I notice that the headline of the article reads "Casa Orosco glows with enhanced Mexican cuising and decor"  ;)
Do they mean cruising?
Or cuisine? ;) :p
Or is this a new combo of both?
Little known Trek trivia I used to be in graphic design and while I can't spell my way out of a paper bag I'm not truly happy at dinner till I find the typo.
I'm happy now ;-)
I'm in and since I'm the designated driver for Bikeless that's 2 and since Spazz is resting I'm sure she's in...that's 3.
I love good Mexican food, but I don’t know about the night before a ride. Personally, I enjoyed Fuzio’s last year. The atmosphere was fun a lively and the food was good. And I didn't think that parking was a problem. (But I prefer to park far away and walk a little further because I’m fanatical about door dings in my car).:o
Is anybody else interested in pasta? I’ll start another thread so as not to hijack this one.
Count me in- let's do it early as then we can get home and get to bed early too!
mexican is my friend... before, during or after a ride  BUT, I'll go wherever the majority rules.
spazz
during?
Welcome back spazz! And welcome to California. Now fix your profile:D
yes ma'am! Done...
Like mother like daughter? Mom proofread my dissertation. Also my trial lecture at the dissertation defence -- while I was giving it. I had a slide up that quoted some doctor at a conference in 1800-something. I said 1900-whatever it was and Mom couldn't contain herself out there in the audience, shouted out "No, 18[and whatever]". I thanked her, pointed out that she was credited in the preface for proofreading the book, and after that ... no more nerves. :DQuote:

bikeless in WI "Like mother like daughter?"
There's no way I am anywhere near as smart as our mutual Mom  But maybe that's where I got the gene. Got the pun gene from Dad. Not as smart as him either.

Just eat a balanced diet, plenty of complex carbs, avoid grease, hydrate hydrate hydrate. I avoid alchohol before a ride, but then I don't drink any way so...and limit coffee which is tough for me to do.
I have read somehere, maybe here that for women due to our vastly superior ability to process fat for energy (yeah this chocolate is fuel, yeah right) that pre-ride nutrition is not so much the mega pasta garlic bread and pancakes feast that men may need for endurance events as just eat balanced meals.
So now they tell me.
Cindysue, are we getting old? "I just wanna eat somewhere quiet" We're trying to find the restaraunts we can hear in.
At least that's what I thought I heard you say. ;)
yep! I'm getting old and hard of hearing. I guess it would be a cop-out to also say I'm senile :p  and fortunately I don't yet need to hold reading material away from my eyes - I think I've got about 4 years until that happens.......Quote:

My choice is: less noise, easier parking. Thought Mexican might be nice for a change. Anybody know about noise factor there?
I keep myself to 1 cup per day, cuz dehydration is bad for my guts, which are already difficult. But you're not alone in needing more. Found a t-shirt on the I'net: "Instant human -- just add coffee". Thought I'd get one of those for daughter's BF. He's only barely human when we see him in the kitchen mornings, and that's after daughter serves him a first cuppa in bed. After second cup he can hold a conversation, crack a joke, etc. :D Anyways ... want one of those t-shirts too? Could make it an extra for your b'day.Quote:

