I'm afraid Lydia is not doing well at all, she's been getting worse each day. We are continuing the maximum amount of water injections and antibiotics, but she continues losing weight and not eating more than a few crumbs. She's been to the vet twice this week, plus I just got off the phone with the vet again. She's looking pretty bad right now, still walking around feebly, and we keep doing everything we can. I think the next two to three days will be the critical ones. :(
Here she is looking happy and healthy. What a sweet loving kitty she is. She was a rescue kitty I adopted 7 years ago from a cat rescue shelter. I'd greatly appreciate any good healing vibes you ladies can send to little Lydia....

I'm so sorry. I'm hoping for the best for all of you.
Hang in there.
All our best good thoughts coming your way. She is a beauty.

Hi Lisa,
I will keep Lydia in my thoughts. And I wish you well too. She is a beautiful cat.
Sincerely,

Positive thoughts sent to Lydia.
Hugs to you and Lydia. She looks like she is content and that is what we pet-parents can give to our fur-babies...
Lisa,
I am so sorry to hear poor Lydia is struggling, what a fighter. Tons of positive vibes from Texas and Heidi the schnauzer who really wishes cats loved her back!
Poor little Lydia.
Perhaps she's way older than you knew (was she a kitten when you got her?).
Vibes for improved health!

Sadly, Lydia is getting worse, she now has respiratory infection on top of the rest of it, and has stopped drinking and eating altogether.
My vet is away for the weekend, but as she told me, there is nothing else that we can do to that we aren't doing already. She's already on antibiotics, and any more would be toxic- the water injections are not reversing the downward trend- her kidneys are not responding and seem to be shutting down.
The vet is out of town now for the weekend (God, doesn't it always seem to happen this way?). We're just keeping her warm, petting her a lot, and giving smaller fluid shots to try to keep her comfortable, but she's having breathing congestion problems now and I honestly doubt now that she'll make it through the weekend. Poor poor baby.
She's only 8 years old. All this seemed to have developed over 2 weeks, with just the past few days being very bad. Lydia had a kidney crisis already about two years ago, from which she had bounced back with the water shots and switching to wet food. I just hate this evil kidney failure thing that kitties seem to be susceptible to these days. Lydia and my DH are especially close cuddle buddies. We are so sad today. :(
Lisa, my thoughts are with your family (human and fur-covered) this weekend. :(
My thoughts for you and Lydia. ((((((((Lydia)))))))
I'm sorry, Lisa.

Thank you ....you are all so kind in sending your good thoughts. It's a comfort. We'll give her another small water shot before we go to bed, and see what tonight brings.
I didn't really intend to hijack this whole thread- sorry!
