Thanks everyone, I appreciate your support. Everything is just clicking this time. It just feels right.
You know, I wish I knew what it was when you decide to eat healthy and exercise for the 100th time, and then, for some reason, you stick with it for once.
Do you know how many times I have said that I am determined to lose weight? And then it ended up just being talk - I really wasn't that determined after all. It was just too hard!
But this time, it just felt different - I really am doing it - I really am determined. So what makes it different this time? I don't have a clue.
Not that I am complaining - I am thrilled that the weight is actually starting to come off.
So, has this also happened to you - you say you want to eat healthier, exercise more, etc but you really don't do it? And then all of the sudden, you just say, "No More" and you actually do it? What is it that is different between the two?
Anyway, I am going to keep the ball rolling - my new goal is to get to 135. I figure goals of 5 pounds are doable and will keep me motivated.

Kerry -
3 pounds? C'mon girl, you can do this - I have faith in you! :)
A Very Determined Lynette
Yes Lynette, I can lose those 3 lbs. Thanks for the boost of confidence! Of course, we're having a terrible heat wave here this weekend, so there won't be much outside activity.

Check this out...I'm posting a loss for two weeks in a row! 167.6 this week.
I'm worried about next week since I'm now sick, so no long rides this weekend and I don't know when I'll be back to 'normal'. But I'll just keep, keepin' on...
I'll post an updated chart tomorrow!
I haven't weighed in for a week ro two but nothign much has changed.
I just wanted to post this interesting link that might work for a spreadsheet fot this or some other challenge. This is just a test link. Let me know if it works. You can set it up so anyone can edit it too. You can invite people and make it private or leave it open like I did for this test one.

Hey GLC n all,
My last two weigh ins (5/29 and 6/6) were both 190.0. Man, it just does not want to go. I ditched the weight watcher point system. It makes it too easy to eat packaged food which makes me feel yucky. Just trying to eat right and not obsess over the calories and focus on portions. Didn't get really any riding in last week as I was out of town. AND IT IS SO HOTTTTT !!! Where did this come from?! Gack!
No change for me this week. :( But I finally got to a spin class last night and i'm gearing up to go for a walk. And day two of only one Mt. Dew a day (huge accomplishment for me!). So I'm hoping for a better week next week!
Sorry for the delay!!

125 for me last week. 124.5 for me this week.
happy thing is i think i'm replacing the bit of pudge i had with muscle. warm beautiful weather helps! :)
Just back from two days of travelling. I managed to stick to my plans:
Breakfast buffet: no more than I'd've eaten at home
Lunch: simple sandwich, fruit, lots of water and tea
Snacks: fruit, water, tea
Restaurant dinner: salad (chicken caesar), water, glass of wine, coffee
Exercize: well, I was lucky in that the hotel was having its elevator replaced, and my room was on the 4th floor, so I got to do some stairs. I also took the train homeward from the airport and pulled my suitcase home up the hill from the station (a 300-foot climb over about 3 miles).
Dinner at the airport on the way home: sandwich, banana, water ... and a brownie I gave up resisting :o
I'll take a sneak peak on the scale in the morning to see how I did.
Yay! It worked. I'm down 1 kilo. Now at 83 kilos (which I think=182.6 lbs)
I don't know how it happened, but I lost a bit too! Down to 206.0 this time despite spending most of the week at the computer. I did get a long bike ride in yesterday, though. Totally un-planned. The trains were down and I had to cycle most of the way home. Probably about 24 miles, in jeans and trainers and with no water bottle because I hadn't planned on cycling. Today I am risking a trip in to work again, but I'm going prepared. I've got cycling gear in my bag and two water bottles.
172.8 this week- :(
Anybody else struggling?
227.0 for me this week. Yep - we've had lots of 100+ degree days, and now we have smoke from wildfires east of us, so the air quality is really bad. Not good for exercising...

139.6 again.
But that is okay. I measured my waist today and it is 2 inches smaller than when I started.
That means that I am losing inches and building muscle.
That is a GOOD THING!!!:D

