Mimi - she's engaged to be engaged right now. :) Being a musician is definitely a dating prereq.- there are few who are not musicians in our family.
Gawd, Jen, way to transpose the A and E.... ;) *exaggerated eyeroll*
:D :D :D
Hello TD. I'm back home after a 4 day family visit to MIssouri. This was the first visit of FSIL (future son-in-law) to my parents house, so had to introduce him to the Missouri and Mississippi Rivers. That's why we got stuck in an elevator compartment in the Gateway Arch for 5 minutes. My grandmother turned 95 yesterday (and my sister turned 52 the same day and I turn 51 in about an hour). Grandmother is doing really well for 95 and needing oxygen. My sister was demonstrating the use of yoga blocks, and my grandmother said "I think I can do that". She proceeded to hold the blocks and walk around the room on her feet and hands/blocks. She had some long hospitalizations/rehabs last year and we really thought we were going to lose her, but she's pulled through and keeps as active as she can. She claims she doesn't want to live to be 100, but has adopted reaching 96 as her next goal.
I just scared the crud out of my honey... my bad.
I sliced my thumb open and freaked myself out (SKnot stayed calm and got me paper towel, etc.). So, of course, I wrote a PM about my gushy icky thumb, sitting holding the nasty thing shut. Cuz I was still shaking and scared!
Poor honey called me immediatly asking if I needed to go to the ER. Aw, man, I shouldn't tell her these things! Especially when she's several hundred miles away and unable to do anything except panic!
Bad Knot, bad!
Knot, your son is sounding cooler and cooler. You raised him right if he was cool and calm and helpful.
Deb, happy birthday! Your grandmother sounds great! My grandmother had that same pluck, but died of a lou gehrig's thing when she was ONLY 92.
Kewlona, I am so sorry your daughter has a boyfriend. I was sure that MY son would show her the error of her ways and she would turn into the perfect daughter. My son is the perfect codependent. He spends all of his energy worrying about other people's problems and neglects his own. He plays french horn. Knows lots of musician jokes and rides a Fixty bike.
SKnot just showed me this FAB-u-lous video to "I'm Too Sexy". Fun for all ages! (and I've always thought Alan Rickman was a hottie for a straight guy and I have Right Said Fred's song in my iTunes... oh yeah.)

Lemon Demon (Neil Cicierega) is a constant presence in our house these days. He and his sister do Potter Puppet Pals. And he's quite a good musician and animator. Much can be found at www.lemondemon.com
Knot - ugh on the thumb... So didja end up getting stiches?
Mimi - I was thinking of the "good" daughter, not the "challenging" one. This one is a real sweetie, 21, artsy, musical, everyone loves her (also adhd, but it just makes her fun :) So how old's your son?
---loved the puppet pals video. LOL!

ring ring ring ring ring ring ring BANANAPHONE! :D <SKnot came *running* over when I started that video!>
KG - no stitches, no trip to the ER or any other excitement like that. Just a wimpy bandaid, the only one I could find. Think I should've "borrowed" some steri-strips from the clinic for just such an event. I'll probably have to steri-strip it tomorrow and wear a glove at work. Yucky cooties just waiting to leap into my open wound!
Gee thanks Snap, now I'm going to bed with that song in my head.
Here's another good one! Ooooh, I love it! And that's the kind of tandem I want!

Click on "watch this movie" kinda on the right side of the screen "Geeks in Love"
Edit: this song and video are waaaaaaay too much like me in real life. Scary.
Hey Snap - that banana phone video was great. It cheered me up no end. :D :D :D
