I've always been the same way. I also come from a long line of women who nap. One of my grandmothers actually took off her clothes and put on her nightgown for her nap!
I haven't been getting 8 hours at night for a long time, mainly because I just didn't want to go to sleep early enough to do that. But since I joined spark people I have been making myself get 8 hours and I feel SO much better, and haven't suffering from so much exhaustion during the day that I have to nap. (Although I always hit that point in day where I'm tired and want one; but if I don't get one, it doesn't kill me.)
So I'm now a believer in making time for my night's sleep, even when I'd rather not.
