Thanks! I had one this morning after my run and it was sooooo good! It was only 90 calories, too!! Honestly, I was stressing about giving up my Starbucks, but now I don't have to! Thanks again Pinkbike!

I am still at 147 - but I do have to tell a short story.
I do Body Pump classes twice a week at the Y, and have been taking them for several weeks. On Tuesday I stopped and asked the instructor a question, and she looked at me and said, "By the way, you look great. You have lost weight since you started and you look awesome".
It made my day. I actually haven't lost an ounce, but my body is taking on a totally different shape at the tender age of 45 and people are noticing!!:)
Even though I didn't lose, I ate clean and feel good. I will keep on..........
Writing this late at night because I'll only have time in the AM to post a quick number and head for work early... but I just wanted to say that I really appreciate everyone being so supportive and working to be healthy together.
For the first time in my 33.6 years, I'm actually watching what I eat very carefully. I'm not giving in to impulse or debauchery. I am on the road to being healthier. I've been fit most of my life, and fat as well for a lot of it. I just can't explain how empowering it is to realize that I might be able to lose enough weight to actually be sort of fast this season. ((Well, I was always fast on the downhills and singletrack. It was just that I always got dropped on the hills.)) It's only mid-February. Riding season for me doesn't start 'til mid-April. I could feasibly be down below my average adult weight by then. Whoopee!
And the AM weigh-in ... 197.5, down two more pounds, 11.5 from start.
CycleSutra - that's a great message! I'm so glad you're doing so well and feeling so empowered. You can do it, you are doing it. Reading that from you was empowering for me.
I'm DOWN this week from 148.6 to 147.4. A miracle, a miracle!! Haha, just kidding. I worked for it. It's probably just water right now, but I started using Sparkpeople and tracking my calories. I realized I haven't been eating unhealthy food, I've just been eating too few calories in the morning and snacking too much later on. And I've been dehydrated and craving salt so cutting down on that has been great.
Also I got a new yoga mat this week and look forward to starting up power yoga again. My old one has been used as a sweat catcher/pad for the bike trainer.
Hope everyone has a good weekend and next week.
Do we only have one week left in this challenge? Oh, my - that is not enough time!
I concur with everyone about having the support of others to help you out when you need it most. Thank you everyone - your posts are inspiring.
CycleSutra - you go girl! And nonsmoker3, that's what it's all about - Congratulations to you too!
I really would like to continue with a new weight loss thread when this one ends. I have a feeling that I am going to be sending out quite a few water bottles, though, unless I get my act together.
I started off quite strong during this challenge, lost it during my anniversary vacation, and have never really been able to get back on track since then. Just can't quite get the motivation back that I had at the beginning to eat nice and healthy.
I really need a clean slate to start again. So, here's to another try at this.
Weight this morning: 143
Lynette
Man, I do not like weighing in on Fridays. It's like my scale knows it's coming and gives me a hard time. Yesterday morning I swear I was 118.3 but this morning, it's 119.6 so that's what I'll go with. Same thing happened last Friday.
Ok.. I think the weight is the same -- 174.6lb. Which, I feel is lucky. I worked out more miles, longer swims, longer and harder rides, but my diet this week fell apart!
Sunday I will be going to a conference in Las Vegas with friends for 4 days. This will be a hard week for me -- eating out every meal, etc. I'll have to buy some walnuts and fruit and veggies for snacking on! Wish me luck... taking the swimsuit and running shoes -- I'm sure the hotel has a gym and pool, so at least I can get up in the morning and make amends for my culinary sins of the night before.
By the way -- do we HAVE to stop the challenge? I like the idea of a weekly check in long term -- sort of our own Weight Watchers' meetings. What does everyone think?
Jes:D
Down 2 from the 2 I gained last week while bicycling four days in the desert. Will I NEVER break out of this zone?
Ok, I did not record a weight last week.
After a week in CT (cold, no exercies, lots of food & drinking) it would of been dismal...then add a week of having a bad cold (darn that cold weather up north!) with no exercise (but less eating and no wine!)....I seem to stay about the same... but up a bit...118.2.
Oh well! I thought trying a contest with my partner and joining this would really help me get focused. But obviously I am not "internally" motivated enough. Looks like I will be buying a water bottle!
For those of you that are losing--GREAT JOB! Since I know how hard you must be working. For the rest of "us"--at least we are paying attention to it and the best part is we are getting our "you know whats" out there, on the saddle and logging the miles. That is better than many people I know. So keep up the good work!
So here it is friday, with riding plans this weekend (finally feel good enough to ride) and I am pledging to "control" the eating and drinking and get my plan on paper so maybe I can make downward progress on the weight!
Ride on!:D:D:D:D
I'm holding at 138.0. It was another rough week. Hopefully next week I can make a change and go down a bit.
Congrats to all of you for the various accomplishments!
Wow, a lot of us are doing very well! Too bad I'm not one of them! :p
I totally forgot that today was Friday, so I'll weigh tomorrow morning. I don't think it'll be good because I've not been paying ANY attention to what I ate at all this week. Not good.
I did start eating better yesterday though, so I'm on track to turn this trend around for the last week. I also think that keeping this going is a good idea! I can make another chart for say the next 8 weeks if people want to keep tracking. Personally, it keeps me honest to see the numbers on the screen every week alongside everyone else's. Of course, I say that as if I've actually been keeping up with chart postings! Oops.
