I'm guilty of being one of the "headed out earlier" group. Last year was the first time I did the ride and I was not familiar with the course. When I saw how many people were there, I got a little worried and decided not to wait and meet everyone.Quote:

Be aware that there is LOTS of traffic. Last year I think there were 2,200 riders. This year the limit is 2,500. There was a big traffic jam getting in the parking lot. I think I am going to stay in Pleasanton Friday night. It is 2 miles from the starting point. I'll just ride my bike to the start and try to avoid the bumper-to-bumper problem.
