Great pictures! I would love to get a trailer for Shiloh. I think he'd adapt to it fine, but what happens when he sees a squirrel? He'd be out of that trailer so quick!
He does great on the back of a paddle boat, but there are no squirrels on the water.
Shiloh has his first agility class tonight. Well, it's not his first, but it's MY first. He, apparently, is already quite good at agility but I haven't done it with him yet because I have no clue about it. He'll be teaching me, no doubt.
ha, I love Shiloh's ears, they're almost papillon-esque! :)

Shiloh is awesome, just so handsome! I love pictures of dogs sleeping. THe spaniels are too cool.
Yes Koksz is all black, but with really cool tan points in between his toes and through his tail. He might have some dutch shepherd in him ????
I'm not that fond of mending or doing alterations. So when I finally get in the mood to do it, Calypso decides she needs to help...
aw, she's beautiful :)
Helping out the way only cats can! Look, she's holding the material down for you.
No photos (sorry!) but a kitty report and a link:
Lyra is on vacation together with ds and my in-laws at in-laws' cabin in the mountains, and she's having the time of her life. Six mice in the course of the first evening, fourteen in the course of the first two days
I'm thankful she's not much of a bird hunter and is sticking to mice, and according to the biologists I work with there are mice and rats enough to go around for all the predators around here.
But I did a little search just for the heck of it because I'm really bored at work, and look what I found - the CatBib! Looks bizarre, but they say it works.
http://www.catgoods.com/index.html
Do you see the murderous glare in the eyes of those cats? Go ahead and just try to get the cat bib on without finding another kind of "special treat" waiting for you
I admit, I haven't had a cat in many years, but I don't recall my cats ever needing a bib. What's the deal?
I have a couple of messy golden retrievers who could use bibs after drinking water.
The deal is apparently that apart from amusing you and all your neighbours, and putting you in severe danger of your cat never talking to you again, it stops cats from catching birds. Partly because it's large and bright and warns them off, partly because it gets in the way of their final pounce.
I wouldn't have believed it if somebody told me, but there are in fact pictures of 200 (200!!) cats blithely wearing the thing on there.
LOL!!! That's what I get for not looking closer at your link! Who'dve thunk it? Why not just put a bell on the cat's collar? Seems like the ultimate indignity, making kitty wear a device like that. Goes against kitty's natural instincts, too. What if a mean kitty, not wearing a bib, comes after a kitty handicapped by the bib?

OK - Are we going yet?

She's still not quite comfortable riding in it, but she wants to go along with us soooo bad . . . We're getting the hang of it, and I've got the feeling it will get lots of use!
We got this trailer, a Doggyride Mini, from Canine Commuter. I can't say enough about how great they were to work with. If you're looking for any specialty items for dogs, they're well worth checking out. And the trailer is really easy to set up and use. We did learn, though, that you can't go full speed with it - had a tip over on a fast turn - but dog and trailer are both fine (trailer is a little scuffed up, but it happens) -- the handbook does say 15 mph speed limit - should've read all of that first (duh!)

ColoKate, your spaniels are adorable! :)
Here's Vanya, our youngest rescue:

And here's my darling, ancient Tiva, 15 years old but still full of bounce:

And finally, here's Juneau, who sadly died last summer at 15:

Juneau and Tiva were great bike dogs--they could happily lope along beside us on quiet limestone bike trails for 20 to 25 miles if the day wasn't too hot. We live along one of these rail-to-trail conversions, and going for a bike ride was their favorite game. Vanya is young and full of energy, so he has a ski-jor harness and line and sometimes he pulls me on my scooter or hybrid bike. When we see a deer or bear, it gets exciting!
Juneau looks so stately and noble. I can tell she/he was a great dog. Does Tiva miss her?
Whilst watching the ABC arts program tonight, there was info on a young deaf aboriginal kid in Tennant Creek that loves dogs, art & now has a clothing line. It was nice to see some sunshine in such a depressed area. Some of the street doggies look horrible but then again that's a symbol of life in many Aboriginal towns/camps/settlements in Australia. :(

If anyone wants something from the site, let me know. I'm going to contact the company & see how much the things cost.
Earlier this spring I became a proud owner of a rescued sheltie. She's the best dog I could ask for-- and I'm only a dog owner because she exists and found her way to me. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...thinlove-1.gif
Her name is Loki, the Low Key dog. Or the mischief maker. She is both ;)

These are our newest additions. The cocker spaniel is 'Haley' and she's 5 months old and the lab is 'Harrison', she is 8 weeks old.

Very sweet puppies! You are indeed going to have your hands full :)
Hooray! I got mine at Canine Commuter, too, they were good to work with. I love the green! I was too impatient to wait for green, which is what I originally ordered.
Sounds familiar. Boots is doing MUCH better after a few more weeks/rides in the trailer. Getting in is less of a struggle (but still requires a treat), but once she's in she just lies down. Sometimes I have to stop and untangle her so she can poke her head out. My husband and I rode together for 2 or 3 rides and got her used to being snapped in but poking her head out. The last 2 or 3 rides I've done by myself with her and she's done great. Our major accomplishment this week was NO WHINING, no scratching, and no crazy barking as we went by people (you know, "help, help, she's keeping me hostage!"). She was so much calmer when we got done with our ride, no frenetic running around and panting. It felt awesome. We got the mat that goes inside, it's nice and cushy. I haven't put on the rack yet, but hope to soon.
I can feel mine getting unstable at around 16-17mph, so when I'm going downhill I try to take it easy. When I'm pedaling, I try to stay in the 15s - easy on days that aren't windy in the flats, but once we hit any kind of hill OR if it's super windy, my speed drops like a rock. ;) (Resistance training, right?) We take 90 degree turns pretty slowly.
Our next goal is to get into and out of it in the middle of a ride. Then we can go to the dog park or she can run alongside the bike for a while and get back in when we're done (or when we have to cross paths with cars/heavy traffic bike areas).
Another picture (I imagine her asking me to move a little farther to the left):

Love the happy dog! I know I was looking for some water to jump into while roasting at the farmer's market today.

Last year, my daughter found this cat at a baseball field, hungry and skinny. Here he is (Winnie), lounging by the pool. Fat, sassy and very, very loved!

While kayaking today I saw a woman with 2 dogs on her boat. They were both chihuahua-looking, and they had tiny little life jackets on. It was pretty funny.
Nice photos, everyone!
Hey that Boo dog is pretty wild colored- can we see a picture of his topside? he seems so unusual!
