Hurray for $600 that landed in my bank account this morning from the economic stimulus. Not sure how much it will help the economy, but it will definitely help pay off the car loan and maybe finance a bike part or two.
How will you spend your check?

LOL, I was hoping mine would be there when I checked my balance this morning...but nothing yet.
Mine is going to pay for the moustache handlebar conversion on my bike (I have gathered all the parts, now I just gotta pay for the labor). The rest will go into the ol' IRA.
Crack and cheap vodka.
New glasses and boring ol' savings. Hrmph.
Zen, thanks for the chuckle..loved it.. As far as the check, not sure I will even see it. Goes into DH's account and doubt he will even tell me if it ever made it there or not. We should split it 50/50 but I know that ain't gonna happen..he's a greedy B@&T#D.
It's going into my savings account so I can travel to Kentucky for Ironman Kentucky, August 2008!
The trip is going to cost me $2,000 easy and I don't have but $300 saved up.
Race X Lite, tubeless ready mtb wheelset (remember, I work in a shop - killer deals) and an XT crankset
We're not sure we are going to get it. We are borderline for the cut-off, so if we get it, it'll be a bit of a surprise.
Ironically, if we do get it, it's going towards our tax bill for last year! :p
It's going into the "new bike-someday" fund.
Heaven forbid I should actually save it.
Can I have some economic stiumulus please?
:(
We just made an appointment to have another 12 inches of insulation blown into our attic. I suppose we'll use it to help pay for that.
It's certainly not enough for the new windows the house needs!
I'm joining the local farm co op. Organic fresh veggies all summer long! Yay!
I will be paying down Credit Card Debit here! :( (All the new bike and accessories charges!!) :)
I've checked my account and not there yet....but according to the time frames (posted below) I should have mine by the end of the week!! Whooo Who!!

People who file a return after April 15 will receive their economic stimulus payment, but probably about two weeks later than the schedule shows. A return must be filed by October 15 in order to receive a stimulus payment this year.
A small percentage of tax returns will require additional time to process and to compute a stimulus payment amount. For these returns, stimulus payments may not be issued in accordance with the schedule above, even if the tax return was processed by April 15.
Right into the savings account - economic stimulus what a bunch of hooey!
Since we haven't filed our taxes yet....I don't know when ours is coming. And we're on the borderline of whether we'd even get one. We always get a huge refund (can't be avoided with the way my husband gets paid), so i don't know why in the world I put off filing the taxes, but I do. (I filed for an extension.)

I think that I will spend the stimulus rebate to purchase goods which are shipped to the US from other countries, thereby stimulating foreign economy. Some stimulus rebate for our economy, eh?
All sarcasm aside, the $$ will be used to pay off debt. Within 5 month's time we had to replace our garage door opener, washer, dryer, dishwasher, water heater, and water softener. Fun. Really fun. :(:(:(
Hah. All $200 of it. Won't even pay my CPA bill. Economic stimulus my fanny.
Bigger question is what to do with my (small) bonus from the job from h3ll. Currently residing in my savings account. Choices: 1) Continue to save; 2) get a digital SLR to take pictures of things that make me happy or 3) save part and get a grocery getting bike/around town (probably a breezer).
Decisions, decisions....
Putting it in my saving account once it arrives. I just checked and it was not in my account today.
Savings fund for the ever-inflating house we want to buy! Even in down times, the market here is too high for the house on a little piece of land. Someday - -we will own our own little paradise. This will contribute.
Oh... and a full tune-up on the road bike! (OF COURSE...duh).
The list could go on and on... likely one of the reasons we don't have the house yet!:(
Or... the vodka does sound good. :D
It's going in the savings account so we can work on getting a down payment for our first house!:D
Paying bills.
Gave some of it to the Trust for Public Land, and some of it will go toward joining a CSA. The rest will help pay off my BLUE :D
I am with you on that one. all we paid into it and what we are getting back doesn't really make me feel like spending it. But we are going to get a painting of our newer cat Aki from thhis wonderful artist who has done a painting of all our cats. Aki is the newest (3 years) and doesn't have one yet. Here is he's web site he is wonderful! http://www.georgwilliams.com/index.htm
What?? ya'all gettin the money?
I'm not
I thought it was just some smoke.
smilingcat
We're not getting it either. I don't want to get political, and have had enough ranting for today :o , but it just seems so ill advised to be giving money back when the economy is in the crapper. Our schools in CA are getting funding cut AGAIN. I hope I am wrong. I'm no economist. But the priorities seem "off".
(And really, I am not bitter because we don't get the $. In fact we are getting a pretty hefty tax refund after over paying estimated tax and making less $ than our estimates for 2 years in a row. That money is going to reduce our debt.)
Hey! You're not supposed to save it, or use it for something practical like paying bills! You're supposed to spend it on stuff! Preferably American made stuff! We all need more stuff!
:D:D
Nice pic, Snap!
Gotta love Seattle! (that pic is down the street from where I work)
I'd buy his Stuff ;)
