4. 6:00 AM is when you get up, not when you go to bed.
5. You hear your favorite song in an elevator.
6. You watch the Weather Channel.
7. Your friends marry and divorce instead of "hook up" and "break up."
8. You go from 130 days of vacation time to 14.
9. Jeans and a sweater no longer qualify as "dressed up."
10. You're the one calling the police because those %&@# kids next door won't turn down the stereo.
11. Older relatives feel comfortable telling sex jokes around you.
12. You don't know what time Taco Bell closes anymore.
13. Your car insurance goes down and your car payments go up.
14. You feed your dog Science Diet instead of McDonald's leftovers.
15. Sleeping on the couch makes your back hurt.

18. Eating a basket of chicken wings at 3 AM would severely upset, rather than settle, your stomach.
19. You go to the drug store for ibuprofen and antacid, not condoms and pregnancy tests.
20. A $4.00 bottle of wine is no longer "pretty good sh!#."
21. You actually eat breakfast food at breakfast time.
22. "I just can't drink the way I used to" replaces "I'm never going to drink that much again."
23. 90% of the time you spend in front of a computer is for real work.
24. You drink at home to save money before going to a bar.
25. When you find out your friend is pregnant you congratulate them instead of asking "Oh sh!#, what the h*ll happened?"
Bonus:
26. You read this entire list looking desperately for one sign that doesn't apply to you and can't find one to save your sorry old azz.
Then you send it to a bunch of old friends 'cause you know they'll enjoy it too.
...and now you know why I am sending this to you!
Well... I don't watch the Weather Channel.
V.
I do :p
I must be off my game - my mind didn't go there on the "hip angle" thread right away! Now - I must giggle every time I see it.
My mind went there right away...BF was in a headline in the paper today for his armadillo rescue. No pic! That was the best part!! Today his (squad) car blew up. I'm not sure what that means...
I bought take-out chicken for my pre-200k breakfast Saturday.
I had an EXICITNG bottle of wine tonight. Hogue Gewurtztraminer, $6.00, Wine Entusiast rates it as 87. I LOVE it!!! Sweet, acidic, smells like green bananas and oranges, tastes like bananas and oranges. Yum!!! I have to get more! How can it only be $6??? I hope BF likes it.
My new Crocs got here. They are bubble gum pink, not fuschia.
My new red Sugoi top got here. It shows every fat bulge. I am keeping it as motivation. I am SO off the diet wagon. Actually, the exercise _and_ diet wagons. I'm wearing it Saturday.
My new set of three bargain phones from WOOT got here, too. (like Christmas in August around here! BF also got his new Smith sunglasses from Steep and Cheap!) I LOVE them!! The base station takes up way less room that the deposed one.
I am out on the patio with Dill reading 23 days in July, drinking a bottle of $5 Shiraz/Cabernet. It's ok. There's sort of a breeze. It's 85 im the house. I think the tropical storm Chris is going to miss us. I hope it brings rain.
I put the Vitesse back on Lava after taking off the Blackwell Flow. If anyone wants to try it out- I'll mail it out to you. Now I covet the Terry Zero X.
Nanci--his car blew up? Like, exploded, blew up? Yikes! +++++++++
(Isaac the cat just inserted those "+" marks. He just has to be part of typing experience!)
I can't even bring myself to open that "hip thrust" thread! My mind went there immediately. The twin bed's still OK with me, but not for actual sleeping....;)
I still go to bed at funky hours, but that's cuz I'm working for a living at a grown up job.
CWR, hope you get some sunshine up there.
I got two gift certs to the LBS for my birthday! I want to try out that Zero X saddle, too. I'm going to see if I can order it through them.
nanci - have an extra glass of wine for me too. (if your still up and drinking)
I'm making chocolate chip cookies. :D
V.
how mean. :( you sending them out too?Quote:

