145.5 Small victory but it is down!:D
218.5 - down 1.5 this week even with the arrival of Aunt Flo this morning...
141, which is this period's goal for me.
I was very surprised by this week's numbers because it was quite a drop for me. Wednesday is my weigh day for WW, and I was down 2.5 from last Weds. I thought to myself - there's just no way I lost this much this week. I must be dehydrated. But it's held since Wednesday and I'm drinking plenty of water, so it must be accurate. I still can't help feeling skeptical though. Like it's too good to be true.
I had to go shopping last night for a formalwear dress for an event this weekend. First I had to try to find a nice bra, because I had to pitch most of my old bras, which no longer fit. I can get my hand inside most of them. This sounds great, but it's actually a little depressing. All the skin is still there, but it's very "loose", since there's not so much filling them up anymore. I always had nice cleavage as a DD, but now the skin is kinda wrinkly in a nice bra. I'm sorry, I realize I'm probably oversharing here, but I hadn't really considered that your skin doesn't shrink really so much as it needs to - so now I have no skin tone. In my early/mid 20s I dropped about 30 pounds, and my skin seemed to shrink pretty quickly as I lost the weight. Now, staring my 40th birthday in the face, I'm discovering that yes, I can lose the weight, but I'm never going to look as good as I did then. That's kinda depressing. IN my clothes I look fine, but OUT of them, not so much.
Sorry to be a party pooper. I really am happy about the weight loss and am grateful for what I've been able to accomplish.
ohmigod, am I a nut job or what. why can't I just be happy about this???
I'm going for a run. I'm sure I'll feel better when I get home....
I'm back from my run. I needed that! Endorphins are a good thing. :) I feel much better now.
Judging from the calendar, I think my emotions this morning are mostly hormonal. So, during my run I decided to look on the bright side.... All the dresses that fit were a size 8. Yay! My shoulders feel much better now that they aren't holding up the weight of those DDs. Yay! I can run for 45 minutes without stopping. Yay! Bright side, Susie, bright side.
Sorry to be such a head case this morning.
Susan
Congratulations, Susan!
You have worked hard and deserve meeting your goal.
As I said before - you are my inspiration! :)
I am 139.2 - exactly the same as last week.
But that's okay, because I am still in my new decade.
One more week to go - I'm very pleased with my results so far.
Lynette
Lynette - I'm so loving your "new decade" outlook. Watching that number flip to the next 10 down is so motivating, isn't it? You're doing great!
Susan
I don't think there is such a thing as oversharing on this forum...
I'm really impressed by how dedicated you all are. Any time I try to stick to a weight-loss diet, I obsess about food so much that I wind up eating more than usual. So I just try to focus on portion control, along with a few simple rules like fruits/vegetables/whole grains = good, french fries = bad.
And I'm just now catching up on this thread, so I need to toss out a belated thank you to Amanda for the concept of building a fence and putting the bad behind it. That just might be the mental image I have needed for years to help me get past stuff. So thank you!
I'm updating as we speak. I'm out of town this weekend so apologies if I'm a little later with it than I usually am. And I'll weigh in at home, don't want to use my sister's scale since I have no idea how it compares. Not that I think this will be a good weigh in, but you never know.
And congrats to Susan on making your goal, that is OUTSTANDING!!!

This is so exciting! As a group we've lost over 50 lbs so far and that isn't everyone recording yet for the week. Granted I've only contributed 1.5 lbs  but I think we are doing great!
Andrea,
After reading your post, I started cruising around the web looking for articles related to food cravings during menstruation. I found this one: http://tinyurl.com/2klgkv It's very straightforward and provides some easy to follow advice. Might be worth giving some of the ideas a try. I particularly liked the advice to try taking more calcium and magnesium. I'm going to give that a try myself!
Susan
Oh wow! Thanks Susan. Great article! Next time I have carb cravings, I can just tell myself I have a brain imbalance!
Lots of good info and I also found it interesting regarding the calcium and magnesium deficiencies.
Reporting no change from last week. This is the pits! At least I can start exercising again, which is one good thing
118 pounds still...but I've ridden twice since my crash, so I'm feeling better~
Things are not going well and it seems like they should be.I'm going to have to start spending all day at the gym :o
Sorry this is late, and I actually don't have a weight to post as I am on a little vacattion down in Florida visiting some family. I am sure my wieght is the same if not a little more. I have gone on 2 short runs. Boy is it humid down here. I am used to the lack of humidity in CO. I will post my weight when I get back home. I need to find something that will workto help me lose some weight.
Hey Susan, just a big congrats on how well you have been doing with your weight loss! And thanks for joining in and sharing in this wonderful resource you have created for the womens cycling community!
A few people have asked me to post a picture, so here goes. This is me at 165-ish. Taken just after finishing a triathlon.
And this is a picture taken of me this weekend @ 141 pounds.
Now if that ain't inspiring, I don't know what is! You're beautiful in both, but sleek and beautiful in the second one!
Susan-
Thanks for sharing the photos - you are an inspiration. Though - I have to admit - it's hard to notice anything but your big grin in the tri photo:D:D
CA
...what an inspiration to us all!
You are all very sweet. :)
Funny story - I spent 2 days shopping for that dress for an event I went to on Saturday evening. Say, 200-250 people, 1/2 of which were women. And wouldn't ya know, another woman showed up wearing the SAME dress!
