Congratulations on the lovely bike and a belated happy birthday! I think that I like my presents to myself best since I always get exactly what I want - lol - and what's better than a bike right? ...
I saw this article (from Bicycle Retailer) today and was astonished: http://bikeshopgirl.com/2011/10/booth-babes-at-interbike-are-a-turnoff/
I suppose that's also partly because I have this notion...
Precisely. There is no justification for driving a suv in London as far as I can see.
ETA: Sorry, I should have indicated in my previous post that I was being ironic
They're pretty common in London and I believe other UK cities too and it's got nothing to do with potholes. Most never even get dirty.
Horse chestnuts. They're all over the ground at the moment, especially in parks and on tree lined streets. Defintely to be avoided when you're going downhill at speed on skinny tyres.
Good for you hebe. Now that the school term has started again I'm back to dodging the school run 4x4s pulling over without signalling and car doors opening on my commute to work. On a positive...
@Brandi & Biciclista - Thanks for making me nearly choke on my coffee due to laughing.
Definitely. Bravo.
We're having wonderful weather and yesterday was a perfect day for a ride. Joined a local cycling club for their Sunday regular and discovered that I'm just a 40 minute ride away from lovely green...
Brilliant! Thanks.
LOL at both. We're supposed to log all requests for IT assistance on a specific webpage or email the department on a dedicated email address, which is a bit of a challenge when your system crashes...
Nice videos all. Really enjoying this thread – both the rides and the creativity. Thanks bellissima for starting it. The mountain biking ones make me wonder if it's too late for me to learn. I...
l2c, I like the picture of the trike with the Dahon in it!
Yup, you can go pretty fast on a Dahon speed pro TT and some of its other models. My Dahon, which is on permanent loan to a friend, is a fun little bike for leisurely commuting and cafe rides - not...
Biciclista, really pleased to read your post. Your husband sounds like a remarkable person and I hope that he makes a speedy recovery. I've admired your strengh and spirit throughout this difficult...
Catrin,
I'm very sorry to hear this and am hoping for the best. Keep well.
Indeed. There is no reason why we can't do the same thing here or anywhere else. Many campaigners have argued this for many years and continue to do so but progress has been slow and as you point...
Thanks for sharing this. The Dutch and Danes are miles ahead of the rest of us. I just hope that our city planners and government start to follow their example.
By the way, this article...
Oh, she'll love that. I'm going to tell her about that one last. We both live in London. Thanks hebe.
Fantastic. Thank you everyone for the information and suggestions. It shouldn't be too difficult to find/test ride Specialized, Trek and Kona bikes though she's keen on this one: ...
My apologies for having to ask some pretty basic questions. I have a friend who wants to start cycling again and she would like a bike with a step through frame. She's particularly keen on a mixte...
indysteel, sorry to hear that your boy's been poorly but hopefully he's on the mend now.

Just seen this and I'm going to borrow it for a while. There are others that I can't find right now.
I couldn't agree more with laura*. Cable locks are virtually useless on their own against a half competent London bike thief who will get through it in under a couple of minutes. Bike theft is a...
