How much is gas today where you live? I can't believe the gas prices - today in Michigan it went from $3.36 to $3.69. I am certainly going to be using my bike more for errands, etc... going to Walmart, Target, and of course the coffee shop.

In my section of Ohio it the "cheap" gas jumped to $3.50/gallon. I will not be spending the holiday weekend driving anywhere.
It's $3.07 today. It dropped 2 cents since Saturday.
Wow, I guess we don't have it so bad here--it's 3.03. Still pretty ridiculous though...
$1.29 a LITRE times 4 = $5.16 a gallon CAD. = $4.75 US per gallon.
Today in Shelbyville it was $3.09. Just two day ago it was $3.19. I'm always amazed and perplexed by how rapidly it can change.
It was $3.39 in Louisville (25 miles to the west) today. Geography is a factor, I guess.
$3.12/gallon in upstate NY today.
Honestly, I don't know! I've been commuting by bike so much lately that I haven't had to fill my tank in so long, that I haven't been paying attention. :D
I did see a local news paper headline saying something about $3.22/gallon for unleaded.
I just paid 3.53 over the weekend for regular gas.
Sf Bay Area, California
$3.19 when I filled up last weekend. Haven't been paying much attention since then. I only look at the prices when I'm running low and need to fill up, which is about once every 12-14 days.
Ranging from $3.18 to $3.35 in beautiful Connecticut, home of one of the highest gasoline taxes in the nation.....
$3.85 to $3.98 for premium, which is what I use. I get much better gas mileage with premium.
But even better mileage with my bus pass...
$3.68 today
I had to ask some co workers about petrol prices as i've not been past a petrol station for a few days..
It's about $1.30(australian) per litre here in Perth. No clue how much that is in US or CDN dollaroonies..
C
$3.85 for the mid range unleaded. Lovely SF. Seriously, there's a refinery right there in Richmond. I don't get it.
XE.com says that is $1.16 CAD = $4.64/gal = $4.27 US / gal
or something like that.
We fill up once or twice per month, and always try to time it away from the long weekend if we can....
"no, the long weekend has nothing to do with the pricing"
H&B
~T~
Before going out of town on Sunday the price was $1.319 per litre. On the radio this morning there was suggestion that the price is due to hike up today and figures of $1.50/litre were mentioned. Apparently due to all of the refineries doing maintenance at the same time. (If it can be believed!)
Usually only fill up once every 6 weeks though, so it doesn't hurt me much. Daughter travels 70km each day, so $1.50 will really sting.
$3.65
And we are towing the camper up north to go camping this weekend. Although, after calculating gas + camp site + groceries, it's still less expensive to drive the big truck towing the camper than to stay at a hotel and eat out all weekend.
3.04 USD/gal in the suburbs of New Orleans. Due to unfriendly traffic, I'm too chicken to ride my bike to work - but do use it for short errands around the neighborhood, and will probably do more that way.
$3.44 for regular. :(
I just hate the fact our gas costs more than a lot of places in Cook County (Chicago area), they have much higher local taxes than we do so I just don't get it.
Yesterday it was $3.09/gal. and this morning I noticed it had dropped to $2.99...
$3.29 for regular, on the west side of Boise. We have parked the 4-Runner in favor of bike commuting for me and taking the motorcycle for Mr. Tater. The only time the truck comes out is for a grocery run.
Here on BASE it was 3.60 and we are suppose to be cheaper then retailers in the civilian sector, not this time. Thank goodness we live on base DH bikes to and from work, I'm a stay at home mother, so anywhere Kaitlyn and I go we are just hoofing it now, put her in the jogger and we are off. I just pack the grocercies around her!:D I'm just sick though, we are going camping this weekend and we will HAVE to fill up and that's going to be at LEAST $70.
But, it is serisously getting VERY concerning, it's going to really start hurtin the economy.
Gas is $3.19 per gallon here for regular - $3.50 for premium.
I had to travel over the weekend for work, and have a 70 mile roundtrip commute with no possibility of a bus:(
CA
CA - can you get reimbursed for the gas?
I get a per mile reimbursement, but with gas like this, it doesn't cover much more than gas (e.g. wear and tear on the car). I did 473 miles for work on Sunday and Monday (to the Bicycle Inn for a hearing). That's a lot of gas, even in my small car:eek:
$3.45 per gallon and climbing in Wisconsin:mad:
$3.79/gallon for premium, which I have to use. Luckily I only drive a few miles each day and do the bulk of my commute on Bart or bus.
The gas station on the way to work said $3.39.
At two locations you can get it for $2.99 most others it's $3.04 or more.
Earlier this week, $3.10 in the Philly burbs.
I saw an article about how people are now shopping less, but not driving less, despite the high prices. Well, DUH. Gas topping $3/gal doesn't make bus routes and bike lanes suddenly appear! Even if people are willing to change jobs or move to reduce commutes (and use less gas), that takes time. Entropy is powerful; things may need to get really bad before people consider changing jobs or moving.
We're moving our two-year-old to daycare in our township and out of his beloved daycare that is no longer on my way to work ("new" job, we've been driving 7 miles out of the way twice a day for nearly two years and that's gotten old). There just are NOT a lot of daycare providers in the area. As it is, any money we save on gas goes to a higher tuition (we had additional reasons for moving him). We'd hoped to take him by bike in good weather, but there is a nasty stretch of two-lane road with no shoulder where some IDIOT tried to squeeze past me without driving into oncoming traffic.
I don't drive enough to know any more. I think I passed a station the other day that said $3.29.
This summer is going to be brutal for us, though. I'm going to be driving with my daughter, her BF, and her cat from Minneapolis to Seattle. I'll learn everything about gas prices that I've forgotten over the years. Bleh.
Remebering 29 cent gas. Gawd, I'm old.
I looked yesterday when I dropped the car off for it's pre-sell-it-to-my-brother maintenance, and noticed gas was $3.45 . Student worker paid $3.27 this weekend, tho', but in the next town over. Chicago was the most expensive according to NPR.
$3.39 It's nice to only have to fill up every three weeks:)
This is a statement that I don't really agree with. Yes, gas prices are involved in the cost of nearly everything. However, in the long run, we will need to find alternatives. Besides, the economy does not really indicate the true costs of things, such as the environment, health problems caused by sedentary jobs.
Although money is the only way we have to compare apples and oranges, a dollar is not an apple, nor is it an orange.:D

Another central Illinoisan here. This morning, I paid $3.34 a gallon. Cost me $46 to fill up my tank. These gas prices are killing me. I have an 80-mile roundtrip commute to work five days a week and no possibility of public transportation. :(
I noticed $3.19 for premium, which is what I have to use.
I would bike more, but there is no safe route for me to travel on bike to my work, which is only 8 miles away.
its between $2.77-$3.07 here.
