I have decided I need to get myself a vest for those days when a long sleeve jersey is not enough and a jacket too much.
Any recommendations??

I have this one: http://www.teamestrogen.com/products.asp?pID=10404
I wear it all the time, even on warm days, because it's so nice and LOUD. No good pocket in mine, but I usually wear a fanny pack anyway so that's manageable. The fit is great and it doesn't flap or anything.
AMICI VELOCI!! Actually, Terry has a Team Terry vest that's made by Voler & pretty much is identical to my AV vest. Multidirectional zipper, which I love. The only bummer is the lack of pockets, but I can easily shove everything into my jersey back pockets.
I decided that I really wanted a vest with short sleeves (hmmm, maybe that's not a vest) to keep my shoulders warm and cover the jersey-arm warmer gap. So I took a loud yellow cycling jacket (that I hated because it wasn't breathable enough and I get sweaty inside it) and cut it down to short sleeves. Now I love it and I don't get all sweaty inside it. I do wish it had rear pockets because I can't reach my jersey pockets when I wear it. Maybe I should sew on some pockets.
Yeah... I want a vest with pockets too. My vest for visibility is great and has pockets, but it's not very warm.

This one looks good to me.

I have this one: http://www.teamestrogen.com/products.asp?pID=16078
It fits like a dream. It also layers nice under a windbreaker for a colder day. I also have the very lightweight shebeest wind vest too which I also love (like the side zip pockets on both, great for grabbing a gel on the bike).
I have a wool one from Woolrich that they don't make anymore, which is great on the bike.
This one is kinda like it: http://woolrich.com/CGI-BIN/LANSAWEB...948056+PRD+ENG Not bad for $39.
This one is even cheaper, a lighter weight boiled wool and no pockets. Not bad for $31. http://woolrich.com/CGI-BIN/LANSAWEB...948056+PRD+ENG
I have the SheBeest WindPro JACKET and I just LOVE it. Stretchy, with fleece inside and warm but not sweaty like a windbreaker can be. Sleek fit. Good pockets. So I second the vote for SB Woindpro vest based on that.
I also have an Ibex Switchback merino vest in Persimmon (traffic visible) and that is VERY warm and has 2 hand pockets but none in back.
For the record, this is the other wind vest I like for warmer days (50-60s).

I use the sheebeest wind pro vest for temps in the 40s over a long sleeve jersey, and for the 30s I layer a goretex shell over it. For 50s-60s I use the lighter wind vest. The wind pro is also available in yellow from some sources (but not TE :( ). Lisa, I WISH I bought the wind pro jacket. At the time I struggled which to get since I live in a wamer climate, but now I wish I had both they are such nice garments. I also like the vest for non-cycling layering too under a rain shell when it is cold outside.
I really like jackets with zip-off sleeves that convert to vests.
I have one similar to this (in yellow).

Hey thanks for the reminder. I have a jacket with zip off sleeves and it has a pocket!

Hey Ladies
Im still looking at vest options and wonder if any of you lovely ladies have the Showers Pass vest. I like the idea of being able to stow my vest in my jersey pocket if I need to.
If you do have this vest how do you like the fit (I am never sure about unisex fit)?
Thanks
Does anyone have the NightLife vest available from Terry?:

I'm thinking of getting one but not sure about the cut and fit. Is it squarish or sleek? Is it a windbreaker type fabric or more like wind-fleece?
I have the Nightlife jersey and it's really nice, but not sure if it's the same as their vest. Kind of pricey, so I hesitate. Anyone own one?
Lisa, I have the jacket and wear it when I go running. It's a nylon fabric--not fleece--and is very lightweight. I'm assuming that the vest and jacket are the same fabric. Perfect for a top layer. I've worn it in below freezing temps on top of a base and mid layer, and I've been quite toasty. You can't beat it for visibility, which I'm sure you know since you have the jersey.
I have been tempted to put the vest on my Birthday wish list. If you decide to buy it, could you please post a review?
I have a jacket with detachable sleeves that I love. For the money, this was the best thing that I purchased for winter riding. I truly does stop the wind. On even the coldest days, I just wear a thin base layer, jersey and this jacket. More than that, and I'm too warm. There's a pocket in the back for storage or you can stow the jacket inside the pocket and it to your bike if it gets really warm. It also has two side pockets.
