my new job to be at least a little satisfying, a little less frustrating than my old one
and health and wellbeing for all my relations.
....oh yeah and getting faster on the bike.
a mew-lette (kitten). I've had my fill of older pet issues - I dearly love the ones I have, but face the reality that they all have some sort of health issues (fortunately all are stable)
So yes, I want something warm, fuzzy, and silly.
And the ability to ride fast and breathe at the same time. And a couple of cool jerseys.
A DATE, I WANT A DATE!!!!
My nephew to make it home from Iraq safe and sound.
A new gym bag. Mine is big, ugly and smells pretty bad. A woman at the gym has the cutest little pink one. I covet that gym bag...
Skinny road bike wheels for my Giant.
The only thing I actually asked for is an Ipod. I've never had one and I feel left out! ;)
The things I really want:
A answer as to what is wrong with one of our dogs legs
A new job for my husband that he likes and that is in a place that we want to live
The ability to fit into all the clothes in the guestroom closet
Does anyone have any good gift ideas for husbands who say they don't want anything? I'm trying to think of a good idea for him...possibly bike related. Man, he's hard to buy for!!

some amazing change in my psychology that will allow me to stop procrastinating and get my taxes done!
hugs and butterflies,
~T~
Peace of mind.
Oh, and a wireless cyclocomputer with an HR monitor and PI Microsensor bibs would be nice too. ;)
May all our Christmas wishes come true... :)
Today's list, which is subject to change, includes:
Getting into a spring bike tour that I have been unsuccessful at getting into for two straight years (they cap registration at a certain number and allow prior years' participants to register two days before the general public, so it fills up before the "virgins" can get in).
Getting rid of my nagging plantar fasciitis.
Winning the lottery would be nice, too. :D
KB
Yes in fact I surely do!!! Get several boxes that can be nested into each other. For each box, get a silly card, It must get progressivelly silly-er. Into the smallest box, place a lump of coal or charcoal brickette. :D :D :D with a hand written note. You can say whatever you want something nice would be good. then wrap the box up in a beautiful wrapping. Place the box into the next larger box, add the silly-ist card then wrap it up in little less beautiful wrapping paper. repeat three or four more times. The last one should use a plain brown paper bag. :D :D :D
Alternative is to leave the last box completely empty, just a bautiful box.

didn't want to sound like too much like beauty pagent contestant but alpinerabbit already did with world peace.
So I don't feel too bad about sounding too much like the air head pagent contestant.
Yes I would like to see world peace.
Clean air, clean water and all the endangered animals to return from brink of extinction. I would like to see humanity to care more about nature. Like doing something about global warming, recycling...
These things would make me very happy. I've done lot of things in my life, I have had toys in my life but really, to find inner peace and contentment, it has to come from the heart. Maybe my ex was right, I belong in a convent. don't care for cable or direct TV, don't care for fancy car, don't care for the mega-sized home (besides I don't want to be cleaning all the time). A nice bike, good health, good chai latte :D and circle of bestest friends evar... :D

