yuppers - it looks like we'll be overlapping this weekend. My MTB plans got changed so I'm going to tackle a metric century this Sat. I'll be thinking of ya hun out on your ride while I'm tooling around on mine! Kinda makes me feel so not all alone! Robyn, I have had stuff thrown at me while running. Once, I was hit in the chest with a 32oz coke from McDonalds. :mad: Another time, someone threw a beer bottle at me. But then again, I live in Lowell. Heheh. Hope the parents don't give you the "not my baby - that's impossible!" routine.

Well, I'm a middle school teacher, so there isn't anything a parent could say that I couldn't respond to.
Just came home from a 16 mile ride. It was nice out. Saturday looks awful. There goes my first co-leading experience.
Jody, can you give directions to the Hopkinton town green from 495? I have no idea where to go.

Its a piece of cake Robyn. Take the Hopkinton Exit off of 495. You then just stay straight on West Main St. Its maybe 2 miles if that. You'll go through 3 lights and after going through the third set of lights in the center of town the common is at the top of the hill on route 135.
OK... the supposedly sunny 70's weekend has suddenly become a 48-56 degree NorEaster. Wind gusts up to 50 mph and driving rain.
Have I mentioned how much I hate the weather in New England...
We're gonna need some intense sun dancing for next weekend. On the "just in case" side of things, anyone have any preferences for a rain date for our MA TE ride currently scheduled for May 14 @ Hopkinton?

We are suppose to get hammered this weekend with rain. Bummer. I'm free on the 21st also to ride if it rains.
Hey I have a suggestion. How about we meet at the common but then drive to Woodville and park at the boat landing. There are usually parking spaces and its on the lake. This avoids busy Hop town on the weekend and riding route 135 up and back which can be really busy. Its only 3 miles to the landing. So lets meet at the Gazebo and talk about it. You guys wanted to do about 35 miles right????

Yes, the weather stinks for the weekend (I'm hoping to salvage Sunday PM), but I will be honest. I moved back here from Tempe (AZ) after 16 years there and 4 in Miami. There's more to life than endless summer. Of course, I didn't ride then, but it would be too hot for me to ride in 113 degrees and the cool temperature of 90 at night. There was about 3 maybe 4 months of good weather there, too. The quality of life is so much better here. No endless strip malls and everything does not look the same. Yes, life is easier without bad weather, but I know I made the right decision. I guess if you moved to Southern Cal. it would be perfect weather, but the people are really screwed up--my parents have lived in San Diego since 1979, so I have spent a lot of time there. I hope this makes sense. Everytime I go outside and look at the leaves coming out on the trees, I feel happy. I can't really describe it, but after so many years with no seasons, every change is still amazing to me!
Putting fresh sheets on the beds tonight when I get home hun.....ya'll come on out anytime! I'm even learning some nice routes in and around Abq so we can be an Amici Veloci extension and scare the bejesus outta the biker boys!! ;) Heck at the rate I'm going, I'll probably even have enough Bikes for ya'll!