146 this morning. (The scale went 145...145...146. Argh)
Before my race I had bounced up to 149. The day after I was 144. But I knew that wouldn't stick. So I'm happy with 146.
148 lbs this week!
Still not really able to eat much since my gum tissue is still swollen. But I did manage to eat two cheeseburgers and a big plate of pasta this week. Well...I swallowed most of it without chewing. A hungry girl's gotta eat! Soup just doesn't cut it.
Not a good week. Aunt Flo showed up and brought more luggage than normal. I feel so bloated that almost think I can hear the extra water sloshing around. And Mother Nature is being horrible too. It has rained every day this week during the times I have available to ride. I decided that I was going to ride in the rain last night as long as there wasn't lightening. Then they issued a flood warning. It was raining so hard I think the neighbors started building an arc. ::sigh:: Up to 179.5.
189.2 lbs
Another less then stellar week. Getting consistent miles is proving very difficult this summer. I'm hold steady on the diet, but it requires riding more!
Thanks
164.
I'm going nowhere in a hurry. Really struggling to work enough rides into my schedule, and too many food challenges.
I'm up a bit: 167.4.
Figures - I had nachos one night for dinner, and ice cream two times this week. Alright -- Now I know THAT doesn't work!
160.3 ... just back from 10 days vacation - oh well (at least it was fun)! It's going to be a brown rice weekend :p
back up 1# to 150. Can't seem to drop any weight.
I'm UP 3 lbs this week, weighed in at 141 lbs yesterday. I don't know what's going on. We had a terrible heat wave earlier this week, which kept me from doing any type of activity. I've ridden my bike to work 2 1/2, out of 4, days this week. I accepted a ride home on Monday due to the heat index.
I knew my vacation in the Florida Keys would be tough!! I'm 146.5 - up by 1.5 pounds! I really didn't eat that bad, but missed my daily trip to the gym, so hopefully I can get it off quickly!
Hey guys, good work ... keep it up!
I wish I'd found this thread when you started but I only found the site a week ago. Dang!
Charting is good. I've dropped 45lbs in last year and half and hoping mtb will help firm me up.
Are you gonna do it again for July/August?
PJ
124 yesterday. 2 weeks till st. croix. been eating too muhc ice cream lately. :)
TABBY: Congrats on all that weight lost! What an accomplishment. I'm hoping we'll just keep going as our own little "WW" type thread. I love checking in, seeing the progress of others. So, I say, yep, and you are, of course, welcome to join us any time!Quote:

felt like it should be more with all this exercies and all- but maybe next week!
Tabby awesome weight loss! 45lbs is a lot!!!heck i'm having trouble with that last 10 lbs syndrome- is there a syndrome? if there isn't there should be:)
tam
I'm down a bit too, 179.4, but I feel like I had a really good week and I'm hoping it is the start of something. I packed my lunch every day, had a healthy breakfast every day (but one) had ony one mt dew (will never get totally off them, but on a bad day I can drink many of them) everyday, and cooked a nice "let's dish" dinner each night. Went spinning twice, went walking three times, and even rode my own bike yesterday (first time in ages due to shoulder inflammation). All and all, I'm pleased with my week and I'm hoping that I see more lbs drop off this week if I keep up my pace. This challenge has really helped me a lot and once this two month span is over, I'm most definitely in for the next two months. :)
Hey all -
I didn't post my weight last week as I was away from a computer all weekend. I dropped another 0.2 so that's three weeks in a row in the right direction, yay me! You want to know what I changed? I stopped 'dieting'. I stopped eating all low fat or no fat foods (except skim milk). I eat the WHOLE egg, I eat full fat cheese, I eat butter. I just stopped buying 'diet' foods and starting eating the real thing but in moderation. Amazing. Now, I know that doing this isn't going to get me a super lean 'cut' physique...but if it'll get me back down to a "normal" 140 lbs or so...I'd be happy.
Anyway - a lot of you are doing VERY well considering there are so many vacations happening. Keep up the great job, all!!

Guess who is coming to town? Time to make up the spare room for Aunt FLO.
Didn't she just LEAVE? sigh...
Hi. Yikes. I guess I got dropped!!! Sorry I have not checked in--been crazy here. Rode my horse in her first 100 miler last weekend-she did great!
I am down to 170.5, if you want to put me back on the chart!!!
Laura
Laura - consider yourself back on!
I actually don't delete anyone...you are just hidden until you catch back up. ;)
172.4 this week- again! :( I am definitely in a rut.
+1 on the real food, GLC1968.
Well, I'm now back up over what I started at. I'm at 182. The good news is that I know that I've lost fat and am gaining muscle. My clothes are fitting better. Why does that stupid number still have the power to upset me though?
Aimee
187.6 lbs
One more week!
144.5 lbs. The vacation weight "gain" must have been water gain... it came right off and then a little more! Everyone remember to stay super-hydrated if it's hot in your part of the country -- helps to flush out and keep water weight off. I didn't drink enough water when I was on vacation.
I'm back up a pound to 207. Bugger. But I am slowly getting better at eating right and finding time for exercise so it must start helping sooner or later. I just got sabbotaged by a bout of hayfever and a dinner at a friends house (why do people insist on plating up the food for you and piling your plate full of too much food and then making you eat it all to be polite?). I guess I failed the challenge this time around, but I'll keep at it one day at a time.
