Hey saraspins! We picked up our little 24 incher yesterday afternoon. My son exclaimed, "It's a mixte! YES!" For reference on size, my little man is 51" tall.

Oh that bike is lovely! I'd definitely try leaving a note!
Meli's "Frenchie" is an Astra, if I'm not mistaken.
Isn't it though! It's a three speed.
Thanks
Yes. As far as I can tell (Peugeot's are a little hard to date), it's a '74 French made model. The swoopy top tubes were only sold in Europe from what I understand so this made it across the lake...
My newest aquisition....sigh (heart going pitter, patter)....:D

Sorry just a link but you can read and see all about it on my...
These are great! I just put a tiny 24" mixte on hold this morning and we'll fix it up for my kids.
Love this thread. I can't bake to save my life but my husband is an excellent bread baker, he's excellent at everything in the kitchen which is good since he's a sahd and the house is his domain! ...
E-Bay and thrift stores are my favs for cycling clothing which I wear on rides where my goal is a workout. For commuting and around town I wear whatever I'm wearing.
I am fortunate to have...
Butter. Poached. Beef. OH MY!!! <drool>
Cool! I love the wood in the basket. Just adds a nice little touch of class.
That's where I got the idea...except mine is a regular $15 Wald with $5 worth of wood and stain. :D
Knog has one that I just bought and gave away in an employee alternative commuting weekly raffle. I think it was the "old dog" or something like that.
My husband does the cruiser ride but it's not really my thing. I love a drinnk or two but there are just too many drunks at that event for my tastes. I guess I'm getting old. :D
I serve on the...
Couple thousand miles+ on my road bike with Tiagra and it's fine. Shifts smooth, rides smooth. I'm glad I chose the bike that felt best over the bike with the "better" component group. The fact...
Congrats!
I've used WW a few times. First to get that stubborn last 30 pounds off after my dd was born. I'd gained 50 pounds with both pregnancies but with my son, it all melted away on it's...
Just a note on cleat position. I've been roadbiking for over 20 years (with a seven year break in there) and never had any problems. Last year, as I was getting ready to do my first metric century...
I'm generally a lone rider out of choice. It's my "me" time. But once and awhile I like to ride with a group and I've not had any luck finding folks who just want to ride around the metro trails -...
Honestly, I'd try and be patient for the right bike. A poor fitting bike will always be a poor fitting bike. I know it's crazymaking to wait, I did for over a year, but so worth it!
Thanks!!
My weekend project is to make an early 70's Samsonite shoulder bag into a pannier for another mixte I'm fixing up (a 74 Raleigh). It's super mod! Did you just use leather for reinforcement? Lots...
Don't foret the pearls!!!
OK, I just had to post another shot of my mixte, from today when I got home from work.

I have a B17s on my commuter and it's been comfortable since day one. I have a B66 on my mixte and it's OK, but not as comfy as the B17. I think I need to play with the positioning a bit and...
I use PowerGrips on my regular commuter and clipless on my road bike, and riding my mixte sans foot security is making me nuts. Has anyone used half-clips and do they really help? I really don't...
Lovely! Tell us about the seat bag and basket.
