OK, dumb question but what is LOL on their website?
Mimi, this contest is perfect for you. :D
I don't do LOLspeak. But thanks.
My cats speak better english than I do, and they can spell better too. :D:cool::cool::cool:
I never 'get' why the bad English is supposed to be funny in these cat photos. People send them in email a lot now. The photos are cute, but what is the bad English supposed to 'represent'? Why exactly is "I can has cheeseburger?" funny, for example?
Can someone enlighten me?
Would you expect a cat to speak English well? ;)
Personally, I find them hilarious, especially when paired with the right feline facial expression. But then again, my cats have distinct personalities, and I can picture them saying some of thse silly things.
Enlighten me too!
yes, I expect that my cats are more eloquent than most politicians.
Masters of few well spoken words. None of this i can has stuff.
I realize dogs are different.
See...now...the home page picture of the bunny in the party hat with the cheesecake..... Now that might have been (mildly) amusing if the caption were spelled correctly - given the general disapproving nature of rabbits.
And, as you can see....rabbits are much more eloquent than cats (or dogs, I guess). :D
I think LOL Speak is a mutated combination of "text speak" (with its use of abbreviated, shortcut spellings) and "Engrish" (which is all about the use of peculiar wordings and misspellings like you often find in instruction manuals that are produced by people for whom English is not their primary language).
I kinda find LOL Speak to be pretty hilarious. I get really intrigued by creative use of language.
Here's a guide to LOL Speak: lol kitteh :D
Oh, for pete's sake people. You're over thinking this. It's just supposed to be be humorous and cute.
For once I agree with SB. Get over it & stop thinking about what it's meant to represent.
Don't you have an election to worry about?
i have nothing to "get over" i just answered the original question, i'm not interested in painting LOLcats.
it's hard enough to paint what I do feel passion for.