I want my dad to get better.
I want my folks to move home to Illinois so we can spend more time togther.
And a tangible thing...I'd like a better camera.
How about a Bose iPod stereo. :)
Bike related gifts:
Park multi tool
Park bike repair stand
Bike Cube
toasty gloves
LED light
compact digi camera for those rides
windproof, waterproof cycling shoes :)
Oh, and a North Face polar fleece sweater with a pocket for the iPod. :)
Invisiblewman can take Brodie for a long walk.
Unfortunately, he has almost all that stuff, already!
He doesn't have a bike cube though, so I'm definitely going to try getting one from Terry for him. That's a good idea! Thanks!
I also like the box idea...definitely going to use that, too!
Tickets would also be good, except that there is rarely anything good around here that he'd want to see. I got him a 'Braves' weekend for his birthday last year since that's his favorite team (and sport).
Thanks for the ideas, all!
GLC, how about a subscription to a magazine or newspaper?
My Christmas/channuka wish list:
Lots and lots of snow. Big piles of fluffy white stuff that goes phlumph when BF falls over trying to learn how to ski.
For BF to feel better and no longer be tired and stressed and sick and achy.
For BF to be offered the perfect job in a great location (and if possible the same for me in the same location).
And if I still have any wishes left.....a Garmin 305 or similar gadget would be very nice too...
I'm to cynical to think we'll ever see world peace. I'd settle for world tolerance. Or world grudging acceptance.
I would mostly like my mom to get better.
I guess I'd like a job I enjoy more. I wish I knew what I wanted to be when I grow up!
I really have all I need. Most of the material things I want are ridiculous, trivial, and expensive....and generally not something you could put under a tree...and not something I'm likely to see (but I can dream, right?)....
....An Audi TT roadster, just for fun
....A Seven Mudhoney 'cross bike set up as a wicked cool commuter
....new carpets and flooring for the basement and refinishing the hardwood upstairs.
Well, I definitely what a whole bunch of stuff. I can take care of my baby's and DH's fishes. I know that I have big dreams and wishes which I am going to make for Christmas and New Year's but I am not anticipating them to happen quickly. Yeah, I am talking world peace, the end of AIDS and other incurables, famine and so on. But realistically here is my wish list:
A variety if spa packages, facials, massages, body wraps, hydrobaths ... you name it.
Air tickets for me, DH and our baby to go see my family in Ukraine.
New car - I will take Nissan Rogue (baby Murano)
Assos gloves. Basically any Assos stuff because I love it.
Tennis warm up suit
A gift card with a lot of money to Victoria's Secret.
Cleaning service for my house.
Find out that we are going to have a second baby!
Okay, this is going to sound weird, but I got this for my DH one year and he loves it. He sits and relaxes and spins. Also, bicyclists make excellent spinners, because they have the cadence thing down. It's cool. And it's cool when guys do it. You can get fiber from anywhere - check for local alpaca or merino sheep wool farms. He can then sell his yarn, which is in high demand these days with the knitting craze....

A trouble free transition from our life in the USA to our new life in Australia.
Hopes that my husband will get the job he is after and that after 25 years in the military we will adapt to life as civilians.
That a great house will come along that is in our price range and has the required huge tree for that beloved tree house the boys have been dreaming of.
Happiness and inner peace for all my friends here at TE.:)
Trekhawk - your signature just makes me snicker every single time I see it. Love Monty Python :p
Actually, this is not so weird! DH has recently learned to embrace the magic of wool...and he actually asked how hard it would be to make our own yarn and knit our own stuff! And, I just checked, and there is a shop just down the road from us that carries all the stuff and has classes. How fun!!!
Indigoiis - I think you may have a winner!!!
My oldest son (9 at the time) and some of his mates went to knitting classes. They made some wonderful stuff. I got a lovely scarf as a present.:)
Good health for my family and all of my friends. Yeah - that's it!
Happiness
Good health
To enjoy my job more
Enjoy a nice Holiday with DH
The one pictured is the one I got him - an Ashford Kiwi. They are very good beginner's to intermediate wheels and quite reasonably priced. My DH took two lessons and then the rest was on his own.
Here is a pic of him spinning.
You're in Western NC, right? I know of an Alpaca farm - Venezia Dream - just east of Asheville - very nice woman who owns it who is also on the board of the National fiber co-op. She could sell you some fine wool to work with! ;)
Good luck and have fun with it. Spinning is in awesome pasttime!
(I just noticed your in Greensboro... so not so close to Asheville. But I bet there's other farms nearby to you... including sheep farms!)
Peace on earth, and good will toward beagles and other little brown hound dogs.
Failing that, a Soul Cycle (with the Down Low Glow) from http://www.rockthebike.com
And some time to go ride it...
Tom
A cure for huntington's disease, for my 18 year old niece:(
to be centered during the holidays so i can enjoy them and put things in perspective.
Lot's of warm fuzzies
RAIN for everyone or snow
health throughout
I have gotten to a point where I just can't think of anything I want. Which I think is good maybe that mean's i am becoming more centered
