"I hope the peloton takes it easy so I have a chance to look at the sights..." Paolo Bettini
IFJane, maybe Jobob got a picture, but on the 2nd KOM Paolo was 2nd from end lolly-gagging along in the tea party back there. He was definitely seeing the sights.
I have a question, maybe I missed something, but why is George H. wearing USA Colors as is his bike instead of the Discovery kit.
I also want to say that the pics all of you are taking are great and very much appreciated from me here on the East coast. I have been watching and of course tonights stage will be recorded because of how late it is airing. The scenery in CA is stunning and every city that they are riding through is truely amazing. I really hope to take a cycling vacation in your neck of the woods.
Again, thanks for all the great pics and reports!!!

George is the current USA Road Racing champion, which entitles him to wear the stars and stripes jersey in road races (you'll notice that he goes back to his plain Disco kit for TT's) He'll get to wear the jersey all year until the next USPro championship (road) race when he'll either defend or lose the title.
Dave Z is the TT champ
You'll also see Paolo Bettini wearing a white kit with rainbow bands - That is to indicate that he is the world road race champion. If you've ever had this title I believe you get to wear rainbow bands in some form (like on your sock) for the rest of your career.
Thanks for the clue, Regina!
Another sighting... My husband had a meeting this morning at the Hotel DeAnza in San Jose, and as he was walking into the lobby, who turns around right in front of him but Floyd! He called me after his meeting to tell me. Of course, I asked if he talked to Floyd, but he said no. Floyd seemed to be leaving in a hurry, so Blaine didn't want to bug him. Shoot!
Thanks Eden!! I completely missed that about George. Wow, I am happy for him, he is such a great guy.
I'll post pics later, sorry. Yep, I have a fuzzy one of Bettini bringing up the rear (as it were) over the KOM yesterday.
We're off to Sierra Road after all. Hope the weather holds ! :)
Score one for the Bub-meister!!!!!
Awesome!!!!!
Another star crossing: I also forgot to mention that I met Davis Phinney after the awards ceremony. He's looking fit as could be and was very friendly. About 20 years ago at the SF finish of the Coors Classic, I came within five feet of getting his autograph, but he had to leave before I got up to the front of the line. Got it yesterday. ;)

Veronica that pic of the peleton with the ocean behind them is AWESOME! Man, I know you said it's not printing as well... but that is totally frameable!
BikeMomma... I LOVE that Floyd story! :D That's just too funny... he is a nice guy...
dang, I didn't know about the crash...
Thanks - I don't see what Thom sees either. But he's a perfectionist about his photos. I'm glad he doesn't try to do it for a living. :D

Here's another Levi photo, not as exiting as MPs, but he's in Yellow.
Wow great pictures girls. SadieKate you better keep an eye on that buff it might just get mixed up with mine next time we ride or is that one getting framed.:D
I had a great time watching most of todays stage via the internet (much better link today) and I got to see them climb Sierra Road before I had to head out and pick up the kids. Great stuff!!!
