Urlea, you could try to make the daisy some sort of a bright red? Common daisy colour, and all-around gorgeous. :)
(Not sure about the background colour though.)

I love this one too. I know the colours aren't hi-viz, but they really appeal to me. Heck, I'd wear this to work!
I also like ttaylor's eye-catching green-to-red design, love the bike parts, but I'd like the "She Rides" graphic blended into the background more or tweaked a little. Centered, mayb?
Hm? I wonder if NSA is somehow involved, shutting out web sites like they do in China ...? So I can see it from here in Norway, but nobody in the US can ..?
Anyhoo, if you google for images of wild sunflowers, it's the first one on the list. Or, just look at Oak Leaf's avatar. The one I googled is a photo with focus-fading and thus a bit more similar to Urlea's greytone (now also greentone) jersey design, but Oak Leaf's avatar does show that flowers at least very similar to the ones in the design do come in bright yellow. I get Urlea's point about daisies rather than sunflowers, but daisies aren't grey or green either. They do come white with bright yellow centers, so why not white with yellow centers and yellow background? Or just go with yellow because who cares about representational art anyway? ;)
and now, here's that picture:
My Amici Veloci jersey is my favorite because of the fit, but mainly of the design and colors. When I say ttaylor's jersey that is what I thought of first. I really like it. I love the saying in the back also.
I also like Urlea's jersey because of the petal idea.
Although I did not post before, every day I say a jersey that I thought was great. The choices are getting harder & harder to end up picking just one.

Urlea- I like the green, very calm. It is very hard to make it bright enough and still pretty. I am very fond of the design.
Grog- I am picturing a red Gerbera daisy- that would look really pretty but I don't think lends itself to Urlea's design with the words in the petals?
Mine are black-eyed Susans (Rudbeckia). But the center part of Urlea's flowers does look more like sunflowers or black-eyed Susans than daisies (?)
Anyway I like the design and I think people will get the idea even if the flower species isn't exactly right. ;)
I would like to say that all of the design ideas are just gorgeous.
ttaylor- I was also thinking of the woman logo... but I thought of doing it with a chain ring. I'm not going to, because you did. Good idea though! I like the color and your layout on the jersey.
Biciclista - I love that painting!! Watercolor is beautiful.
The estrogen chemical chain is so clever.
Eden - the around the world concept is cool too.
I don't have a critique of any of them.
I am working on an image. So, hopefully this will stay open until the end of february. I hope to have something ready by the end of this coming weekend. I only have access to illustrator at work. I do have photoshop at home. It'll be a sketched idea, but probably not perfected.
oooh, this is so fun. I love having something to think about and work on for my own amusement at least! Gotta love a good project.
Oooooooooooooo Ttaylor!
Leaning towards TTaylor designs--"she rides" in bright colors with black trim is my fav so far.
Also like the world traveller..........
I don't like elastic, but learned from this board to use a thread ripper and take to a tailor to sew a hem.
Ooooo.... like 'she loves hills...' in the green version too! Such a cool design :)
Zen -- I like the pink and orange colors together!
I like the pink!! I have a pink helmet and while often I get on the "no pepto pink" bus I also love bright pinks. My favorite jersey after my Amici Veloci is a BRIGHT PINK Primal Wear with flames so I like it!
Please, no flowers!
My favorites so far are TTaylor's "she rides" and Zen's design. I also liked the one that Bat did w/the Estrogen on it.
I like those "sherbet" colours, Zen :p
Urlea- I like the green 'she loves hills' a lot... it's really fresh and I'd wear it to work if it was a normal tee...
Zen- I like how you have the swirl below boob level on the front- I think that'd be much more flattering
Mine's coming along nicely- I'm hoping to get it done this weekend, then you guys can help adjust colors and layout if need be!
I really like they way ttaylor, velowoman and Zen used the bold TE "swirly e" logos. Simple, yet striking. And the off-center placement works very well.
I wish jersey manufacturers would take note of the submissions thread - the designs are excellent, so much nicer than many of the frou-frou dreck designs coming out these days. :p
I was just thinking the same thing!
I guess it was only the "Submission" thread I should have been avoiding due to that "CRS" thing. There's some good stuff on there. I love the bright clear colors with sharp delineation - makes it so easy to comprehend design, words, logos, etc. But that said, the petals with "she loves hill" is pretty darn funny. We need one for rocks.:p
Based on your feedback on the fit of the Amici Veloce jerseys, I've ordered an entire fit kit of several Voler women's cuts to pass around the office for try on and opinions. (SadieKate, do you remember the name of the cut you went with?) The thing I like about Voler is that their women's jerseys run up to XXXL.
I'm ordering fit kits from several other vendors as well, for comparison.
Susan
I'm not SK but I'm pretty sure it was the Voler club cut.
Another great thing about the Amici Veloci jersey is the color. That bold red is highly visible over vast distances (I should know since I'm usually waaay off the back - and looking ahead I see teeny-tiny flashes of red :p)
While in everyday clothes I lean more towards the subtle/muted colors - and some of the color combos of the jerseys submitted are very tasteful and pleasing indeed!! - I personally think visibility on the road is of utmost importance.
The AV jersey shows that hi-viz need not necessarily mean screaming yellow, but bold graphics and strong/clear/contrasting colors do seem to be better for on the road visibility.
Just my two cents.
We did both cuts with Voler -- club or race. :)
Voler - HUGE range of sizes and style choices. Best armwarmers on the planet. :) I've heard some positive feedback on their shorts but haven't tried them yet. Unfortunately, their vest and jackets are only unisex (which I hate as a term; it's a men's cut).
First, we chose the SQ Pro fabric which is their "team" fabric and a bit more expensive, silky and luxurious compared to the Aries Micro Plus which is commonly used for "event" jerseys (I've got MS150 and the Little Red Riding Hood jerseys in the Aries Micro Plus).
2nd, we chose set-in sleeves. While loads of people love raglan, those with large shoulders and large busts get a better fit with set-in and the sleeve style had to be universal. My knitting design books even talk about not putting large busted women in raglan sleeves. Since the TE crowd is a wider mix of body types compared to a race team, it seemed a reasonable choice.
3rd, 3/4 length zipper was also a universal decision but we could have gone with full length. Either is great for those of us who wear bibs or overheat, and for the guys (have you seen how many guys like the Velo Bella jerseys and the "Ride Like a Girl" socks)?
Because this was a full custom jersey order, we did have flexibility with the cut. Everyone was able to pick whether they wanted a "race cut" or a "club cut." Race cut means slightly tighter, slightly shorter (have to keep the sponsor logos across the butt on your shorts visible), and have elastic. Club cut means a slightly more relaxed fit and better for an hour glass or hippy figure, and no hem elastic.
A couple of extra notes about Voler, you can put a "secret" message inside the collar. I'm in the club cut jersey in these photos. You can also see the inside of the collar (credits to Veronica's creativity).

