so good, and so good for you!
FishJr is excited and really starting to get nervous now. We're going to put her name in all of her school stuff this afternoon. I'm curious to see how wierd it's going to be with Mr. Fish. He'll only have her brother home with him now. I'm sure his days will be easier, but he'll miss having her there. I'll be at work, so time will pass more quickly for me.
I just bought tickets for the Be Good Tanyas who are coming to Scotland in November - they are Canadian and one of my favourite groups. I've heard Neil Young and Joni Mitchell are quite good too. :DQuote:

Bruno - yeah, but you have to catch up by reading the entire thread. ;)
Did Beta ever get through it?
I think poor Beta is buried somewhere on page 50. Bruno, if you see her, please guide her out.....
I went out and bought new towels and rugs for the bathroom. I hate them. Ugly, ugly, ugly. Back to Bed Bath and Beyond.
Oh, and there's a test. If you start reading now, you'll get to the part about the test in a week or so. Just take notes. That's all I'm saying. :DQuote:

Fish--you sending the minnow off to school made me picture your mom, lo these many years...now you with a PhD and your fishlet on her way to begin the adventure. I'm happy for you.

The school supplies are all packed up and labeled. I've ironed her clothes (that won't happen often) and the camera is ready. She's currently standing on my bed singing her heart out. Fishfry is sitting on my lap with his blanket. Life in my house. FJ is looking forward to getting homework. Problem is - I'm not sure she's going to get any. We told her we'd buy her a new workbook and she can do that every afternoon.
Ooh - this thing in my lap has started to smell a little funky (Fishfry... not the blanket). Be back in a bit. Fun.
No kidding, CWR. Ugh.Quote:

...oh, wait, I hate the job, too.
*clings to CWR's leg* Help! I wanna go somewhere I like!
Kitsune - do you have any other job prospects? Those hours sound lousy, especially if you don't like the job to begin with.
Snap, I went to a kitchen store yesterday to buy something for Secret Sis. I also spent $40 on new oven mitts and potholders. I love them!! I don't think I've had new kitchen stuff since I moved to Florida in 1998. My towels, though...BF has some sweet towels, just for him. Big and soft and cuddly Egyptian Cotton. I like a bath sheet, such as from Company Store, and a pretty small low-pile bath towel for my hair.
Speaking of 1998, I am tasting a Reserve Rioja from 1998. I am not impressed. I must be a young wine only liker. I'm not that into the old leather, pepper, dust, coffee taste. Give me wild overbearing fruit any day.
So while I was at Sam's Club, I scored a Muscat dessert wine from Australia, a Temperanillo rose, from Spain, a California Chard I hadn't heard of, imagine that, and a Riesling from Australia. Also about eight dinners. We're having lasagna tonight.
I took the torts out to graze, but it began raining. 81F and raining here, 87% humidity.
I rode 30 miles with my group. I caught a Rough Green Snake! Picture to follow some day! This is the only green snake in Florida, very sweet, likes to climb trees, never bites. In less than five minutes it was so calm anyone could hold it just by letting it crawl through their fingers- no need to grasp on to it. Released back into the tree.
I found out a girl in my group has left her husband. MWBR. She has lost a ton of weight, I noticed today. Her jersey is hanging on her. You can see what her face is supposed to look like. Lucky. She rode 50 miles today. I love seeing people's mileage go up. I hope she loves riding. She's the group's TDF expert.
It's really raining now.
I had a three hour nap.
I think I'll go watch Seinfeld.
New saddle should be here Wednesday or Thursday. Fish, you have it, right? Is yours 2005 or 2006? Are the shorts you don't love the Shebeast pretty expensive ones that I got, but didn't keep?
I'm still loving the RS Flexes. I should buy another pair before they are changed. I suspect they are changing the fabric. I wish Susan would tell us what exactly is being changed. I love the light fabric. I heard rumors that it didn't hold up well- spontaneously disintegrated or something. I haven't had mine long enough to comment.
I spent two years as an Administrative Assistant and was pretty good at it. It was a little dull (typical office job) but I really liked that I could settle into what I was doing and just do my job or just do what my mgr told me, without having to worry about this, that, or the other thing... that and the hrs and pay were way better. =PQuote:

The worst part about my job is that my DPITA works morning shifts generally, so if I don't see her for an hour before work, the only time I do see her is for a couple hour overlap while we're sleeping or a little on our one shared day off. *sigh*
So... yeah. Since I spend 8+ hrs a day behind a desk, glued to the computer and radios so I can start firing off pager messages etc in case of a chemical spill or injury, I tend to always have this window open and another for job hunting. Yay.
Nanci- I'm with you. I can enjoy the leather/oaken/peppery flavors, but only in moderation. I *really* like the fruitjuicey ones, or just straight out mead. There are people who would laugh at me for saying I like hard ciders and Zima, but I just like the flavor and a mild fuzz... strongly flavored wines and beers I *really* have to be in the mood for... Hefeweizen, though...;)
Oh, so that's why I don't wear these bike shoes.
I can clip in but not out  Good thing the ride is inside while watching the game. It's freaking gorgeous outside but much to do so rode inside. In this case....good thing
Off to plant some begonias.
Gotcha on the morning/night. Sucks.
DPITA worked nights 8 hr 4/3 split for years. We had 2 nights and 2 weekends together a month. Yech. That was a rough spell. She got switched to 12 hr 3/2 split, which was much better.
