Why, thank you! People here in NYC aren't taking the bait, though...maybe the recession has hit everyone a bit harder than planned?
Hi there,
Didn't even get a chance to rack over 900 miles on this baby! Selling because I never joined a road team (the whole reason for buying it in the first place). I bought this new in 2008...
Hi there,
Worn less than 150 miles! Selling because they were never a proper fit. If you're interested, I can send you the Craig's List link to see the full ad. I prefer pickup so you can try them...
My mountain-biking brother told me to scoot my butt up to the tip of the seat, keep my head sort of down and push down with my legs. I did this on my loaded tour of the coast, and it helped me...
hahaha, those are GREAT photos! Loved the title, too. You're lucky she didn't set her eyes on the peeping Tom with the camera next! :D
I used the "Dream" Camelback on my tour, but I'm looking for something a little more sleek. I looked at the company's web site, but are there any road cyclists out there who can give me their opinons...
Hi Lisa,
I actually just finished a loaded tour that took about 6 weeks,so I have lots of muscle...which I'm sure is slowly depleting since I've been off the bike for so long!
Yes, one park by...
http://www.bianchiusa.com/06_volpe.html here are the specs to the bike. I'm going to go online to see how much these components may end up costing. Any more advice would be appreciated, thanks!:D
Just to add my opinion here...
When I went on a long tour this summer, most people dealing with flats had Kevlar beads that would fray and puncture the tube. Has anyone else noticed this?
You know, my shoes made noise too sometimes! Maybe I was just breaking them in? And yes, they did get a little wet!
I had this problem when I rode both unloaded and loaded on my tour. When I was in granny gear, the gears would jump off the cog, leaving me with the possibility of a broken chain.
Turns out it was...
What are your thoughts on swapping out a few components on a touring bike (Bianchi Volpe) to make it more like a road bike? I'm not looking to race competitively, just increase my speed while I loop...
I'm a new high-school English teacher. I accepted a position in an inner-city school in New York. I have heard the worst stories you could possibly imagine regarding our schools. They're terrible....
Thanks for the advice--I assume it's better to have an instructor show you proper form, rather than just rely on a video, right?
Has anyone tried pilates for cyclists? I'm unable to find the DVD, but I really would like to learn core-strengthening exercise!
As I become closer and closer to my older brother, I could only imagine the pain of losing him. :( I'm sorry you lost yours, Denise.
I used the Diva cup on my summer tour and will never go back to tampons or pads ever again! Only once did I have trouble removing it b/c I put it in too far, but it still came out. I also find that...
Thanks, Blueskies! Yes, reflections...I have decided to wait until December to really sit down and write a page on what the trip has meant, how it has changed things, etc. I'll be sure to send out a...
LOL, yup, I'm done. It was an amazing experience, so keep readin' that journal!!
Thanks for all the compliments...I hope everyone can experience a tour of their own...it really does change your perspective on things.
Aw, LOL, I too know the addiction of touring journals!! :D
Hey ladies! I just completed my tour from Canada to Mexico. I kept an online journal at www.crazyguyonabike. If anyone would like to read about the joys and pain, along with looking at some very nice...
Yeah, I agree with only changing things when you need to. If your chain is stretched and causing shifting problems, then change it out. If the teeth on your cogs are all bent out of whack, change it....
Yeah, I hear ya...but I was in a neighborhood where I stuck out like a sore thumb and could have easliy pictured myself getting attacked by more than one person.
