Thanks for asking Lise! I'm feeling better every day. My bruises are looking quite awesome - nice tones of yellow and green. Very nice under the fluorescent lights at work. When I bend my right knee, the entire thing is bruised. It's hard to see that when it's straight.

I told the story a gazillion times at work today. Hopefully that will end tomorrow. My mind is doing better. I felt a bit more like normal today. I'm going to wait until Saturday to ride/run. I had my occupational health surveillance program checkup today and told the doc about my crash. He said that I very likely did have a concussion. I figured taking a week off after that would not be a bad idea. Saturday morning I ride!!!!! I keep looking at my new PI shoes and say good morning to my bike when I go through the garage. It's getting to be time to get back on and ride!

I hope you have an easy on-call night.

I grew up watching the original ST - from about my daughter's age. The old Klingons did look a bit different. At least they didn't have a pretty bob-cut like Warf. I never liked that look for him.

Yeah, I always thought Worf should have snake-like dreadlocks or something. Remember the "Trouble With Tribbles" episode from the very first season of ST? That's when the Klingons looked like Saudi Arabian royalty.

Photo guy wrote back with about three paragraphs of questions about recovery. We shall see.

He wasn't convicted, he accepted a plea bargain. The discussion boards on the RAAM site have some "guest" posters talking about Boyer too. A few of his friends, and someone who works in the Monterey Co. DA office (where he accepted the plea bargain) all support him. Knowing someone personally that was wrongly charged as a sex offender, I try to keep my mouth shut until I hear all sides. Wish others would too.

Long post but i feel like typing

Urhgth...I've been wandering around my house for the last 40min or so searching for my extra bike light...

The nightflux one i have on my roadie is going to burn out in an hour and i need another light to get me home or so...I've no clue where i left it and hate only riding for 40min as it's there's no point..Ian's not home tonight to make a light up for me-even if it was heavy i'd still go...(he makes bike lights and the night i'd like one he's not home...)

I came home ready to do a 2 1/2hr ride but i'll have to wait until tomorrow night i guess...

I am struggling to see at night even with the lights i have...Nanci do you have the cateye Double shots????

ONe more thing nanci...i'd like to do long distance rides with Audax (randoneurring in aust) but i know there are no shoulders on most of the hwys in Western aust (even if there were it would just be pea gravel) & i;'d have to contend with road trains (not sure what you call them in the states but transport trucks with two or even three trailers). Any advice???

Did you find the light? That's very cool that Ian makes bike lights. I know what you mean about being limited by time on a bike ride. I hate having to think, "I have to be home by such and such a time". That's the bike-riding little kid in me. :)

I think it's morning now where you are...i'm off to bed soon so i can get up & join the group run in the morning...have to make up for not biking this evening...

Never did find the light..I have no idea where i put it...:confused:

Ian started making lights a few months ago...The batteries are wayy too heavy for me however we're working on it...I told him i'd try one & now that i have a MEC hydration pack (friend went to Canada & brought me back some items...) the battery may fit in it....HOwever-if it's still not what works for my eyes, we'll look at the cateye double shots..

I just find it really hard to focus at night...the streetlights on my fave cycle route make it worse-i often can't see corners & go much slower-but i still go anyways...night vision goggles wouldn't go amiss...

I just alternate two Cateye Microhalogens that I got for $9 each. They work great, have about a three hour burn time each, and I can really see no reason to get a more expensive light if these are ok. Actually, I have four- so I don't have to be switching batteries during the day. I numbered them with a permanent marker. So I use 1 and 2 in the morning, then 3 and 4 at night, and if night's going to be really long, then I replace the batteries in 1 and 2 during lunch. It's easier to just swap out the light in its mount than change batteries when I'm really tired.

I don't know what to say about the trucks, except wear a super-reflective vest, have several red LED taillights, make yourself impossible to miss. The roads I ride on are so rural it's very rare to see a semi. I guess I'd probably get off the road if they are crowding you. I guess that depends on how much oncoming traffic there is- if they can get in the other lane.

I feel bleh today. Headache, tired. My office was 78 with no air circulation today. 78 doesn't sound bad, but it was like an oven in there! It's like that everyday lately, but today bugged me more. Just having one of those days. I need to ride! But - waiting to feel better first.

My house is 84F with the AC running full blast...Feels pretty cool to me.

I had a pretty CF day at work today. My other tech wasn't watching the student, so every time I'd leave for two seconds, something would get effed up. Didn't get out of there till 4:30. But- the OT will help pay for the ticket.

BF said the cop who wrote me the ticket would have let me go if I had name-dropped BF's name. Exactly how do you do that??? Hi, I'm special, because my BF works with you. Who gives a cr*p you say? Ok, now I am REALLY embarassed...Yeah, can't see myself doing that.

BF and I drank a $22 half bottle of my most beloved wine ever last night. The fourth bottle I've had of it, and we have one left. There were only 1000 bottles bottled. Three Sisters Dahlonega Gold. Vidal Blanc dessert wine. Oh my.

I bought my first bottle of Chateauneuf du Pape tonight. I'm afraid to drink it. It's Grenache, Cinsault and Syrah, 55/25/20. The huge wine store only had two kinds, so I picked the cheap $20 bottle...I am curious. I love Rhone wines, so I should love this. Plus, when you ask a wine snob what their favorite wine is, this is quite often the answer. But, of course, obscure French wines are not in my database, so it's a total cr*pshoot. But I figure, if the giant wine store only has two kinds, they both must be pretty good, wouldn't you think?

BF is at some concert I wasn't interested in- so- quality time with the torts and Mr. Bird!!! I love evenings when I am on my own, at least till I go to bed.

My SS stuff is almost ready to go. Just needs wrapping now. I don't think she reads this thread, but who knows. So if it's you- I'm sorry I'm such a procrastinator- but you're getting a really cool present!! I even snooped through all your posts, so I could have inside info on what snack you'd totally love. Or, maybe not! As I was saying, I am so smart!! I just cooked my Michaelangelos Ciabatta Bake for 20 minutes at zero degrees!! (While I was defiantly shaving everything!!)

We keep our house at 80F, but for some reason my office at 78 feels more like 90. Maybe 'cause there's no air moving. The guy next to me has ice cold air coming out of his vent! I have a corner office, so maybe I'm at the end of the loop and the walls and window make it hotter. I don't know. All I know is that it's yucky!

I was wondering how long it would take you to shave all that ;)

Enjoy dinner - once it gets cooked. We're having leftover spaghetti - FishJr requested it. Maybe I should call her Fry. That would better suit her brother.

Well, it sure didn't take 20 minutes!! Leftover spaghetti sounds wonderful. Anything that isn't the same old thing (like the last two nights' potroast) sounds wonderful.

I was just thinking, you know when you've worn your panties for the absolute last time, when they aren't even fit to be period underwear any more? Do you wash them one last time, or throw them directly in the trash? I wash mine! Is that weird?

I was also thinking, do boy shorts only look good on women who have butts like Tour de France riders? (tiny) I probably already know the answer to that.
