Likewise ! :)
Me three!
I've signed up, too! I'll be visiting my mom in Napa in July, so I'm timing the visit to include the ride. Is anyone familiar with the route? I've seen the ride described as fairly flat, and the ride page describes it as moderately challenging. What's the route?
We had a pretty lengthy discussion about the ride last year. Do a search on Healdsburg Harvest and you shall see.
Thanks! It looks like Chalk Hill is the only real climb, otherwise flats and rollers. Is that about right?
Hmmm . . . I just might try this one!
Chalk Hill wasn't steep, just a bit on the long side. It's one of those relax, gear down, keep breathing, take your time, relax (did I already say that? oh) and you'll eventually get to the top kind of hills.
And last year there was a rest stop at the top with volunteers cheering on the riders, which was really nice.
It's the week after Death Ride and the PP will be at camp so I think we may actualy be taking a (wait for it)... vacation! Otherwise, I'll be there even if I miss the registration and go self-supported.
I'm signed up for the metric...
beating SK to the inevitable question
So Z, anyword on new bike??? :D
- jo "PITA in training" bob
The new bike frame lands at my LBS on THURSDAY!!! :) :) :)
I'll put a separate thread up detailing my component choices as soon as I get the final list from Chris - hopefully later today...
How excited am I???
hey, do you all have reservations yet? if so, where?
Funny you should ask, I made a reservation earlier this morning, just for Friday night.
The HI Express in Santa Rosa appears to be nearly filled up, when I checked the website this morning they only had some "smoking" rooms available (insert bad pun here). So I made a reservation at the Ramada Inn next door.
That said, sometimes rooms become available at the HI Express. When we checked in for the WCC, I asked if they were filled up and the woman at the front desk said "not quite".
pssst ... Dinner Friday evening at the Puerto Vallarta restaurant just down the road?
But just remember, what goes on in Santa Rosa does not necessarily stay in Santa Rosa.
I'm signed up for the 60 mile ride. I've heard lots of great things about this ride, so I'm really looking forward to it.
Ok - got a room at the Ramada Inn for Friday night also! :)
I'm at HI Express in Santa Rosa -- snap "anal retentive" dragen made her rezzy a month or so ago. :o
Well, we'll be across the Starbux parking lot from you.
And staggering distance from the Mexican restaurant. Mmm, margaritas
I'm bored. There are no cow pithing posts in this thread.....
yawn...
I imagine someone will come up with something just as compelling.
Flying moos
alright guys. i'm a sucker. i just paid up....now gotta find a room...
also.. should i do the holstein?
all these decisions..
What, you're looking for permission?? Okay, you should do the Holstein. Make it so. :D
hey, why are you guys staying in santa rosa? for the life of me i can't find the route for this ride so don't know where is closer to the start...
help?
i think 8 days away from civilization has hindered my internet skills or something.. can't find the info.
oh.. the holstein looks like fun but now cycling is starting to be more expensive than golf with staying overnight and the reg fees! oh.. that was me talking to myself. kinda funny that i actually "said that out loud."
look at posts 21, 23 and 24 above
oops, and post 3 as well.
I'm signed up too. And staying at the Ramada. And I prefer margaritas on the rocks before a ride.
The Puerto Vallarta does a nice margarita on the rocks, with lots of electrolyes around the rim of the glass.
Well, looks like I'm out for this one too gang. Dr I saw today says it will be at least six weeks before my arms feel better. Good news is, at least I have a diagnosis. Tendonitis in both forearms and wrists. Never let it be said I do things in a small way.
I will probably still come up for the pre-ride dinner Friday, if it's still on. Anyone else not planning to ride is welcome to join me Saturday. I'm thinking of wandering Healdsburg (Farmer's market is that day - Yucatan Tamales!!!!) and probably visiting my favorite winery.
Waaa ! :(
Well, the most important thing is for you to get better!
But of course. Margaritas and whatever. What's not to like? :cool:Quote:

Posted this pic in one of the drifts - do these braces make my butt look fat? :D

Awww.. snap.. that's really too bad. I hope you get better? What helps tendonitis? Just non use?
Hope you can still lift a margarita glass (or two, or so) with those braces on :p. Hope you heal quickly. Ya know, what you need is a unicycle!!!
