Oh, so sad! A huge loss.
OH NO! so sad! He will be sorely missed! His love of bikes and of France are inspiring to those of us who love both.
Noooo. and he was only 2 years older than my dear hubby. So sad.
So sad. If anyone gets news of a memorial service please post here. I will actually be in Boston next weekend. I bought one bike from Harris, and Sheldon helped me restore another by email correspondance. So sad..........
He helped me too, online and via personal emails too. He was just an endless source of knowledge. His passing will leave a huge gap in the collective base of bicycle know-how. He was so positive and upbeat about his MS conditions, and to lose the battle so early is just too sad.
His death is so sad. I just e-mailed him last Saturday with a question and got a quick reply. He was so helpful to me and my partner. He will be missed!
Oh God. That is so sad. He was just such a great guy in so many ways. I can't believe it. Thanks for letting us know.
What a loss. Much too soon.
:(
So sad. :( He was still posting on Bike Forums last night...helping until the very end. :(:(
He was so young, what a loss.
Thank you for the announcement. I hoped he'd publish his website in a book format. He was interested, but indicated he lacked the fire to get it done.
My impression is that he had a wonderful life. I hope when it is my time I am on my bike, but more than that I hope the same can be said of me.
The world is a better place because of Sheldon Brown. Such a tragedy that he died so soon.

This is truly a loss for our dimension of the multiverse.
Wow, what a huge loss to the cycling community as a whole. So sad.
How sad. That's no age at all these days. Sheldon's contribution to the cycling world is as vast as will be the void left by his passing.
Ride on, "Captain Bike".
You ladies have already said everything I felt on hearing this very sad news, but I wanted to add my appreciation for Sheldon and his devotion to the world of cycling as well. I hope that he went in peace.
What a tremendous loss for the cycling community. My thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends and loved ones.
How sad, what a sad loss. I really enjoyed going through his website and learning so many things about riding and bikes and just life in general. If it weren't for him, I would've never created my single speed or even new what I had. He will be greatly missed.
Oh, no! What a huge loss.
Oh so sad. There will never be another one like him. I've learned so much from his site. He will be missed by all.:(
:(
RIP Sheldon.
I'm honored to have set my wheels on the same planet.
Oh no! This is so sad. My heart goes out to his family and friends. As a real newbie I've recently spent a lot of time on his website and found it so incredibly valuable. What a profound loss for the cycling community.
Oh man! I am so sorry to hear this. Our prayer's go out to he's family and friends and to all that he touched with his wisdom of biking!
Well, I’m stunned… my sadness joins so many others
OakLeaf, I am joining you in your very succint phrase
I too, am honoured to have set my wheels on the same planet…
Thanks for posting the news. What a loss. :(
What a legacy he created. His love for life expanded across the world to touch so many people. A great soul.
:( Always sad to hear such news.
RIP Sheldon.
May you ride on forever.

I learned of Sheldon's passing yesterday at my bike club meeting. The folks there said that he was suffering from MS and had been riding a trike as he could no longer ride a two wheeled bike.
He was truly an amazing man. May he rest in peace.
There is a nice article about Sheldon in the Boston Globe this morning.
