A sad day.............
A sad day for me today, I discovered my little boy (Bluey) on the bottom of his cage.
I suppose eleven years old for a budgie is quite good, especially as during the last couple of years he has only been able to limp about on one foot. I regularly had him checked out with my vet and she agreed, he was always chirping, eating and drinking well and in the last year, use to come up to the front of his cage to have his tummy tickled.
I slowly lifted him out of his cage and cuddled him and gave him a kiss on his head and just sobbed.
Later I found the perfect spot in the garden, quite funny as I am not religious, however, while holding him I did look up to the sky and muttered a few words.
I will so miss that little boy.
RIP Bluey

I'm sorry you've lost your Bluey.
I'm always amazed by how small budgies are physically compared to the huge space they hold in our hearts.

Awww :( I'm sorry.
I've always loved parakeets - they have so much more personality than you would expect for such little guys!

So sorry to hear this. I've had budgies too (called 'em buzzards :p) Here's hoping Bluey found my Ben and Mickey to play with in birdy heaven.
((hugs))
