BMo3, I'm thinking about butterflies that help you balance....:) I sure hope you can get outside on your bike soon, but I'm glad you've found that running is pretty good for you!
I am amazed at how different I feel this morning. :D The new massage therapist is a wonder! YAY!!
Let's all have a wonderful Thursday and hopefully all of us have a long weekend with good friday off, like I do! Yahoo!
Anybody need some soil? We've got a massive raised vegetable bed that we'll be cutting down to 1/4 its size....that's a lot of soil for just topping up the other flower beds.....but, hey, maybe they need that much. I guess we'll find out when we start digging tomorrow!
Hugs and happy butterflies,

what's MOTHERING SUNDAY????
blink blink
but i found a Simnel Cake
http://www.tpcalcake.net/home/simnelcakenet.jpg
Mothering sunday is Mother's day...
C
OH! Do you celebrate that in April instead of May? (right after the hippo races?)
Ooooohhhh - I'm going to have to try that now!
Heading home for Elizabee's easter party at school. Funny - I've always called her elizabee.
That cake looks TOO yummy!
Uh.. relaxed and tired.
haven't slept well the last 2 nights. this happens every so often. went to spin class this morning and it kicked my butt! going thru the day was tiring...
then i had an evening event with our ea.. and i couldn't resist. had a nice gin n tonic (tanqueray 10).
relaxed and mildly loopy. hopefully i can sleep well tonight cuz my hard spin class is on fridays!
mildly obsessing over whether i should get a digital camera for the grand canyon trip and for life in general....
i can't wait for my vaca!!!! only about 3 weeks....
RD vaca sounds cool...go get a nice little digicam, you'll love it!
Yup, I went out after work - first time I've been invited by any of my co-workers, so I had to say yes! I had a glass of pinot grigio which I haven't had before, and it was a fairly nice wine. And I drank a glass of water too, so that probably helped....we decided to stay for food, and there was, of course, nothing on the menu that actually worked with the "diet" that I'm supposed to be on. I had a swiss mushroom burger. I didn't eat the bun, so it was just the cheese (but swiss should be a bit better than cheddar), the raw tomato, lettuce and pickle....and who knows how the fries were prepared....
so I feel full. And I'll have to have a pair of girl guide cookies, because, what the heck, I just blew the whole eating thing anyway....here I go. mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
maybe I'll dip them in goats milk. yeah. that's a good idea
Hugs & butterflies,

OK... enough off topic nonsense... I have read and read and no-one has answered this question which was about page 3-4...
Are guinea pigs pigs, or are they fluffy rats??? Don't make me google this!
And... I had rice for tea, just rice and I desparately want toast but I am not eating bread at the moment
They are flufffy rats.
And they were raised indoors (in Incan times in Peru) as a food staple. I saw a neat show on TV where the archaeologists were talking about how some parts of houses in Incan architecture were designed with guinea pigs in mind. (like with double doors so the piggies couldn't get out) The archaeologists also sampled the current methods of cooking guinea pig.... I'll never get the image out of my head of this one chickie in her fancy mountaineering clothes, munchin' on a guinea pig and exclaiming over how tasty it was.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Guinea_pig
Guinea pigs are not much like rats. They are more like little goats. they bleat at you when they see you and when they are hungry. Their babies are born ready to run, with all their hair and quite large too. It seems to me they are pregnant for about 3 months; which is epic compared to a rat.
They are also fragile, you can't drop one and expect it to land well.
They are, however, rodents, they have the front teeth that grow all the time like other rodents.
They come in all sorts of colors, and have great hair, but I am not sure that they have much personality.
Doesn't marzipan stick to your teeth?
I feel very out of the loop on the D&D thread. Just like drugs, I didn't do that...
I wonder how many parents would be offended if the teachers who keep guinea pigs in their grade school classroom, also taught the students in that class the incan traditions around the animals.
The sun is shining, it's already above 10 degrees C, and it's the extra day in a long weekend. We'd better get cleaning the house and doing the yard work so our chores are done when we want to go ride!
Hugs & butterflies,

