A sad day.............
A sad day for me today, I discovered my little boy (Bluey) on the bottom of his cage.
I suppose eleven years old for a budgie is quite good, especially as during the last couple of years he has only been able to limp about on one foot. I regularly had him checked out with my vet and she agreed, he was always chirping, eating and drinking well and in the last year, use to come up to the front of his cage to have his tummy tickled.
I slowly lifted him out of his cage and cuddled him and gave him a kiss on his head and just sobbed.
Later I found the perfect spot in the garden, quite funny as I am not religious, however, while holding him I did look up to the sky and muttered a few words.
I will so miss that little boy.
RIP Bluey

I'm sorry you've lost your Bluey.
I'm always amazed by how small budgies are physically compared to the huge space they hold in our hearts.

I'm so sorry. He looks so cute!

He was a a beautiful little guy! I'm so sorry for your loss, Clock.
-
Awww :( I'm sorry.
I've always loved parakeets - they have so much more personality than you would expect for such little guys!
-
So sorry for your loss, he looks so sweet!
-
((((Clock)))). I'm so sorry. He was a pretty bird.

What a pretty little boy - I'm so sorry. :(

So sorry to hear this. I've had budgies too (called 'em buzzards :p) Here's hoping Bluey found my Ben and Mickey to play with in birdy heaven.
((hugs))

(((((Clock))))) I'm so sorry for your loss.

so sorry for your loss, Clock. Losing one we love is so difficult- sometimes I think even more when he's your pet and you've taken care of him for so long and he's dependent on you for everything.
Hugs to you, dear!

I had a bluey as well , they could have been twins. I am so sorry. Those little guys can worm themselves into your heart and memories so fast. Bless him and you- 11 years for a budgie is pretty remarkable and I'm sure you made each of them happy.

Sorry for your loss. Bluey has spread his wings and flown - to torment the kitties at the Rainbow Bridge probably.
-
I am sorry, Clock. I bet he's missing you too.
-
Never expected so many lovely posts, I just hope Bluey can access the internet up there!
I was thinking earlier today, the love that all of us on here give our pets and yet there are children in the world that don't get that.
Thanks again for making me smile and understanding how I felt.

Clock, sorry about your guy Bluey, it's amazing how birdies can become such a part of our life and families. I lost my budgie Popeye many years ago but have never forgotten him. God put a special place in our hearts for the animal kingdom and children because we are their stewards.
-
Cool bird, that Bluey.
Fortunate for both of you, that you had so many years together.
Orange and blue, hmmm, compliments.

-
What a pretty bird. I'm sure you brought each other much happiness during your years together. So sorry for your loss.

I am so sorry to hear of your budgie's passing. That was a good, long life he had. The liitle ones can certainly steal your heart away, and I think that many people who don't have birds don't understand how attached you can get. I sob evey single time one of mine leaves us, and we have a little birdie cemetary at the edge of the woods.
-
Aw, Clock, I'm sorry to hear about Bluey. I'm sure that my canary and my Senegal Parrot are welcoming Bluey to the Rainbow Bridge. They will have quite a time flying free and chuckling at all the cats and generally being clowns.
-
so sorry to hear Clock :(, its even harder because pets are family members.
-
Monday today and I have lost count how many times I have whistled or called out to my little Bluey.
But we have all been there and yes, time is a great healer as they say.

So Sorry
Sorry about Little Bluey - It is so hard to lose our companions. Hang in there.

Hi Clock, I was away from my computer last weekend when you initially posted this, just wanted to pass on my condolences. Bluey sounds like quite the sweetheart!
-
:(
So sad, brought a tear to my eyes as I remembered my Keith, a little yellow budgie who used to talk for hours to me as I did homework, gosh, some 35 years ago... I still miss him.
Bluey looked like a real sweetheart, so sorry...
-
Hi Clock,
My sincere condolence. He is very pretty and he will be missed. I know you gave him a warm, comfortable and very loving life. His body has passed away but his fond memories will live in your heart.
I wish you well and I wish your broken heart to mend soon.
Sincerely,
Smilingcat

I'm so sorry for your loss. We had a blue parakeet while I was growing up. My sisters wanted a bird. My mom and I are the ones that took care of him and spent the most time with him. It is also so hard to loose a pet.