Last, because Voler has their retail line (velowear.com) and the team wanted a red jersey, I picked a red that matched their standard armwarmers. When we first ordered we weren't sure if we could get enough people to buy armwarmers to get custom, so choosing a color that would coordinate with a standard color from their retail line seemed a good option. Fortunately, it was a great color red. I'm just mentioning this because I'm not sure how extensive your project is. I love having matching armwarmers. It's like having a longsleeve jersey without the expense and better temp-management options during the ride. If you wanted, you could stock plain warmers in a matching color.
The sleeveless jerseys in this photo are race cut (though I've removed the elastic from mine and Jo hasn't - we're on the far right). The rest I think are club cut. I wish I looked as good as aka_kim(far left) in mine. :)

Didn't have a picture of my AV jersey but for those wondering about the design....here's the jacket. The AV jersey's fit, material & design is by far my most favorite jersey. It gets a lot of comments.
WOW!
I checked out the submissions--so when is the deadline? When will we know?
And will there also be a sleeveless version. I live in Florida and almost never wear sleeves.
I like a LOT of them. So it will be interesting to see what is choosen!
Jersey creep-up if there's elastic means it's too short or you're shapely (or both!) :p :D
My hips are 37/38" and my waist is about 29" and my jerseys still creep up if the elastic is a little too tight and it is a bit short (I have a long torso) :) I suspect this is why some of us think that elastic is evil!
I hope Velogirl chimes in because she has her jerseys made by Voler, too. These are similar to the AV jerseys in fit (club cut) but they are full zip. With the AV jerseys, my Velogirls jerseys are my favorites. It's a treat to wear them, so I have them for my long or "special" rides.
Who did the AV design? Whoever came up w/that design really should submit something (hinthint)---unless they already have and I haven't gotten to that thread yet.
Ha-ha! My life is not my own at the moment so creativity is hard to come by. Thanks for the compliment. :D
Wow! There are so many cute ideas. I don't have a creative bone in my body, but I love, love, love the one by ttaylor508 that has the neon yellow, green and orange with the big gear graphic. I ride on busy roads where I want to be seen and the brighter, neon colors help me to stick out.
Also, no elastic and 3/4 zipper are my preferences. My elastic bottom jerseys all bunch up on my backside :o ...lovely.
Can't wait to see the winner!
I love this red gold and green jersey also with the big gear graphic- however the "she rides" I fear would get comments of an unwanted nature from passing motorists!!
I think the design stands by itself and does not need an words written on the upper back section where it currently says "she rides". The deisgn is strong enough that that is just an unwanted distraction for me. If those words were removed, I would be first in line to buy this jersey in both sleeved and sleeveless I think.
With elastic :-) doesnt have to have tight elastic - just enough so it doesnt hang lifelessly at the bottom
Amazing design ttaylor508! Fab colours--
batsheva
Bat - you make a good point. I think the "she rides" doesn't enhance the design. Since I ride alone, I'd prefer not to be so easily identified as a female.
Yep - I would agree with the "She Rides:... I didn't really think about it when I was first admiring the colors and the big graphic of the gears. I always ride with my DH and that sort of stuff doesn't cross my mind, although all of us should always remember that there are crazies out there that we don't want to focus on the fact that it's a woman on a bike. Great Point!
How about "One less car" instead ...? Might have a positive effect on drivers' consideration.
I'm pretty sure people can tell I'm female whether the word "she" is on my jersey or not. And, at least around here, people are far more likely to try to run me off the road than make sexist comments.
