Goldfish excess
I have just finished eating an entire bag of whole wheat goldfish. Yes they are super processed and yes I am ashamed of myself but I did ride 120 miles yesterday with 9000 feet of climbing and this seems to be a direct result of post long ride hangover... at least they were whole wheat.
So please tell me about the crazy things that you eat after a long ride. It'll make me feel better.

day after a long ride
I eat everything and twice as much as usual
baked snap peas are my favourite. I can eat a whole bag of those after a hard ride...

but I really try to not give myself that opportunity.

I ate half a bag of cheezies tonight... That's pretty bad for me.
-
LBTC - Snap peas!! We're talking excess here not healthy!! ;):D
KG - Cheezies definitely count as excess.
You know those good hard cheezies you get in Canada, I can't remember who makes them, starts with an H I think... anyway, you can't get them here, just cheetos and those kind of nasty cheezies. There are things that I really miss about Canada... MacIntosh Toffee, J Clothes...

J clothes?
Hawkins cheezies. I have a soft spot for those myself....too bad I don't tolerate dairy....
Toffee.
I can do that. Next trip down. :)
Read the nutritional breakdown - those snap peas are excess! (except in small doses like I usually eat them)

Maybe it's Jay Cloths. You can't get them here. Hawkins!! That's what I'm talking about.
-
They weren't Hawkins, they were the soft kind that are like soft orange styrofoam that melts in your mouth. Not one redeeming characteristic, other than I like the taste.
I did burn 1500+ calories today though, and I'm pretty sure I didn't eat that many calories in cheezies...
J-Cloths. I have some of those.

After my 10 slow-paced and pokey miles (equivalent to 1000 of your killer miles due to my severe out-of-shapedness) I had a rare filet mignon, tossed salad with Ranch dressing, mashed potatoes slathered and swimming in butter, and a gallon of sweetened iced tea.
That was four hours ago. Currently I'm contemplating a bowl of double chocolate ice cream but since I don't have any, I'll just dream about it.
-
After my half marathon I replaced the lost carbs with fluids with a respectable quantity of beer, and a pulled pork sandwich with the best freakin' garlic fries on the face of the earth. And I ate every last one! :D
I do have to admit that after 120 mile bike ride with 9000 feet of elevation gain, I'd not feel too badly about a whole bag of goldfish. I did 1/3 of that and wondered if I ate enough.
-
Last night after our long hot climb-y ride I had two Klondike bars and a GIANT bowl of popcorn for dinner. Along with a couple quarts of electrolyte/vitamin water. :D
-
After long tandem rides, we go for microwave popcorn. All that SALT.
After I lose ALLLLL the rest of this weight...please introduce me to your cheezies. There is a kind of cheese wafer thing I can only get back home in Albany NY that I love passionately. I forget the exact name, but I took to calling them "Hanford Wafers" because the cheese filling is a BRIGHT fluorescent orange rarely seen in nature. They are so salty and so totally bad and I love them.
PS Wahine, I would like to hear a little about your upcoming endurance ride...
-
OMG, my other two favourites, but I honestly rarely eat them, are these horrendous Ritz "Cheese" filled crackers that my son has sometimes (and I sneak them once in awhile).
Also, I adore graham crackers with Nutella but that's only slightly bad for me.
-
Cheese Its:o
At least it's not Tim Tams:rolleyes:

Sour cream and onion flavored potato chips. I love them, especially on days when I've had a hard workout of some sort. I have to make someone physically remove the bag from my presence in order to stop eating them.
It used to be pretzels (particularly Combos or peanut butter filled ones), but I've since found that wheat may not love me as much as I love it.

Cookies.
I don't even need to ride.
