New Bike!? *Sweet Bike Pic* :)
So I guess most of you know that I want to sell my Giant OCR3 to get a tri bike. I pretty much decided that I want to go for the Specialized Transition Elite. :) Market price is 1599.99 but luckly I can get a decent discount since I work at a bike shop.

Isnt that a sweet bike or what!?! Anyone have it or hear things about it?
Working at a bike shop rocks!
I work at a bike shop too, you get CRAZY discounts... especially if you employee purchase stuff. Another perk of the job is you get to know all of the customers and have all sorts of people to ride with... and get other tips from the other employees, because most of them are guys and know what they are talking about.. I love my job.. besides of being a student.
A BIG Thank You - I'm NOT Nuts!
Mine isn't a Specialized but I've had problems with shifting also and no one can seem to find the problem. Or they DO find the problem, fix it and it works Great for about 1-3 days then it starts up again. I've just learned to live with it and believe it or not, figured out how to feather rapid-shifters!
My issue is between gears 3-5 on the cassette. The chain just does Not want to go into those gears easily. It either grinds until I feather the shifter or it grinds and Clunks (drops) into the gear. Sometimes it drops so hard I can feel it in the frame. The first time I took it back I was told the derailluer was bent so they straightened it and it worked Perfect for a few days. Then it started again. When I took it back a second time, they found a derailleur screw loose and tightened it and it worked Great again - for about 24 hrs. The third time they actually brought the mechanic out (their best they said) and he said the problem was the handlebar shifters so I switched out to rapid-fire which I love!! The first week I rode with the rapid-fire it was great, then it started again. It doesn't matter if I'm shifting on load or not - I can be flying downhill and shifting in anticipation of the upcoming stopsign and have to feather the shifters coz its grinding or I get the "grind and drop". I've asked my LBS if the cogs could be bent but they keep telling me no. So I've just stopped asking and stopped taking it in....I don't want to be without my bike for very long and I've learned how to compensate for it. But thank you for letting me know it isn't "just me"! :o
