Run to the Hills: Week of May 25th Runs
Taking advantage of the lull at work to post (don't know where time has gone lately). Running still going well, my big trail race is on Saturday 31st (hence the thread title), wibble wibble.
I am in a taper type week this week though I did our Clubs 10 mile road race on Sunday 25th. It was quite enjoyable even if it was all tarmac! I have blogged about the race so I won't bore you with the details of it here.
I finally have started the blog of my training I have been meaning too for ages as OH is away in Oz for the next few weeks and the time difference is making things difficult regarding phone calls, think he just wants to check I'm not overdoing it. I was also writing more and more in the notes section of my online training log which was starting to look silly, I'll keep the log for the hard facts from now on.
Only three miles tonight, no hills/trails and slowly (are you listening self?), then a short MTB ride tomorrow night (again are you listening self?) then rest Thursday and Friday.
Happy Running everyone.
Jet lagged, allergy-fogged, altitude-hummed, catching up
Yesterday morning after I dropped my bici at the shop for some maintenance (wheels trued, chain replaced, grease where needed, general checkup) and finished packing, 4.25 from home.
This evening, after almost the world's worst flight last night, and all day at the racetrack, 4.38 around the industrial park/hotel complex. I'm not really noticing the altitude honestly, we're only at 4200 feet, I just overheard some people today talking about having trouble with the altitude. maybe they live in a submarine ;) But the jet lag and the allergies are enough to make me feel like cr*p warmed over. Amazingly my pace wasn't too bad today.
Non-athletes call me "dedicated" when I work out before and during travel. The truth is, I just hate feeling like cr*p. And even more, I hate sitting around the house fretting and stressing three hours before I have to leave for the airport.
Good luck tattie & teigyr! Kick butt!
