but maybe should have...
Mango and OJ blended with strawberries, blueberries and some frozen vanilla yogurt.
A great mid morning snack. Okay, so I eat a chocolate chip cookie too.

Way to go. Now I want a peach smoothie for lunch to go with the remaining NY Super Fudge Chunk (which I blame on all you TE wimmen as I didn't know about it before).
Hey... I had to counteract the hot dog I ate for lunch with some fruit.
Where does mustard fit in the food groups? It comes from a seed and has vinegar, which comes from grapes, so it counts a fruit, right? :p Ketchup of course is a vegetable.
V.
Guess it would depend where that vinegar came from ... we had bananas that sat on the fridge so long they turned to vinegar once. Do seeds count as nuts?
I need to know what food group a large (homemade) Rice Krispy treat fits into.
Well, a homemade rice crispy treat comes from the YUMMY FOODGROUP of course!:D
Isn't rice considered part of the grain family and egg whites . . . duh! It's completely healthy. And, it's non-fat.
Was it made with butterscotch chips or plain marshmallow?
I haven't made rice krispy treats in ages. I wonder how well they sit...
Certainly grains and maybe dairy.
V.
No chips. I am a purist. I think there is grain and maybe even some calcium.
Seriously this is the best thing I have ever eaten in my life.
How about Crunchy Cheetos and a Red Bull? Where do they go?
V.
Cheetos have to have some form of carrot in them to get the color. So they're a vegetable and dairy (cheese). Duh!
Red bull is in the same food group as heroin, I think.
There's a heroin group? Who knew! What else is in that group?Quote:

Working on it now, ma'am.
A few years back when Lee and I were both real fat, we would consider pint containers of Ben & Jerry's to be single serving sizes.
I used to be able to routinely polish off a pint of New York Super Fudge Chunk in a single sitting.
For Lee, it would be Cherry Garcia.
Ah, the good old days. :p
Y'all aren't helping.....:o
snap "losing and gaining the same 1/2 pound for a couple weeks now" dragen
This is what happens when you get too friendly with Ben & Jerry
gahhhhhhhhhh ............ :p

And this is what happens when you ride your bike up Diablo. :p

I usually make Rice Krispy treats all summer until I just can't stand them any more. Growing up, we made them with Karo syrup and peanut butter. I have no idea the proportions. Now I just make them with marshmallows (lazy!) I haven't made a single pan this summer. More into bits of dark chocolate. Which we know is an anti-oxidant.
I do love those sugar free Red Bulls. Thank goodness they're too expensive to ever just keep around the house! They taste like SweetTarts to me. YUM!
I bet you could stick rice krispy bars right to the top tube like Powerbars. Perfect bike food!
I haven't had ice cream for a long time...I do however have some non dairy ice cream in my freezer but haven't touched it in a while..
MP, SK, Veronica and the long distance riders are allowed to have Ben & Jerry's....Me being a mere mortal slug on a bike would dread having some...
I really only have cake etc when i've biked a good distance and feel i deserve it...
Rice Crispie squares...i'd cook some but i would only eat a few pieces..
c
You guys are killing me! I am trying to keep the 30 lbs off that I lost last year. Just reading this made me gain back 5! (But I am tempted to made rice krispy bars--haven't had any since I was a kid)
But I am not sure I found the right balance yet, as I bonked last week on an uphill ride and I think it was because I had not had enough to eat at breakfast.
Ayuh.. that's it. That's why I eat Ben & Jerry's, so I can avoid bonking. Thanks for the idea Oldbikah. But if I were in Maine, I'd be getting Beal's.
V.
Does that mean pizza and beer are also to be consumed for their bonk avoidance poperties? :D
I ate Ben and Jerry's Strawberry Shortcake on Sunday and Monday, and Neopolitan Dynamite last night to prevent bonking on my 200k Saturday. It works great!
Where'd anyone get the idea I'm a long distance rider? I ride many miles but try to get the miles per ride in the double digits.Quote:

You need to get back on a monthly diet of Diablo. :)
V.
It's been too hot and the road to the summit is propably crap.
Saturday's ride will be better. 54 miles and 4,100' climbing. Plus the ever entertaining visit to the Pope Valley elephants and sightings of wily Moskowilians.

Marble Slab. There was one next to the Courtyard I used to use when our office was still in Phoenix. Dangerous. When it's still in triple digits at 9 pm, it's easy to have a 100% dairy dinner.
My favorite fruit smoothies. oj, pineapple juice, plain yogurt, frozen strawberries, frozen peaches and an old banana. YUMO
