Pet Pictures!
I'm pretty new here so I apologize if this has already been done. I did a search and found nothing. I thought it would be fun if everyone posted a pic of their pets. Lets see what everyone has (dogs, cats, fish, birds, snakes, etc.)
Me, I have a 5 yr old retired racing greyhound named Toni. She is the laziest dog you'll ever meet.

What a SWEETIE!!!! My old neighbor had 2 retired Greyhounds and she bought them each an old couch (that she kept in the den), I think they layed around about 22 hours a day! :D

Nice idea, Ionic!
'Cuda, the dog with his paw on the ball, just donated blood last night, which probably saved the recipient dog's life. He's my hero. Beside him is Diva, who lives up to her name - sweet and always the center of attention. Otto is the gray and white cat, the youngster of the group, and Ted, the black cat, is my 14 year old hyperthyroid baby, who needs 2 pills a day. Yup, our house is full!!
Let's see the rest!
Namaste,
~T~

ionic...very cute!!!! we have a big rescue program here and i have wanted to adopt one but my life has been too hectic and i feel bad for the one i have...thank goodness for my future father-in-law who comes over to have lunch with ebbe...i take her out when i can...she is a little cumbersome except for leisurely rides!
these others are herman & bob (the larger one)...they prefer tandem! herman is showing how not to be...OTB

brie and tyler have a whole website  desertsamoyeds
and they "allow" the cats to have their little section  kittie kondo
their site is basically an online photo album! it hasn't been updated in a long time (i spend too much time riding and neglect their site!)
they even have a blog! (that too is grossly out of date!)  dog dish
here is one of the few pics i have of all four that is a decent pics (cats can be so obnoxious at picture time!)

Our dog is also featured on a little web page my husband and I put together of dog-friendly locations in Northern California. He is now pushing 11 years old:

Here's a closeup of him staring down my husband in hopes of a walk.

Cali, I've never heard of a desert saymoid. Very pretty dogs.

[QUOTE=mtbdarby]Cali, I've never heard of a desert saymoid. Very pretty dogs.[QUOTE]
thank you! the breed isn't desert samoyed... that's what we call them together! :) i had never heard of samoyeds either.. til when we were looking at what type of dog to get.. i saw a picture of one in a dog book.. and that was it.... i wanted NO other dog... NO other breed! lol!
i actually had to do some work to get one... hubby liked boxers and rotty's... i didn't like rotty's (sorry :( ) and didn't want a boxer... so i researched and researched.. his two main concerns: he didn't want a white dog he was going to have to bathe constantly.. and the heat of the desert with all that fur... getting the second one.. after having brie a while was easy!
welllllll their fur acts as an insulator to keep the heat out just as to keep warmth in! AND... the dirt just literally falls off them once they dry... if it rains and they get muddy.. just let them dry and where ever they are laying... you'll find all the sand!
their worst two vices: shedding and digging... we can live with both of those! :D

I was going to start a similar thread asking about everyone's pets. As in what sort of animals have/do you keep.
My list is long and varied. Dogs, cats, turtles, fish, a blue-tailed lizard, a packrat, chickens, and horses. I'm sure I'm leaving out something.
Anyway, pics:
Carmen. Our current cat. She's grown considerably since this picture was taken.
Monty. In the basket on DH's bike.
Vrka. I still miss this one. Perhaps the weirdest psych of all our pets - she'd been abused as a pup and it really showed. Really sweet to family, and the most trainable dog I've ever had. This is the one that I would bike with. A long leash, a high guts/brains ratio, open trails, and we were happy. No pics of that, though, sorry.

i wanna take my gang on the bike with me!!! lol! LOVE the "bikerdog" pic!

Cali,
The dogs will love it.
A few things. They really have to be well trained. No compromise here. I kept Vrka on-leash on a local rail-trail. She'd heel or run ahead (actually pull me) as conditions dictated. The cues were "Heel" and "OK" for, well, "Heel" and "go ahead and run." She really enjoyed pulling me. Bet yours would, too. They were bred for it, after all.
I used a harness instead of a collar so I wouldn't choke her. Just the regular one one gets at the pet store, as I recall. She would come running when I got the leash and harness out. Didn't even have to call her.
On MTB trails the dog MUST come when you call. And stay away from your wheels. I don't think I'd try that on-leash.
As I said, Vrka and I had a blast, but I've never had another dog I'd do it with.

I have a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Shiner. He is only 1 and still full of puppy spunk. I wonder if he would stay in a backpack while I'm riding . . . hmm . . .
The web site that I link to for photos is down right now. I will have to post later. :(

I can't post pics but I have 1 cockatiel, 1 jack russell, 1 australian/german shephard, 4 goats (various breeds) 2 quarter horses, hmmm must be more, I lost 2 birds early this year. I want some chickens and a pig, but b/f is not buying into that :o and I will be breeding my 2 female goats in another month or so.
