Is that what I was smelling that was making me sooooooo hungry.
I bet they were great. I gotta try to find some of this Namaste stuff. Sounds incredible.

Alright, I've moved 3 rose plants, uncountable tulips, hyacinths and I have no idea what the other bulbs were, a number of rocks, but not all of them yet, took out the flower pots, fed the roses with steer manure, did some weeding....and the whole time thought about how different I would like the whole front yard to be, and good gravy that's going to be a lot of work and a lot of $$$.
And there I was not riding my bike thinking I'd get more rest! haha
I am tired, and my belly hurts, but hopefully I haven't actually caused any lasting issues....After a shower and a nice sleep tonight, I'm hoping tomorrow I feel just fine. :p Wish me luck!

Hey LBTC. I was thinking of you today while I was running. Millions of little orange and black butterfies on the trail. It almost made me afraid to step forward because I didn't want to squish any of them. But the happily weaved and bobbed out of my way and settled back onto the little puddles they were drinking from after I went through.
Is your belly sore from your ride yesterday, from all the work in the yard or from your ride today?
Take care of yourself. I'm glad you're feeling better but take it slowly.
I need to find a photo for you from China. It's a picture of some really cool outdoor furniture that I think you'll get a kick out of. I'll post it when I can figure out how to resize etc.
Hey LB - good job on the ride yesterday. I spent the afternoon in the garden too. Weeded like crazy, cleaned out the flower beds and got a heck of a sun burn on my arms and shoulders. Just another beautiful day on paradise... :D
Wahine, I think the ride yesterday started it, and the digging in the yard probably made it a bit worse. Biggest difference is that during the yard work there were no twinges or warning signs, just after long enough bent over I would just feel uncomfortable, so I'd give it a rest, go do something else and get back to it....lots of rest breaks but at least two neighbours commented on how much yard work I was getting done!! :D After all that, it's not a lot more sore than after a day of work, so I'm counting my blessings and hoping I haven't damaged my energy too....
KG - I actually remembered to sunscreen my nose....! I hate that little pink nose I get all summer every summer! And now, the moment of truth, about to jump in the shower and see where the tan lines are!

Last long weekend morning. I just got up - checking mail, drinking coffee. Gotta go into work today to get my classroom ready for the week...
I am here. :) I just finished exercising and have the laundry going. The house is basically back to pre-Spring Break shape. It is snowing on and off again today. I do love snow. :)
Finally vaccuumed the house yesterday. I always put it off as long as possible.
Taxes are done.
DH is nursing a pulled shoulder muscle today, and I made us coffee and oatmeal this morning. (he usually makes the morning coffee). Eating Easter M&M's at the moment.
Taking a day off from riding today and pretty much working all day today except for periodically checking email and TE (because I can).
Gonna make shrimp over wild rice w/streamed local spinach and pea shoots tonight. :p
Got some ham hocks defrosting to slow cook with molasses beans later in the week...
Lisa, cooking sounds good at your house. I have to shop for food before I can even think about what to cook
funny. I need to sit and think about what I want before I go and buy things... mostly because if I didn't do that I'd buy the whole grocery store out.
:D
Lots of times DH and I will just fend for ourselves for dinner, or I'll just make boring spaghetti. Or I'll throw together a crockpot soup in the morning from whatever i have around. Sometimes we'll even have scrambled eggs or buttermilk pancakes for dinner.
But when I see special stuff in the supermarket that looks good, I'll buy a couple packs and put one in the freezer. Like good ham hocks that don't show up too often...nice fresh shrimp...some chicken breasts...italian sausage...pork chops...organic bacon....or local lamb chops from a little farm we bike past a lot and wave to the lambs. These special meat things I'll tuck in 2-person dinner portion ziplocks into the freezer and so I usually have a stash at hand. Because the portions are not huge, they defrost quickly for use. I actually make a separate trip to the local food farm store for the local bacon and lamb chops and organic salmon, and I buy a bunch and freeze some stuff too.
Then I always keep "base" stuff in stock in the kitchen that I use often- different kinds of rice, noodles, penne, mushrooms, tabouli, onions, beans, peppers, potatos, etc.
So with all those things on hand, when I find some wonderful fresh greens or good veggies and fruit at the markets, I can take some home and invent a meal around it from my base items and freezer treats. Theres always "something" with good potential lurking in the shelves and fridge somewhere...