Susan
Susan - You look GREAT!
You know, this past Fri night I came out of a sushi restaurant with my husband and saw a pickup with a big teamestrogen.com decal across the back, in the parking lot. I stopped and pointed at it and yelled "hey! I wonder if that's Susan's?!" My husband asked if I knew what you looked like and I replied - "not since she's lost so much weight!". Now I know...so if I do see you, I can say 'hi'. :D
(meanwhile, he's begging me to stop pointing in case the owner of the truck sees me and we look like fools! :p)
We were IN the sushi restaurant! Hot Pot & Sushi, right? My girlfriend and I were grabbing a bite before going over to Macy's to shop.
I love that place. We should do a ride and have lunch afterwards!
(BTW I keep thinking I'm going to take the decal off the back. Once upon a time, that truck was new and spiffy. Now it's much older and dirtier, and probably does me an advertising DISservice!!)
Susan
Holy cow...were you really? Wait - where were you sitting? I don't remember looking around much when we were in there. I was actually anxious to leave because I was worried about our pregnant goat. :o That's so funny though! (I too, love that place!)
A ride and lunch would be awesome!!
I was sitting 3rd seat from the hallway that leads towards the restrooms. We were sort of hidden from most of the room - right in from of the sushi chef on the far left of the room.
After my last post, I decided that sushi twice in one week was just the thing I needed, so Jeff and I went again tonight! Just got home. I don't usually eat out much, but I was having a craving (yes, it's THAT time...). I figure there are far worse things I could be craving than sushi, which, as it turns out, is actually relatively low in WW points. 2 pieces of nigiri sushi are just 1 point!
A pregnant goat... Huh. Hope THAT all turned out alright!! I actually know a goat farmer in Grand Ronde. She makes the BEST goat milk mac and cheese. :)
I'm going to ride Saturday, rain or shine. This time of year I don't get started until 10am or so, since it's too cold earlier. Probably do 35-40 miles. Wanna come? Might be 2-3 other gals along. Moderately paced. Even if we get a little spaced out, we ALWAYS group up again quickly.
Susan
mmmm...sushi...:)
Why am I hearing "It's a small world"? Dang you GLC and Susan!!
Susan- You look smoking hot. Great job.
I noticed last night the scale is stubbornly staying place but my thighs appear to be firming up thanks to a few weeks of running. So I will just keep plugging on. I must stop eating these kettle roasted ranch peanuts. :o
WOO-HOO SUSAN!!!:D
Lynette
Um...do you happen to remember the couple SITTING TO YOUR LEFT? Yeah...that was us.
I mentioned to my husband that you were there with a girlfriend and he immediately said "were they the ones right next to us?". We were waiting for our check as you guys were just getting there, but we remembered you two because the person right next to my husband ordered the coolest looking roe sushi thing....
And I snickered to myself because you guys both picked up the unagi nigiri that I had asked the sushi chef to make for me just 10 minutes before you got there! :p
I would love to ride on Saturday, but I really don't know that I can handle 35-40 miles right now. 20 is wiping me out (I'm SO out of shape). :o That and I'm sick today - so I don't know what condition I'll be in by Saturday. My goal is to get back up to speed (distance) asap...so keep me in mind. I have met NO other riders since we moved here because we've been so focused on the 'farm'...so I would LOVE to be able to ride with a few people.
Actually I DO remember your husband - he was immediately to my left. Short sandy brown hair? I think you'd gotten up as we were sitting down, because I don't remember seeing who he was with (?).
I love unagi nigiri, so thanks for ordering it! And the salmon roe is ikura. I love love love that, but they never have it on the track. You have to ask for it special.
I haven't made any definite plans with anyone else yet for Saturday, so if you want we can do an easy 20 together. I know all the roads out this way really well, and can string something together without any real climbing involved. It's gonna rain anyway, so we could do an easy 20 and use it as an excuse to go eat sushi.... :D If you're feeling up to it, PM me later in the week and we can organize it.
Susan
Thanks for posting that pic Susan. WOW do you look great!!!
Uh... SORRY. Forgot to post in this week. 171 yet again.
Susan -- maybe you can be my inspiration!? EXCELLENT WORK. You look fabulous!
I'm jealous! I want to have sushi with all of you :p
Seriously Susan, thanks so much for the inspiration, you really have been doing so outstanding with your weight loss. I can only hope to do half as well!
I will set up the chart for the next two months as well, will start a new thread over the weekend.

Wow I knew I loved this Forum and you all just gave me another reason to.
We are real women w/ real bodies!
Susan You look AWESOME and give me hope that I can get back there too.
Also I lurked and looked at the spread sheet. Believe it or not it really helped me. I have been trying to drop the weight gain from DBF's illness and death. I knew at the time I was gaining but didn't care because my goal was to spend as much time w/ him as possible and I thought "I will just drop it when he is better"
WELL it is not budging - in the past, when I put my mind to it I could drop at least a lb per week usually 2 or more.
I have been playing w/ the same 3 lbs for over a month and a half and I am still at least 15 lbs from fitting into my triathlon wetsuit.
Soooo when you start a new one in March - I want to be on board.
I keep thinking that if I could drop 20 lbs by the 1/2 marathon in June I will be soooooo much faster!
I am currently 171 and need to get to at least 155 by June! 3 months 15 lbs (25 would be better but I won't push it)
AND I would be able to ride up hills faster :D
