I received an information catalog from Selle SMP and saw these awesome bib shorts with a zipper in the crotch.
Does anyone have these?? I'm very interested to know how they work out. A zipper seems like such a good idea for long rides.... :p

Where, uhm, exactly does the zipper go?
Everywhere I can think of that would be convenient also seems painful...?
-- gnat!
I see a whole new thread on zipper sores coming. Ouch!
I see a zipper working for guys, but how does a zipper work for girls? It isn't like we can umm how else should I say this..just whip it out?
Had to look it up to get an idea:

(!)
I would rather get the LG bibs that have the straps that unhook! Seems much comfier. This looks way to confusing and painful to me!(must of been a man's idea!!)
Looks just a little like something from Fredericks of Hollywood (or whatever those old porny stores are). It may well be very functional - but
Now I'm gonna have nightmares.
Me too.
Just thinking about it!....the riding on the zipper factor...the possible zipper 'failure' mid-ride (just imagine it splitting open as zippers are sometimes wont to do!)....the 'zipper hygiene issues'....hairs getting caught....the seam right down the middle of the chamois
....and that photo!
It's just so wrong.
Ouch.
I think the Castelli bibs have lost their top spot in the splitter division.
You know that scene in "Something about Mary" right in the beginning when he gets caught in Mary's bathroom before the prom..."We got a bleeder". It could happen! It's all fun and games until the skin gets caught. I'll pass.
I've had ski or mountaineering bibs that had that feature... and have some base layers that hvae the full crotch zip as well.
I get that if you're climbing everest or up on some mountain being able to use such a zipper's probably a lot more comfortable... and it's probably cold enough, it's not like hygiene matters...
But I can't say I see why it's necessary for biking
