hmm
I have an interesting bike shopping thought to solve. First I have to peek at the cycling facilities available at Curtin and what types of bikes are stored. I'm not riding my good bike there  Noone touches me bike  arrrrrr..
I know of a cheap shop on my way to the beach that may have me answer. Uni will be twice a week & it's a short hop from my house :)
-
CC, you're going to ride a UNICYCLE?:eek::eek:
-
uni?
Umm i think my post may have not made sense :o. Uni is the short term for university here in Australiaaaaaaaaaa
I don't think i'd be fast enough on a unicycle
-
CC- I knew what a uni was, I had a friend from the southern hemi.
Last time I was at the Walnut Creek Trail I saw a whole team of unicyclists mountain biking. They were on the extremely difficult Endo Valley. Didn't look like they knew what they were doing but they were having fun doing it.
Enchiladas and Dos Equis for dinner with my parents and handsome DH. I feel fat and mellow. Tomorrow is a 1st birthday party for my "niece". College roomies baby girl who is so stinking cute it might be a crime, should be fun.

CC - a nice cheap commuter bikes sounds like just what you need.
mmmmm. Friday night. A wee tiny drink of pineapple juice with a dash of raspberry vodka and malibu coconut rum. Then off to jiggle at belly dancing!
For once, we are staying home this weekend. The plan: reclaim the carport so we can park in there again! :o
Hugs and butterflies,

Hi everyone,
CC yes a cheap commuter or even a used mtn bike might be just the ticket for leaving locked up on campus. Get a heavy U-lock and cable or it may get stolen. :( Not sure how things are over there where you are but here the "unis" are hot spots for bike thieves.
Mimi- keep selling, and don't charge too little! :)
LBTC- hope you had fun jiggling in class. :D
I found as I started getting a bit older that it is wiser when i get out of bed to just sit up first with my feet on the floor and let my blood redistribute for about 8 seconds or so before I actually stand up and get out of bed. A couple of times the too-sudden change made me a bit dizzy, so now I ease the transition by a few seconds and let my blood adjust first.
I did do my walk and bike food run this morning very successfully. My right knee has been acting up though and I think I need to avoid the fitness walking (and certainly the jump roping) for a week or more now until it heals up. The biking doesn't seem to bother it, oddly enough. It's probably more of an impact induced stress. I think it's on the front side ligament on the inner side of my kneecap. Resting will help it.
We played music at our town's farmer's market/food co-op this afternoon, 5 of us. It's all inside now with this cold weather in the 30's every day. This is the new food co-op's first year open as a market for only locally produced foods- very exciting!
We ate home made real Mexican burritos with roast chicken and black beans, lovingly made by Magdalena. I bought a shopping bag full of local NY apples and I'm going to make some apple butter tomorrow for DH who just loves it on toast. Also got some fresh local organic apple cider, rye bread, beets, pea shoots, kale, potatoes, and red cabbage. Think I'll make a vegetable soup tomorrow too, while making the apple butter. That should be fortifying against the cold! :p

Hey CC I'm off to Aberdeen to see Canada play Scotland at rugby....well - Mr Bruno is going to the game and my friend and I are going to the pub:D
It's snowing in Aberdeen apparently.
Anyway - off to get the train.
Salsa - everytime I think of Aberdeen I think of your toothache.
C'mon S-C-O-T-L-A-N-D

rugby
I'm sure Canada might have a chance at scoring a few try's :). If they were playing The Wallabies or The All Blacks, it might be a bit different.
Good luck Scotland!!!
I think I may have found meself an older mtb frame to convert into a singlespeed commuter. :)
Full Metal Jacket is on SBS. The fist half of the film is hilarious! Many classic lines one can't repeat here...
-
So Bruno, who won??
It's a gorgeous sunny morning here in IL, and a balmy 14 degrees!
-
Yes it's in the teens this morning here in NY too!
I walked into town and back and had many layers of wool on. Stayed cozy.
-
It's icky gray overcast at my house, the kind of gray that leads to me wanting to stay in bed all day, and eat. But I did get out of bed!

It is ugly in Texas, grey and looks cold but I think it is 60. DH wants to go ride, I want to stay in the flannel pajamas all day.
-
Then compromise! Isn't that so important in marriage? :p
Ride in your flannel pj's ;) :) :D

It looks sunny from here. I have no idea how cold it is. I'm still on the couch. I just woke up about an hr ago. I had a late work night last night.
Kitties are busy snoring, just as their job description says they should.
Kit is at work. I'm debating getting a shower and actually leaving the apartment today. Or, I could clean, put a few things out of the way and put up the Christmas tree. Is it too early to put it up? It's fake. I'd really like to come home to lights and sparklies... well, I have the whole week off to contemplate.
Has anyone ever made Cornish Hens? My Mom has done them, but I have not. I am thinking of making some for the holiday since there are just two of us. Anything unusual I need to know about? Do ya think I could stuff them? Kit likes stuffing. They seem pretty small. I don't know what it would do to the bake time, if anything. Just curious.
-
I wouldn't stuff them, just use lots of chicken broth in a pan of stuffing on the side. They won't hold enough stuffing to make a good serving!. And make more than just two! You need leftovers. :)
