Aw, thanks! We should chat about Seattle. It's tough to travel and make it financially feasible for me or the participants, but if we have enough interest it might work.
Now Buffalo, that's another story! I'm actually from upstate NY (Elmira, Ithaca, Syracuse) and I've ridden in that neck of the woods.
I went to college in Buffalo and married a native. I spent many christmases snowed in there!
Born in Buffalo, grew up in Albany, went to Cornell, been in Seattle since '83.
Lorri, PM me sometime and let me know how many people you'd need, costs, etc. Happy to look into the possibility.
Dear DH's new bosses,
The least you could do is give us a little more notice and not ruin a weekend. Telling him at 4:30 on Friday that he must be at the airport at 6:15 a.m. Monday is NOT FUN. Not only are all our plans changed for the weekend, but we do not know how long it will be until we see one another again. "At least a month and then transferred somewhere else" does not tell us much.
You suck.
Dear New Big Boss,
Thanks so much for laying off Old Big Boss after 29 years of service with absolutely no warning. Thank you also for announcing to those of us left that 50% of us on this successful, profitable product will be laid off by the end of the year. After training our offshore replacements. :(

Dear Virus,
You have way way overstayed your welcome. Well you were never welcome to begin with. just barge right in, make yourself a home. camp out, never mind about room and board more like house and board for free... and then you thank me by making me SICK. Nice jesture. I wish you would leave.
Its been 6 weeks now?? You almost ruined my Cindy ride. well sort of since I didn't even try the challange.
Then I had to change my plan for the Wildflower ride in San Luis Obispo. Still hacked, feeling weak. Even with your help I still managed to do the 50 miler though I really wanted to do was the 75 miler.
Then tomorrow is Cruisin the Canejo ride. What do you do? you've invited millions of your friends so I'm really sick as a dog right now. And you have managed to ruin my plan for the fun metric century 62 miler ride. I think I'm going there and just pick up my t-shirt and come home. Don't feel like riding even a 20 miler.... haven't even been on my bike for the last two weeks. grrr!!!!

and a bit of a wreck right now with our dog Madison. Had to rush him to Doggy ER Thursday night and spent most of the night at ER. Poor guy has HGE (hemoregic Gastro???) horrible bleeding diahrrea. He is now at my regular vet. I hope he comes home tomorrow.
To the ER doctor at the animal hospital, Thank you for saving Madison's life and making him comfortable and putting me at ease. Words really can't express my gratitude for your effort. This is the second time around. The first time was with Tommy Tom cat. He came to you all torn up after he attacked a sewing machine and he was all caught up in it. We still shiver at the horrible accident. And you saved him too. how many stiches?? I can't recall... He walks clear from that sewing machine now.
Thank you for all the care, the tenderness and understanding you have given to our babies. And helping us with our emotions.
Sincerely,
Smilingcat
Dear university residence,
Thanks for the good times. I never thought I'd be missing my tiny alcove room, but come tomorrow morning when I'm moving out and once my room is bare I think everyone is going to be bawling. Thanks for introducing me to the coolest people I've ever met, and for being able to handle our combined demerits from the last two semesters (seriously, twice as many as all three UC residences combined from last year?). It's been fun, and we'll make sure to pay our respects every time we pass by next year.
-No long a frosh :(
No, but they're right down the road from us, and I know this kind of thing is happening all over in corporate America. Actually, IBM is one of the companies on the list of possible "partners" for our outsourcing. I don't know if that means we'd actually be training people from the good ole USA to take our jobs rather than folks from India, but I guess we'll see.
Hope you're feeling better soon -- smilingcat. Sounds wretched That's one thing I am thankful for...can't even remember the last cold I've had. Felt rotten for a couple of days in the fall, but that was due to my flu shot. :(
Emily
Dear smilingcat,
May you and Madison heal quickly and that you both are feeling well enough to share some much needed fresh air and sunshine.
Hugs,
Cathy and her furkids

Dear Mother Nature,
Quit picking on Arkansas. We're tired of the weekly tornados and flooding. Send some wild flowers instead.
Sincerely,
Tornado Tub Tammy
Sundial, you're safe! Glad to hear it.
I heard yesterday that NINETEEN people were killed on the OK/MO border. That's only 10 miles from us. We had sunshine most of the day, and a little rain, and dark clouds to the north and south.
Above average rainfall this year, and more coming on Tuesday. :(
