Disgusting!!!
Oh baby!!!
SUPERSIZE ME!
Just plain gross. I think I would OD on that concoction not to mention a fast trip to the ER.
gaawwwwgggg! Inhaling hairball would be much nicer.

speaking of which, I'm eating out at lunch. work related. The boys decided that Mexican food was a great idea.
I ordered a smallest lunch menu item. My "proper" upbringing put me in auto mode so I ate the whole burrito with all that rice and beans. 26 hours later and I'm still hurting. no dinner last night. Couldn't go out riding cause just felt awful with all that food. Did finally manage to get on my trainer for over an hour at 75% (HR 150 out of 203 max). Skipped breakfast still not hungry. Truth of the matter, I forced myself onto the trainer cause I was afraid that all those calories were going straight to my muffin top. That $9.00 dish must have had over 3,000 calories I swear.
Maybe by tonight I'll be ready for garden salad. :D

ewwwwwwwww
But look on the bright side. It's got no crustaceans!
"a shake for breakfast, a shake for lunch, and a sensible dinner"
:D
(the real question is, are you old enough to remember these ads?)
Baskin-Robbins serves something with shellfish in it??
Once upon a time I might've had one of those.
Until I read this label I might've had whatever small non-dairy desserts they might serve (if they even do? haven't been in one in decades)
But parabens in the sauce?!:mad: I didn't even know they were legal for products that were supposed to be consumed rather than applied externally? No thanks. I'll have a cup of decaf. (And yes I know about the solvents, never mind anything that might be in or on the cup....)
(and I remember the Slim-Fast ads too :D)
But... you can cut your calories by half if you just stick to this one
Glad I could help! :D
PS... yep, I think I still see the ads for a "shake for breakfast, lunch and sensible dinner" every now and then! I tried it once... STARVED! I guess that's the point. I lasted two days. Then binged on something similar to the above!
That half the calories in that thing DON'T come from fat. Who would've thunk.
2310 calories?? http://bestsmileys.com/fainting/1.gif
Yeah but it does cover over 100% of your daily calcium!!
I just couldn't resist.
This reminds me of watching someone I worked with order a skyscraper drink with foo foo whip n sauce at starbucks and then wondering why she was gaining weight. Oh and did I mention that was AFTER we ate lunch? Some of them look like sundaes! Thou shall not drink sundaes....
Who is touting it as a recovery drink?
Yeah, ice cream is high on the glycemic index and has some protein. Just consider it frozen chocolate milk to be shared with about 4 of your closest friends. If this version didn't have all the chemicals, what is wrong with it? There are lots of times I can't stomach solid food at the end of a difficult century on a hot day and ice cream has saved the day. Not sure, I'd want candy in it, but whatever gets some food (sans the nasty chemicals) in your stomach is better than nothing.
Wow! Maybe there should be some sort of award for number of calories per gram of junk food....wonder what would win? The Baskin Robbins heath thing is the highest I've ever seen.
Ah am......
"Where's the beef?"
"Hold the pickles, hold the lettuce, special orders don't upset us.........
"I'd like to teach the world to sing in perfect harmony...."
"Im a pepper, you're a pepper, wouldn't you like to be a pepper too."
"Libbys libbys libbys on the label label label..."
"My bologna has a first name, it's O S C A R...My bologna has a second name..."
"Two all beef patties special sauce lettuce cheese pickle onion on a sesame seed bun..."
Ok, how come these are all food memories?
Oh, ok, can't forget the crying indian. Poor guy.
Now that I'm on break and have no set schedule, I tend to not eat as well.
I've been making my own shakes with lots of fruits and Dreyer's vanilla ice cream. The making of the shake and then the drinking of it with a straw keeps me occupied for a while. I tend to eat out of boredom, so this helps.
I would love something like that BR shake. But we don't go there. :D
V.
Have a cup of Yuban...for dessert.
This is why restaurants and fast-food joints are fighting tooth & nail against the proposed requirements that they list nutritional & caloric info on their menus & displays.
If consumers actually knew how many calories & how much fat was in that Big Mac & fries, some would probably head for the door!
V, after you ride the East Bay 200K permanent - 125 miles with 7000 ft of climbing - I'd say you're allowed a BR shake !
Tho maybe you should stick with a 'small'
That's funny you should say that. After the first 200K I got a fruit smoothie at Jamba Juice as my "proof" of finishing.
I would have done the same thing after the second one, but the line was WAY long! I had to settle for a Red Bull.
We did stop at Jack in the Box on the way home though. :D
V.
And here I thought I was going to see something wise and wonderful....bleh.
2 cents...coconut water??? has anyone tried that for electrolytes rather than the usual?
Over 2000 calories??? I just about died when I pulled that up...If you have a craving for something sweet, I always love TCBY! The white chocolate mouse soft serve is amazing and it is yogurt!! A great treat!

