I wish that our mileage could show up for multiple clubs. :( I'm a member of TE on Bike Journal but my miles get posted for another club that I'm in.
Yeah... but while no-one else is logging their miles, I get to stay in the top 5!
Psst... everyone, heres a chance to knock a bird off her perch... get that ostentatious Raven... log your miles!!!
If only I had miles to log:( We had a nice icy spell, and now I've moved in such a way as to thoroughly PO my back:mad::mad:
Will log as soon as I'm riding again:)
I logged my mass quantity of trainer miles last night. Of course I had to stop because my banana bread was done.
Mmmmmm, banana bread.
If the weather would ever warm up and melt the ice - I would log some miles!!!
Alas, no such luck. Another storm coming in on Sunday.

I've been logging my mileage. I even called in sick today and went for a ride with a friend. We got 37 miles in and had a great ride to boot. :D
How much snow shoveling equal one mile? Besides keeping the driveway and walkways clear I've also had to shovel off the roof of my sewing studio and garage. The house roof is this weekend.
According to those that know, January's snowfall in Spokane was the third highest since they started keeping records. :o
I am logging my pityful trainer miles while dreaming of the days when the roads weren't buried in snow. :D bikerHen
bikerhen, I know about your snow. I hear it from my son who is a senior at Eastern Washington University. He says his car is buried in one of the parking lots at Eastern and he's not sure where?!!!! LOL
You can belong to multiple clubs but I think your mileage only counts toward one club.
V.
As for the club that gets your miles, you choose which club to give the miles to when you enter a ride; it's right at the bottom of the page.
I'm on TE and one of my clubs in Ohio, and my miles are only going to TE since I've selected it as my primary club. (I don't feel guilty... the club in Ohio isn't my primary f2f club either... the one that is, is extremely small and not on BikeJournal... and besides that's not where I'm logging the miles right now ;))
I don't know whether you can assign individual rides to one club or another, or whether they all go to your primary club, but I suspect the former.
In '07, I was on both TE and the 2500 in 2007 Challenge groups.
TE was my "primary".
My miles showed up in - and counted toward totals in - both group lists. I'm not sure what I did that may have been different, but there's gotta be something in "manage my clubs" or preferences that you can select to ensure your miles count for both.
That said, I'm only in TE this year, and I am dutifully loggin' those miles! :p
I think all 6 of my miles for 2008 are logged for TE. 6 miles.... poooo, that's too low.
Must.
Ride.
Bike!
i just recently joined bikejournal so i could log miles to add to the TE fund, so to speak. i have only logged 31 miles and that was due to a good day with no horendous (spelling?) wind, sleet, rain, or the almighty snow that seems to be scarce in my neck of the woods as of this winter.
Every 6 miles counts...
Every 31 miles count...
They are all good and most excellent :D
Thanks for the reminder. On Saturday, when I have some time and no way of going anywhere in the snow, I will log the 250 km of trainer rides I've done since Jan 1. Will that help? :D Oh, wait, it will be more by then!
Hugs and butterflies,

I added myself to the TE Bike Journal team, and logged my rides. Nothing impressive, but there are some miles.
Yesterday's ride was WINDY. Nothing quite like trying to out run a thunderstorm. Rain, I don't mind; lightening, not so much.
Didn't know about BikeJournal until this thread, got signed up today...logged in my 10 miles from earlier....I know it isn't much but it's all I could fit in today considering the time I had between being a "taxi" for my boys and soccer camp this week.
Is there an official TE team, or can we denote TE as our club and have our miles go there? I don't belong to any club or team, but have been using bikejournal.com for a couple of months. Would be happy to have miles count for something more than just my own personal journal.
I have TE as my primary club, and post all my miles by default to TE. I'm also a member (actually, the slacker hostess ;) ) of the 5000 mile challenge club, and my mileage total turns up fine on the 5000-mile club list. I never noticed this before.
Oh yeah, now I get it. My mileage total is my mileage total, and shows on the member list no matter which club they're posted to. But the "club ranking" on the front page is ranked by how many miles are posted to each club. Maybe it shows up somewhere else too, I don't use many of the BikeJ functions.
and hermitclub - post to TE and have at it! the only official TE team are the people currently viewing this ;)
Thanks lph. I'll add my miles to the team effort. Go Team Estrogen!
Sweet. I didn't know you could list muliple clubs. I just added my 2008 miles (all 2,149 of them, yippie!) to TE.
Can I do a year to date entry for each of my bikes? I have not kept track of my individual rides, but know the number of kilometers I've done since January pretty accurately. Since it's near 1600 km, I'd love to add it to TE, but I sure don't want to have to add individual rides!
Any ideas?

I think that means you can bulk-enter your YTD miles!Quote:
Please select the bulk entry checkbox if this entry contains data from more than one ride. This will help maintain the integrity of the various stat tables. Thank you for your cooperation.
And, my BikeJournal miles only show up on my primary club (which is TE). When I look at the rider chart for my other club, I'm on the list with my miles, but they don't count toward the total (and neither do another member's miles, who also has a different club as his/her primary). Maybe dues-paying BikeJournal members can log miles to more than one club? I don't know because I'm not one :o That's only fair, that people's miles wouldn't count double toward club totals.
I think no matter what your miles only count to one club. I've paid my dues and list Amici Veloci as my primary club and my miles do not show up on TE.
V.
yeah, that's what I meant to say - you can only "dedicate" a ride to one club, which will boost that clubs collective mileage, but your personal total mileage is connected to you and will show up on a club member list next to your name. So you can check your "ranking" based on mileage in any club even if all your rides are dedicated elsewhere.
why does come out more confusing every time i type it  ;)
Last week I got in 103 miles.
So far I have 42 today, 32 on Monday, 3.5 on Tuesday......
Hey, I'm tryin' to get my miles in for the summer. Been fiddlin' around on my mtb too long. ;)
I think you can only join one club but you can change clubs. ;) I first joined BikeJ wtih Different Spokes, a tiny club and I wanted to throw my AIDS Lifecycle miles their way. Then changed back to TE at a moment like this. Who knows, I might switch back or join Bicyclists with Biceps or ...
Call me fickle. A lady is allowed to change her mind.
I want to log my km's but i have a bit of a dilemma.
I set a goal for myself last year & although i was doing well, I felt I was getting obsessed :(. Being obsessed is fine but it took my accident to realize that I was ignoring my dear :(.
I really want to log my km's but i also am worried about getting obsessed again..
Maybe you could just log in your kms once a month in bulk. If you visit the site less perhaps it won't make you feel that obsessed. Balance in all areas of our lives can sometimes be hard.
LOL - looking at my mileage this year I think I could do with being a little more obsessed.:D
I promise to do more training CC before October.......I promise.:o
Last year I had TE as my primary club, but I also had my miles going towards the 2500 mile challenge. I'm not sure why that worked.
CC - I agree with Trek. Don't worry about the detail, post a bulk entry once a month, or once a quarter. I just posted Jan-Jun 17. :o I haven't had time to be obsessive this year! Too busy having fun when I'm not riding. :D
Hugs & butterflies,
~T~
I think BikeJ is down. :( Can't log my stuff.