I'll get it updated tomorrow when I weigh in, and I'll post it for everyone. I promise!!
i was 138.2 so i'm pretty happy! thought i'd be worse because i had two root canals on wednesday and only ate boston market mashed potatoes. maybe it jump-started my metabolism from my normal salad-at-lunch/salad-at-dinner routine. gotta find a way to weigh in next week from the tour of california. probably will not be good as we will be on a luxury vacation, but i'll try to be good. i like the way my jeans are fitting me again. dont want to lose that.
i agree we ought to continue with the weekly weigh-ins, it's good to be accountable.
Just down one more pound. 131, will I get to 130 and keep it there before the challenge ends next week? Like so many of us my weight fluctuates on a daily basis. I guess I should be happy it's only by a couple of pounds usually. I really wanted to get to a stable 128 during these weeks, so I'm a little disappointed. It doesn't really seem to matter what I'm eating. I can go on an ice cream binge and not gain anything, or really watch what I'm eating and gain 2-3 pounds. Frustrating at best.
I've been doing my own challenge, and am down 7 lbs. Woo hoo. Have to think long and hard about whether I'm willing to post my weight, though....
CA
You and me, both.
However, I think I am going to do a little better going forward. I bought some really lean beef and cut it into deck-of-card-portions for the freezer, the other day. Since I have been eating one every day, I have been a LOT less inclined to eat between scheduled meals, and I just FEEL better. Kinda think I needed the red meat (obviously the things in the red meat...I know many of you don't eat it).
I have to laugh...I grew up eating a lot of red meat, and my dad (who had the cholesterol of a teenager his whole life, like me) would tell me if I had a cold that all I needed was a good steak! OK...I don't use steak to treat the colds I get sometimes, but his cure for everything was red meat. I guess maybe I take after him!
Back to where I started at 163 thanks to a week of 12-14 hour days at work, snacks from the vending machines, and no time to exercise. Hopefully this coming week will be better.
Updated chart:

We are missing quite a few weigh-ins! I was up again this week, but not too bad. The good news is that I finally got to ride yesterday for the first time in 2008!! :o
My goal is to lose this bloat and get back to my starting weight by the last weigh-in!
I'd be happy to make up another chart to track us through March. Anyone who wants to be included, just post here and I'll add you. :)
Sorry I didn't post on Friday - I am the same as last week.
GLC thanks again for the spreadsheet.
Sorry, keep forgetting to post :(
Feb 8 - 141 and Feb 15 - 140
Yeah, sorry, me too. Guess I don't like reporting that I seem to be holding steady at 160.
Sorry, we just got back from Sedona, so I haven't seen a scale. I'll weigh in at the gym tomorrow. Think the weight will go up even though I exercised quiet a bit in Sedona, I also ate anything I wanted (like chocolate chip scones, and carrot cake:eek:, but it was vacation!)
oops, I forgot to post on friday even though I weighed myself!
139.8...going nowhere fast
bk
See, now I feel badly! I didn't post that chart to 'guilt' everyone into checking in! :o
I just felt guilty that I hadn't posted an updated chart recently!
Anyway, I did update it and I'll post the newest version later tonight or tomorrow. I also just realized that I won't be around for the last weigh-in. I will be traveling Tues thru Sun, so I won't be able to post either my weight or an updated chart until Monday, 2/25. Sorry! :(
And, we're checking in Mondays, too? I am not a very with-it participant here, as my weigh in will attest. 160.5 this morning.
Hey, what's a little guilt between friends? ;) And if it wasn't for the chart and/or the guilt, we might not do as well as we do.
THanks for doing this GLC!
And to everyone - if you're gaining, relax, and get back on track. You can do it! If you're maintaining - yay, you're not gaining. And if you're only losing a teensy bit, yay, at least you're losing. And if you're losing lots - super!!!
I'm going out of town for the next few days so here's my weigh in as of today:
140.0
I'm right back where I started!
bk
I'm back where I started too . . . 180.4.
This happens every time I avoid the scale.
I kinda took myself out of the challenge as I built up for Sebring. And, even though I apparently burned 9,363 calories over my 330 miles, I don't think I lost any weight. I also don't want to know if I actually gained. I'll start up again next week when I'm back to normal. Well, you know, relatively normal!;)
Urgh..that time of the month.urgh..I weigh 66.6kg..i know :(
look at this, an early post from me:D the bad news, still 140
No change, which I guess is good. Holding at 130 today. This sure has been hard work for a 4 measly pounds.
Well yesterday my scale said 148, today it said 148.8. I think I've just been gaining and losing water this whole time. Or it is all just one step forward, two steps back. It's ok, I'm not going to give up. And I've watched my calories this week. I've been staying around 1500.
Sooooo, who do I send a water bottle to? ;) :)
I'm 118.8 this morning. I think that's down a few ounces from last week. I haven't been on my best behaviour this week but I have been exercising lots every day so that helps.
No water bottles for me ... just participating has been reward enough.
Down to 196 a couple days ago but 197 today, just half a pound from last week. 12 pounds total, though, and I really appreciate everyone's support! Just another 10 pounds to get down to "average"... but every pound makes me healthier and I can't wait for snowmelt.
Well, this is brutal. 161 for me. no weight loss this period. been working out a lot, but not watching my diet. there have been fitness gains, but no weight loss, and I really need to lose some weight.
my helpful brother said, "well, if you aren't going to lose weight, why don't you start training with a backpack full of rocks so that when you do your ride, it still feels lighter?"
Maybe...
Ok...119.2::mad:
All I have to say is....wonder what kind of water bottle I am going to buy!:o
No change  This is my second week with bronchitis.
Back from a 5 day stint in Vegas :cool:of eating and drinking ridiculously expensive food, but LOTS of walking. didn't actually work out except for first day there.
Weight this am: 176.6.
Terribly dehydrated and that is why it doesn't say 186!
Back to the grind! It's even stopped raining here so excuses are over for the time being!
