How do you keep the wind out of your ears?

It's getting chilly and windy. I love riding my bike to work but the wind in my ears is just killing me. I thought about getting one of those thing hats underneath my helmet but I'm afraid it will give me massive helmet hair :p

What do you all do to keep the wind out of your ears? :)

Headband. I actually wear them all year round because I hate having cold ears. Like these:

I hear ya.... My ears are my weak spot. I use these ear warmers and they work very well. You pull the two ear pads apart to the right length for your head and clamp them on. They work perfectly with a bike helmet.

I have a Sugoi head band that works great but when I forget it, I stuff kleenex in my ears. It embarrasses my husband but I don't care. :)

I use a lululemon running cap right now. It doesn't give me hat hair either, but my bike ride is only 20 mins long

I have a beanie and an ear band.

I prefer the beanie, which is not as warm but blocks less of the incoming sounds, but sometimes it's in the wash. :) The ear band really muffles sounds, which annoys me.

Headband. Helmet head yes, but no worse than with my helmet. A comb and a little water and I'm somewhat good to go again.

Headband. You can get really thick ones that work great down into the single digits. I like them because your head can still cool off a little bit, which you need even when it's really cold outside.

I got a Buff this past winter and it was a revelation. It is more gentle on the hair than anything else I've used, and it it soft and comfy but doesn't get sweaty. It is really a miracle cure! :)

Buff user here. And when you don't need it, just pull it down like a full and fluffy turtleneck.

I, too, am a buff lover. I picked up some ear bags on clearance last spring that I haven't had to try yet. I would have today if I hadn't needed the vehicle. But I thoght the bags held by the buff would work well. We'll see.

Light wool headband here. When things get colder, I open up my helmet and wear a dumb old knit hat under the helmet. When things are really cold, both.

Maybe try Tina Fey's trick of taping your ears back? :)

Which style Buff are you gals referring to? I see there are a few to choose from!

I wear a SmartWool hoodie and a balaklava.

My hair always looks funny anyway.

Wow! You have no idea how good it is to hear that other people have problems with their ears in the wind! I've spent my life as the only one with ears hurting when there's any breeze and the temp is below 70 degrees. So I've finally bought a ton of headbands to wear all year round. And I have a skull cap that fits under the helmet too.

I use a pair of ear warmers that slide over my helmet straps. I love them because they let sound through and also because they aren't strapped right on you head your ears/head don't overheat and no headband hair! I cycle to work rain hail or shine (okay maybe not hail!) so when it's freezing and windy my ears stay warm, and I HATE having cold ears too :)

I have just the regular, plain old buff. It's super!

Earbags work well for me when it gets cold out - the straps of my helmet go over them and they stay in place very nicely. Plus you can get them in zebra prints and leopard spots and be stylin' :)

A buff works great too.
