Oh man, this morning I was hired at an awesome bike shop in town. I am so excited. I will be learning so much about bikes and how they work. I will actually learn how to build them. Crazy huh? I get mad discounts too! What a perfect job for a young cyclist, I'm tellin' ya! I work at a coffee shop and a bike shop ( my two passions). Thought I would share the good news!

Congrats Megan! I wouldn't mind a job at a bike shop, but I would have to learn so very much as I can't seem to change my own tire without help!
My dream is to run a combo coffee house/bike shop/bookstore. You're almost there! :D

The only downside will be the few male customers who insist on treating you like you don't know what you're talking about because you're a girl, but the good stuff far outweighs the few jerks.:D

There is a bike shop here in Seattle that has a coffee shop in it, I'm hoping to find it one of these weekends.

Knotted Yet: Yep, been there. A couple years ago when I was a really new rider, I had a private lesson there from one of their wrenches (a woman, naturally!) who taught me how to change a rear tire and repair my chain. It was all hands on and really confidence building.
MHTrek: Good going on your new job! You will be in such a great position to encourage, inspire and educate new riders, like the wrench who helped me a couple years ago.