DH and I stopped at Cold Stone Creamery tonight (bad idea night before weigh-in, huh!?)
So they have "healthy choice" smoothies. I asked to look at the calorie counts. He gave me a table, and I couldn't find one under 1000 calories, and many were over 2000 calories! I think this was for the largest size, but still!
I didn't have the heart to ask about what I'd already started eating. I was so depressed... I finished it all. ;)
I think it's the size of the things...
When I was in the US and saw the size of a large dairy queen, I almost fainted.. Its like.. family size for one person... The small there is like the medium here.
Thats one of the reasons why I think that the downsizing of stuff going on in the US is actually a good thing. It's not the food itself thats bad for you. It's the size. These things are supposed to be TREATS.. so they should be small.
people need to reminded what portions are. I read somewhere how much portions have changed. In the past fries came in a small bag, and now they come in a sack. Same thing with popcorn at the cinema.. the stuff comes in a bucket! A bucket is something to hold water to wash stuff in.. not food. Too much food people.. too much.
We went to the movies last week, a rare occurrence for us. It was a 9:40 AM show. We didn't get any snacks. I'd just eaten breakfast!
We went to see Wall-E. We were flabbergasted by how many people came out of the show with their huge tubs of popcorn still chomping away. Hello people! Do you want to be carted around in a chair because you're too flippin' fat to walk! Weren't you paying attention?
And how many Wall-E toys will be in the landfill in ten years?
V.
Erm - actually the medium size of most ice creams at Cold Stone is in the 500ish range. Larges are in the 700 ish range. So...maybe not as bad as you think. At least for a very occasional treat. The smoothies there are just HUGE - that might have something to do with the calorie counts:rolleyes:!
However, though I love their stuff, I'm concerned about hormones in milk products. They say it's too expensive to require that their mixes come from cows not treated (they sent me a long email to that effect), so I'll be getting ice cream elsewhere now...
I'm not so sure about that. I'm convinced that there are lots of people who don't do much reading anymore at all, and they probably think 3000 calories is just what a typical/normal meal is.....they have no concept of what a 3000 calorie for the whole day concept is.
Yeah people have gotten used to gargantuan serving sizes- they see them as normal now, thanks to the food industry. :(
I see little 7 year old kids in restaurants with quart sized sodas, and then their parents nagging them that they are not eating their 6 little grease-laden 'chicken' nuggets. Always followed up by huge pieces of cake or sundaes....
Half of all this so-called "food" winds up in the garbage, so much fat and breading that the body can't even force it down. GROSS.
Chock-Full-Of-Nuts is such heavenly coffee,
Better coffee a millionaires...money can't buy:)
Definitely! I think that's a big part of the problem--nobody knows what a reasonable serving size is anymore. Plus all the trans fats and other fake garbage in the food--not only are people just eating too much, but a lot of it is total junk. Speaking of fast food and portion sizes, ever seen "Super Size Me"? Talk about disgusting...
I'm still trying to figure out how this thread started by calling this a "recovery" drink? Who said it was?
I think it was a snark on the fact that some people tout chocolate milk as a recovery drink. Dairy and sugar.
Ah, well. A few weeks back I was so nauseated from the day's heat that I had ice cream and chocolate sauce for dinner. So there. :p
A real chocolate shake would have been the cat's pj's.
Oh - wow. I just had a flashback to that amazing place on the side of the road on the way to bend where we had the great shakes..... Hmm. Some post Death Ride recovery fuelling may be in order.
:p
Well, make it a fast stop. Group ride on Lower Whoops at 4:30.
Ahem - I've been known to have coldstone for dinner. So long as you're not eating anything else, it's not *that* bad. And when it's over 100, there really aren't that many things I can eat:)
CA
In my fridge.
:D
