Have a GREAT time!!! I bow down to thee with admiration. :) I don't like being on my bike for 8 hours. I can't imagine 24.
Sending lots of good luck, happy bum, and safety vibes your way!!! :D
Hope you both have a great time!
Looking forward to reports & pictures ... :)
Whoa. :eek::D Good luck!!!!
All the best to the both of you! I"m in awe of anyone who can cycle longer than about 11 hours much less 24! Sleep deprived? How do you ever manage to stay awake for such a long time on a 2 wheeled machine?:eek:
WOW :D!!!! 24 hours ... major props. that's so cool.
Good luck!!!
Randonneurs do it...Susan, my husband did 300, 400, and 600k rides this summer. The longest stretch of time he rode without any sleep was on the 400, for 23 hours and 43 minutes. Take heart---he always felt more energized and better when it got dark.
Best Wishes on the trek! I'm quite impressed!
Wow!!! I'll be thinking of you and sending you fast vibes (and stay awake vibes as well)!! Good luck. I'm in awe, too.
Whoa!
I am tired just thinking about it! Good luck and can't wait to here the report...the good, the bad and the UGLY!
Good luck!!!
A well-timed Rockstar or Redbull can't be more highly recommended. I like them after 12 hours into the ride, and then another 6 hours later...
Good luck! I can't imagine doing such a thing. Somewhere along the way, I think I'd just fall over
Yay Susan!! It'll be fun. My BF is doing the 24 so I'll likely see you a lot through the night. He says he gets energized when the sun goes down too.
The 12 is a little more civilized... I'll get to eat a proper dinner and drink beer at least while I watch you crazy 24 hour people come through. I'm looking forward to be a spectator when the sun goes down.
Good luck!!
Very Short Story:
187 miles and 17,000+ feet of elevation gain in 16 hours. Then I called it a night. But I'm OK with that. This is the most elevation I've ever done in a day. Plus, it was 100 degrees on the pavement at 3pm.
More later. Right now, I need a nap....
