good grief, googled Borat and came up with the strangest website..
I have no desire to see "Borat." I'd rather see "Talladega(sp) Nights" or "Casino Royale."
The movies I like are mostly kind of odd.
We rented Metropolis at Thanksgiving- a 1920's silent film masterpiece about life in the "future" (2026!) in a world where humans are divided into two separate groups- workers and thinkers. It was great. We also rented some old Jason & The Golden Fleece and Seventh Voyage of Sinbad- so bad they are now good, and the claymation work is still impressive after all these years.
I like movies like EraserHead, and John Waters, Cohen Bros., and Russ Meyers movies. I do like sentimental black and white 1940's movies. Also new independent movies- we saw The Lives of Others at our little town's film fest a few months ago, talk about a great film, and it just got picked as best film of the year in Europe. Also liked Penelope Cruz and the women's cast of Volver, another prize winner.
We don't watch tv, and I'm always clueless when people talk about tv shows or tv actors. We only have a tv in order to watch the movies we rent a couple of times a month. It's always dusty.
I don't watch TV at all anymore either. 'Course I don't have time because I'm always on my comptuer...:)
Does anyone have any toothpicks I could stick on my eye lids? Oh dear...I think i had a smidgen bit of sunstroke yesterday...:( and am still a bit knackered this afternoon.
URHG...but it was so much fun watching the Ironman yesterday.
SOme folks out there REALLY need to learn how to corner properly....!!!!! At least no one ran me over!!!
Now I have this silly thought of entering the 1/2 IM in busso next may in a team...Now all i need is a person for the swim leg! Anyone up for a tri vacation to Western Australia? It won't be too hot then..not like yesterday...
I'll update my volunteer report when i get home tonight. No pics though..sorry
Ciao kids.
KG:Congratulations! I'm so happy for you.
Well...I'm off to the Dominican. X, Kit, take notes for me so I can catch up when I get back.
Tootles!
IRonically, now I have hiccups and sticking my fingers between my ribs
isn't helping. sigh..
you probably have to be a pt before you can figure out just how to do it.
Eat one teaspoon of white sugar and they'll be gone.
b
Yeah, the teaspoon of white sugar really does help.
The pressure points aren't between your ribs so much as right at the sternum where the ribs attach. (well, between where the ribs attach)
Still have a sore lower back / right hip. It is so annoying because I just got my trainer all set up and rode it 3 times, then borrowed a Spinerval tape 2.0 Time Trial to try out. Now I think I should probably be off the bike until the pain is totally gone. Hope that's soon. DH (or should I call him "F"? - for fiance - haha) thinks I should ride a little and work it out. I'm afraid to in case I set myself back even longer. Argh.
Trek, you already know my thoughts on yesterday. Thanks for wearing the AV gear for us at the memorial. We certainly were by your side out there dear. I wore the Jenny shirt under all my layers today to remember Kathy on our ride. *raising my glass* To both ladies who were taken too young and tragically on their bikes.
Salsa - I'm ok. Getting better everyday too. Thanks.
*Ahem* You're "coming out" with another gal to ride who? Ahem, nobody tells me anything around here. Hmmm, well I guess I better get a ticket too if I'm supposed to participate. Or is this to be the over-the-phone type of ride? (That was way too easy.) You dared to go there, so you asked for it. ;) Welcome to TD. (No one is safe, no one.) Have a nice trip. Can't wait for you to read this one in a week. :D Oh, and yes, resistance is futile. (Especially when you call me out like that.)
First off, it was great meeting and riding with GypsyAngel today. Very nice lady. Hope we can get together more in the future.
I decided to keep those kinds of pics for my own purposes. My next coffee table book shall be titled "Helmet hair and you. It's ok, you're ok."
Wha? Me tired? No way, hon. Actually, I stopped by to visit my Mom on my way home. Then went looking for xmas bikes for the nieces again. Ran into bro there and hung out a bit. Came home and did a load of laundry, cleaned the kitchen after someone left it a sight today :(, ran the dishes through a cleaning, took a shower, tested the hot tub water and added some chemicals, swept the patio cuz it bugged me, cooked a meal. (Never got the pasta for lunch so I made spaghetti. Oh good batch, lots of mushrooms and fresh garlic bread. Yum.) IM'd with a couple of people, answered my emails and now am posting. Just unloaded the Jeep. Still have to clean and lube and reassemble my bike. I think that will wait until tomorrow tho. It's now 1:05 am. :D
Ya hammerhead!! Just check you out today with the 2+ mph gain from last time and a longer ride to boot. After coming in 3rd in a 5K the day before. You woman you! Woohoo!! :D
OK not a word. But you'd have liked it, really. :D I guess have a nice, quiet night then instead, hon. :)
CWR - I miss you terribly. Hope you are having a great time and everything is ok. (((CWR)))
KG - This one is all for you. Congrats!
THE CHAPEL OF LOVE (Dixie Cups)
Spring is here
The sky is blue
(whoa-whoa-whoa)
Birds all sing
As if they knew
Today's the day
We'll say I do
And we'll never be lonely anymore
Because we're
Goin' to the chapel and we're
Gonna get married
Goin' to the chapel and we're
Gonna get married
Gee, I really love you and we're
Gonna get married
Goin' to the chapel of love
Bells will ring
The sun will shine
(whoa-whoa-whoa)
I'll be his and
He'll be mine
We'll love until
The end of time
And we'll never be lonely anymore
Because we're
Goin' to the chapel and we're
Gonna get married
Goin' to the chapel and we're
Gonna get married
Gee, I really love you and we're
Gonna get married
Goin' to the chapel of love
Well, that's all I have time for tonight. I think I'm heading out to the patio for a dip. Still got chills inside from today I guess.
'night TD.
X.
Ah shucks X, thanks. :) Funny thing is, that's one of the songs Erik and I are singing together in the 50's musical we're rehearsing for right now. That, and "Dream." Sigh....
I would rather have a venomous snake bite out both eyeballs than have to sit through Talledega Nights again. That is the worst movie ever!! EVER!!
White sugar works for me, too. Or peanut butter. Or drink ten swallows of water and hold my breath for ten seconds. Or take a drink of water and spell my name backwards before swallowing it.
Nanci
KG - Dream... by the Everly Brothers? Another great classic. (I saw them locally when I was a teen. Still sounded like they did when they were younger.) So what's the play about and what characters are you two portraying?
AG - Safe trip to ya and have a blast. Oh, yeah almost forgot... ;) :D
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ALLEZGIRL!!!!
Nanci - I agree on the Talladega Nights movie. The kind of movie that makes you dumber for having watched it. I usually like Will Farrell but this one came up way short with me. Even drunk it sucks.
Last night I bought the animated movie Cars on my way home and watched it while doing a million other things. First saw it in the theatre with some nieces and then with J. Very cool little flick. If you need a Nascar fix, go with this one next time.
I love Pixar stuff. Even though I adore Toy Story, The Incredibles is still my favorite from them. Intelligent storylines, subtly placed tangents and undertones, inventive elements designed into the backround and they are by far the most elite animation team in the business. All time favorite (animated) is still Snow White though. Untouchable.
Well, gotta go clean up the bike from yesterday. Then reassemble her. No hitch for the Jeep yet, so no rack. Tough one figuring out how to fit her in the back safe and secure without getting chain grease on everything. (She got to be the first one to ride upside-down in that Jeep. Darn, I was hoping for that honor. Oh well, 'next' is a good place too. :o :D)
Hope you all have a glorious day.
X.
