arrange rides like this all the time. I remember conversations about that sort of concern back when I used to post here more frequently, though. Has it ever actually happened to anyone?
So what time-frame works for you on the 25th, 7? Is there a time that would be too early or too late?
Does that day work for anyone else?
And have folks here started using real names...
May 25th sounds good to me. I'll have had a chance to take the bike back in for a fitting between now and then, too.
Do the other ladies still check in here, or should I/someone send out an e-mail...
I dunno. I'm away this weekend and need another ride or two to get over being saddle-sore, so sometime in May?
Still getting used to both the dimensions of the new bike and the new saddle (and a sad dearth of exercise over the last several months), but once everything's broken in I should be able to keep up...
Resurrecting an old thread instead of creating a new one...
I'm toying with the idea of re-locating to Nashville. I've been several times and love the city for multiple reasons, but haven't had...
I went and more or less found it (or at least the section it's in) this past summer. The new aqueduct really looks terrific.
Thanks, DB. And congrats on finally getting yours, I'm looking forward to seeing it this spring! How could they miss something as basic as the length of the seat post?
Thanks! Just got a call from the shop that it's in and I can pick it up any time. Darned shame I'm stuck at work.
The bike might excel in winter, but I don't ;)
So much for shopping around. My heart apparently still belongs to the TriCross because I put a down payment on the order of a 2013 model in 46cm. Went to a new shop up in Baltimore (I know one of...
I would be if I had a bike... :(
Might hit some shops tomorrow &/or Monday to begin looking. Y'all have fun!
Thanks, Kathy. That's a darned good price, but 50cm might be pushing it. I considered a Cross Check a couple years ago and talked about it with the guy who fit my Specialized. He said the head...
Yeah, in looking again at the TriCross, I think I would go with the next model up that has 105 components. I had upgraded my stolen TriCross from Sora to 105 just this past spring, dammit.

Thanks again, y'all, I'll add All American to my list. Just looked at the 2012 Tri-Cross Sport at Specialized's site (I had a 2006 of the same model) and really like it. They've upgraded from canti...
^^ Thanks :)
Thanks for the tips, 7. Like you said, Crofton's not too far for a day-trip so I'll keep 'em in mind.
I think the thief/thieves had seen my bike through the window of my...
H'llo, strangers, long-time/no-post. Question for y'all-- My apartment was broken into this past weekend and my bike was stolen, so I'm in the market for a new 'cross bike. Been a looooooooooong...
Shame I dont' check in here more often... I rode the newly opened section of the C&O (for the second time) on the 11th. They did a damned fine job of rebuilding and it's gorgeous up thataways.
Day 1 after a crash on the C&O Canal towpath--

By day 3, it was like an alien that took over my leg--

Dunno if he's prepared for sandblasting, but that certainly makes more sense than steel wool. Thanks, all. If anyone has any more recommendations, keep 'em coming :)
Bah, I'm sorry I missed this post.
Simichrome sounds more like what he needs, but this page mentions that it leaves a protective film. Would that create issues with the application of the clear coat?