where oh where is the jersey that says .... ;-)
Got back from the Amgen TT with Spazzdog. We saw George, and Levi fly up the hill but did not get any free samples of EPO.
Thought I'd get this further up on the line as I haven't heard much lately.
Hello! Anyone out there?
Hi there,
sorry for the non communicado lately.. L.o.N.g story got complicated, took ex to court, blah-blah-blah... ANYWAYS, I'm still going to go to the
Casa and if anyone wants to join us, reservation will be under either Cathi or Harding.. will be there around 630....need an early night......
Life does take its turns, we all know that!
Anyway, I'm happy to come to Livermore for dinner. Maybe I can encourage some others to come too. CINDY SUE- we could carpool (in my car)!:p :p
I'll definately be there :D (well, definately that is unless something comes up) but otherwise count me in! :)
Mel
Well, since you all will be having a pre-Cindy dinner on 3/24, have a drink (non-alcoholic) for me:D . I will not be there as I will be celebrating my birthday with my family! I will, however, be at the Cindy ride bright and early  on Saturday, so I will see you there!
Sandie
Sag 4 Valentine "I will not be there as I will be celebrating my birthday with my family!"
Aw c'mon. Bring the fambly. We'll have the strolling mariachis sing a birthday song :) I'm putting off my fambly birthday shindig till after the ride, but then maybe you have priorities in order.
(JK I don't know if there are strolling mariachis there)
Also just in case you do not come to the pre-ride dinner, so far the plan is for Bikeless, Melody and I to meet up at the porta-potties (how scenic! ;-) on the morning of the ride. Otherwise open to suggestion if folks want to do the ride out together.
After that you'll all pass us.

cindysue's "volunteered to help with pre-Cinderella activites (logistical stuff)"
like early registration? huh? huh? just kidding, thank you for volunteering.
Hey Trek420-
My friend Naomi and I might try to meet up with you all at the senic porta-potties before the ride. It would be great to ride with some people that I "know" from the forum!
Also, did people see on the Cinderella site that Specialized is going to let people test ride either a Ruby or a Dolce for the entire Cidy ride?? They only have ~15 bikes available, but it is probably worth a call for those who are thinking about buying one of the bikes, or needed something to ride that day. Thought I would pass that along.
See you all next weekend!
Thanks for the Specialized bike tip!
Porta potties... well, unless we're stuck IN LINE WAITING!
Cindy Sue- You are our Bike Angel.:p :p :p :p Thanks for doing that. I know we'll appreciate your efforts on Saturday!!:D :D :D :D :D
:( unfortunaely, those slots were taken a long time agoQuote:

OK - I'm in for the dinner too :) - I'm looking forward to seeing all of you guys, and meeting the folks I haven't met yet.

Well gals -
I'm gonna be missing dinner with y'all - bummer! :( I'm meeting up with an old friend of mine that lives up in the Eureka area. I convinced her to meet me halfway (that would be Dublin) so we could catch up. She knows of some awesome dinner spot somewhere within driving distance up there (her opinion...we'll see...I still say nothing compares to Vito's in Pacific Grove!!), so we're meeting at the hotel and then going to dinner from there. I was torn for a bit on what to do, see her or see all of you, and then I realized that this is a rare opportunity, whereas I'll probably see some of you sometime this summer on a Monterey ride or something....Anyway, I reeeally hope you guys have fun, carb up well, and enjoy the strolling Mariachis... wouldn't that be funny if there were??! :p
Ok, about the ride, tho' -- if there are any of you who are wanting/needing a faster-pace riding partner (say 17-18mph...ok, I'll be honest, maybe 19+...when not avoiding pedestrians, cars, and novices), I'd be very interested in meeting up (BikeGoddess...CindySue???). Last year, I did the whole ride alone, and although I'm willing to again, it would be fun to have some company this time. Cindysue, I think you have my cell # already, and actually, BG, I think you do too! PM me - anyone - if you want to join up.:)
Fun fun! Only about a week left! Have fun at the dinner, everyone! I'll be there in spirit!
~BikeMomma

I won't be at the dinner.
Hey AG - I'll be sorry not to see you! I heard a rumor there may be another Monerey to Carmel ride? this spring... that would be sooo fun. Hope you are well!
-BZ
Is that me on the list? I won't be there either, quiet night before the Cindy for me.:o
Sorry the Snap lady isn't coming. Aren't you the one that brought the "glass" slippers or was it the lei (I still have both!).
We'll miss you all, hopefully see you bright and early Saturday Morning.
BTW - Linda Longinetti, the artist who does cards, posters (she's done a new one for the Cinderella ride this year) will be in the vendor area. Be sure to stop by and say hello. She'll love talking with all of you! She is also a cyclist and interested in cycling products for women.:) :) :) :)