T-
Marzipan is basically almond paste I think- not nearly as sticky or bad for your teeth as caramel or taffy.
D&D- I don't even know what it is- a computer game I guess. (Down&Dirty? Death&Destruction? Darryl&Darryl?) I got intensely into Myst when it first came out (ancient history), tried one or two other games after that but it seems I had already gotten the computer game bug out of my system. These days I do other things. To each their own.
I did an google for guinea pigs to see their different colors and varieties, and found there were lots of pictures of South Americans roasting them on grills! :D They look kind of creepy roasted with their little feets sticking out at right angles, but I bet they taste good, maybe little little rotisserie hens?
I always put chores, housecleaning and yard work down at the bottom of my list....way after riding my bike.  :p (kitty gossamer tumbleweeds rolling by....)
Marzipan is a tad more sweet than almond paste. YUM! :)
I planned to make the Marzipan cake today. Yesterday Twin B (DS#3) made Danish Kringle using almond paste. Oooooh so, so yummy! :D
I remember playing Myst a *long* time ago. D&D (Dungeons and Dragons) I never, ever got into. Not my thing.
Well so far today I have thrown my back out, put my cell phone through the washing machine (I do believe that killed it forever.:( ), and broke my coffee tray. Today is NOT going well. :( :(
Not surprisingly, I was a Ranger sort... though I could really get into Clerics. our RPGs were VERY role-play based...
My WOW character "Aryn" was a NE Hunter, with moonsabre Jai. Got to lvl 53... I loved the game when it first came out, but it sounds more and more like they nerfed the *entire game*
*sigh* I'm also a Whitewolf (vampire the masquerade and Werewolf) player. Toreador or Brujah. Aryn was also my Toreador- wore torn jeans and a gauzy hippy shirt... painted in la galleria... Maris was my Brujah, with hand-etched dual pistols, painted biker jacket and leather chaps.
Then there's Cyberpunk...
I played D&D back in 1979/80 before computers. We had a grid on the table and block things to make the walls which we built as we went. We had metal characters which we painted. We'd start a game and couldn't end it until we were out of the dungeon. My character Gwendolyn was a Mage and she managed to stay alive long enough to get enough experience points to be relatively safe. I also had a male character named Tyler who fought for me too. It was handy having him along. :)
I have a feeling I could totally get into playing D&D again. If only there was someone to play with...
Vampire, Werewolf and Cyberpunk were all pen and paper... D&D, too...
KG - I bet there is an online game you could play, and seems like there's at least one person here you could play with.....way beyond anything I'd try to learn right now!
Lisa - that's right - almond paste. I remember that that's why I don't like it! Right up there with amaretto, etc. blech. Kind of funny that I like biscotti, isn't it?
BMo3 - you've had your three bad things today, the rest of your day will be good. :p Sending special happy spring butterflies to distract and cheer you. OH, and aren't you feeling kind of sick, too? there are few butterflies for healing you, too! Grab a nice book, curl up in a sunbeam and relax. You've earned it.
If anyone is interested, I posted about my massage therapist in the health forum.
Hugs and butterflies!
~T~
LB - not sure it would be the same to play online. There was something cool and sitting at the table all night with a group of friends, eating, drinking, and doing, well, whatever...
My elf ranger was great, but you know how weird little things happen to come up? well one of our quests was all in a dungeon, and she hated a) dungeons b) being forced to wear her armor all the time.
So after this quest, she runs to the shore and pulls all her clothes off. She's sunbathing nekkid when (thanks, DM) one of my friends' characters (who happened to follow his pet chicken everywhere...) stumbled into a group of kobolds who didn't take kindly.
Aryn pulls out her daggers and- I swear I have never rolled so well for a fight. :D
After it all, the DM puts the story together and everyone's looking at me, and it's at the point where I attempt to sheath the daggers that I realize -oh- all my armor's back... at the beach. meaning I'm... :o :o :o
After another couple instances like that, it became a running joke that Aryn was a better fighter nekkid.
...like Sean's character in L5R who couldn't subdue anyone- she'd attempt to kneecap someone and he'd roll so she'd take their leg clean off, or she'd try to crack someone in the head with her (sheathed!) katana, and he'd roll so she broke their skull. ...except when she tried to actually kill people, then he'd somehow manage to roll a critical failure. oops. :o :p
:o Fear my warrior's streak! :p
Reminds me of an offcolor joke entailing boarding a vessel... YARRR!!!!:D :D :D :D
solitaire? ack. Watch out for those papercuts. I hear they can be nasty, when from cards. ..unless you're playing on your computer. ...then bear in mind, sometimes, I swear, they make it so you *can't* win.
I love RPGs... Roleplay can be so much fun... a chance to step out of everyday life and *be* the ranger/vampire/werewolf/kitsune/cleric/paladin/techie/nomad/hunter you always wanted to be.
one could argue "why role play when you can do whatever you want with your life?"
...
because I don't think society would be ok with me just running off into the woods and being an elf ranger or wearing leather pants, trenchcoat and carrying a couple pistols wherever.
...and kevlar is just *so* expensive!
I like Kevlar
I dislike role plays
I had 3 eggs for breakfast and my sons are watching Dr Dolittle III
I love my kevlar bike tires. I also love my Lycra. And my wool best of all. Not too hot on polyester, but it has its uses.
Actually, I like playing Mahjohng on my computer more than solitaire. Very relaxing. Those are the only games i play on comuter these days, and not very often at that.
I just ate some good French cheese on rye crisp, with an Emergen-C packet in water.
Finished my work for the day already. I was going to ride this afternoon, but it's still in the 30's and grey- yuk. Think I'll just grab the nearest cat (3 to choose from) and go take a warm nap instead. Might make pasta tonight and keep it simple.
D&D ..my brother played it but i have no clue :o Do they have online versions? I'd play but due to the time difference i don't think it would work..:(
BM-Warm sunshine heading your way..
Kit..where's our dear X? What have you done with her? She's been darn quiet..
X...come back...
I'm still hungry...I just had breakfast and am wandering off mtn biking on my own in a bit..I'm going to see what i have in my fridge..