So here goes:
Last night I traded in my beautiful Cadillac Deville with every option you can possibly imagine for a optionless Honda Civic. Why? Because the Cad had the "check engine" light on so it wouldn't pass inspection. It was going to cost me a fortune to fix, so I figured I'd get a new car instead. But what a down grade! :( Maybe I've just been spoiled by the Cad because the Civic really is an ok car, plus I'll get good gas mileage. It was kinda funny because when I test drove the Civic, I had to come home and make sure my bike rack would work on it since it has a rear spoiler. :o
Anyway, I laid awake a long time last night mourning the loss of my precious Deville.
On a good note, the weather here has been much cooler, mid 70s. Hope it doesn't rain this weekend so I can go ride--I really need that.
Its just rude to mention Choc Chip cookies when Im having a cup of tea and my biscuit jar is empty. If you drink tea you know its nice to have a few biscuits to dunk.
Naughty V.
I'm happy to share with anyone who wants to come visit.
V.
Hmm sounds like fun but with the kids at home and husband away I would have to bring them too and you know how many biscuits kids can eat.Quote:

One of the other mums I know who has her youngest starting school this year said oh how sad it all is and how will she cope with the loneliness. Hmm yep thought about that for a second and then blurted but I sure will be able to ride my bike heaps. I did get a strange look for that. I love my kids but hey have I mentioned I WILL BE ABLE TO RIDE MY BIKE MORE YIPEE.:D :D
I think it's very important for your kids that you ride your bike heaps.
1. It makes you a happy. A happy mum is a good thing.
2. What a positive example you're setting for them.
3. It makes you happy!
Yeah, I 'm repetitious, but it's very important.
V.
Thanks V and Im sure it will make me super happy.:DQuote:

I think Mr. Fish is counting the days until FishJr starts school (14th). She'll be in 4K - all day. He'll only have Fishfry to contend with. I think the little one is going to miss his sis bigtime!
PP has started having dreams about who her teacher will be (we don't find out til right before school starts). She talks about it a lot and is clearly very excited. I think she's looking forward to being one of the "big kids on campus" in 5th grade this year. I can't believe she goes to middle school next year. Crazy! It goes SO quickly.
By the way, V are you bringing any of those cookies tomorrow? :)
I thought maybe I'd leave some at the start for you. I'm NOT carrying them around with me. They're not the best I've ever made, but they're not bad.
V.
Yeah you should carry some extra stuff for me. Maybe pick me up a scone at Bovine, okay? And carry it around with you til I show up. You know, SAG for the SAG. :D
You know on a couple of my last couple of rides, I've had baked stuff, scones and such. They have sat like a rock! It's so sad.
V.
Not for tomorrow, but when I ride now - or when I was riding, back in the joyous days - I would go to Bovine Bakery and get their SOUP. They always have some sort of hearty veggie/potato/carrot/lentil or something soup that is SO good. Soup on a ride is my FAVORITE!!!
I have an actual interview date now - Aug 22. With my luck, they'll call about the job while I'm eating my way around SF with the TE crowd :D
I had to submit the title of my talk (job seminar). =-Now I'm starting to get nervous...
fish don't be nervous, everything will be just fine.
enjoy your trip and enjoy that food for me too.
fish! You will rock! And you will be so relaxed and happy after your trip to the CA TE girls' camp that the bee people will find themselves just wanting to be around you. Little will they dream that it's the aura of Team Danger that attracts them so...;)
V, enjoy your three weeks before you get back to molding young minds. Trek hawk, hang in there, soon someone else (you could only hope someone as wonderful as V) will be molding the young minds of your little guys. MP--I forgot to tell you that I saw a young girl out with her folks on a ride a few weeks ago, and thought, that looks like the PetitPois! Check her credit cards. She may have flown to Chicago recently. :p
how and where do i sign up?Quote:

CWH..I understand about being far away from the main TE gang...However i'm waving at you now! *wave* :D
I had a nice mtn bike ride today on my own. I didn't see a soul (i have a picture to prove i was there though...will post when the man gets back)
What i don't get it this-i (sometimes) come up to a log over but my mind & arms don't want to work together..my legs on the other hand are more than happy to move. It's as if something just doesn't click over...
Rock gardens, & uphill climbs are getting better though.
I'm out again with a friend tomorrow! 35km of fire road, singletrack along with some great uphill climbing!
