Love the diverstity here....
So I started reading from the last time I visited...the drift went from Cornish Hens to a birthday wish. (Happy B-Day Salsa!). Oh w/ a smattering of rugby and Eraserhead. Awesome!
Just happy it is a 3 day work week.
Just getting over a cold (well, almost)
And looking forward to the dysfunctional family Thanksgiving event!
Hello, gang. Thanks for the birthday wishes---much appreciated! And greetings from Albany NY, where we are spending T'giving with my best friend and her spouse. It was a brisk 26 degrees yesterday but more Seattle-like today, at 39--I can deal with that. Going into the city for two days starting tomorrow to do the museums---the redone Greek/Roman parts of the Met, the new Museum of Art and Design, and the Museum of Modern Art. It's a little strange and a little hard to be back here with both parents now gone. But I seem to want to be here anyway. I get to see both of my long time best friends, and some other friends and relatives.
Sagittarius, not Scorpion--just.
Hope everyone's doing well.
Wow, Albany is only 40 minute drive from me!
Have a good time and enjoy NYC!
Yes, yesterday was COLD here. My cheezy 3 yr old original car battery died on me and my car wouldn't start yesterday at 20F. Today I bought a new HEAVY DUTY battery so I shouldn't have that problem now. :)
Still trying to let my knee heal and I hate not being able to go for a cold ride or walk. :( Getting more work done because of it though.
Ruby has been sneaking some other little lost souls in here, I suspect they are coming to the back door for handouts in the cold and Ruby is inviting them in quietly. I've been practicing tolerance and charity and pretending not to notice....these are hard times, after all. Portions of bread and cheese now regularly go missing from the pantry. sigh....I can always stretch the soup out. Trying to come up with makeshift clothes for the lot of them is proving to be a challenge however.
Happy birthday Salsa!! Sounds like you have a great couple of days planned, think about all of us that are working okay?
My father-in-law called yesterday to say he would be having a family thanksgiving Saturday to accomodate my BIL and his family. DH told him we will cancel our planned getaway to the coast to come. And so it continues this year. I often feel that we are an after thought but expected to not have plans. Hello we are DINKS, we have an active schedule part of the joy of being kidless we often do fun stuff on a whim and travel at least once a month. Mumble mumble. I wonder if my father in law will make some comment about how his other son only had daughters so I must have kids because I am the only hope of carrying on the family name by having a boy?
BSG how kind of you to open your heart and home to wayward guests. ;)
Bleek, maybe it's Salsa stealing the bread and cheese? 40 miles only 40 miles!!! wow.
Happy b-day , Salsa! Have fun out there!
Sending supportive butterflies to all of you with dysfunctional families that are getting together and proving it again this Thanksgiving. I admire your loyalty and tolerance in getting together despite your differences. I'm not being sarcastic, either. I didn't have it in me to keep up the charade, so I've been family-free for about 10 years now. I have actually chosen my family now. :o
Also sending happy butterflies to all of you who have happy families to celebrate the day with! You are blessed!
For me it's a regular work week, since we Canadians had thanksgiving last month. :)
Work is busy and interesting and changing all the time. Riding on the trainer is much harder to get those km's in, but I have finally broken the 3200 km mark this year. Next week we're going to 2 concerts (Metallica and Nine Inch Nails) and DH's Holiday party. We'll spend the weekend after that recovering and putting the tree and decorations up. whew.
Hugs and butterflies,
~T~
