Hello all, I'm home. The Stones were all I expected and more! I'm still giddy as a school girl - we screamed, we sang, we danced - awesome!
Las Vegas is bizarrely wonderful. I want to go back and catch some of the shows. And see Prince.
I need to sleep now - sooooo tired!
It sounds wrong to me too. :) Wow so many colour/patterns to choose from! I'm partial to anything blue myself. I liked the Dolomitas Blue and the Sargan Azafata. Actually I liked a lot more than that. Good luck in finding one you like. Can you wear it under a helmet?
Yes, there is a discussion somewhere (helpful I am not), about keeping ears warm while biking and the majority recommended Buffs. So many to choose from.
I am drawn to Scully, I have no idea why. If it was a painting, it would match my living room.

CC, I have never quite grasped cricket even after having my British sister in law explain it. I love to watch it briefly but I don't really get it yet. Mr. Salsa gets it, but we are still football (not American football) fans first. My failing, I'm sure. I love the look of cricket so expect I'd like it if I got "viewer-coached" through a game.
Not all massages are created equal, and different people need different kinds, too. I have fibromyalgia, and massages that push and prod hard will set the muscle pain off and make things much worse. I have to find someone who understands myofascial massage before I'll get one (slow heavy pressure that stretches the muscles instead of jabbing at them).
CWR, spa days are the best. Let us know how it went. Glad you're getting some creature comforts.
Mimi, I love roasted chestnuts more than anything. I had them every day when I did a three-month internship in Geneva, and I still miss them.
Nanci, I love the Choco's-falling game! I can SEE it and hear it as you describe it. Poor Addy, though. I like hearing about your garden and your path because our yard, which used to have lots of flowers, is a total moonscape from the construction. It'll get redone, but right now it's just desolate, so keep that garden talk coming. Love the hummingbird moth story!
I love the Talking Heads. The coolest New Wave band in the 80s. Mr. Salsa and I fell in love to the Talking Heads. As maid of honor at my sister's wedding in the late 80s/early 90s (who remembers...), my toast was a quote from a Talking Heads song ("Out of all those kinds of people, you've got a face with a view...").
No matter what, Nanci, it'll be okay, and even good. Early Happy Birthday to you.

Thanks for the Buff suggestions. When I briefly lived in the USSR I wore scarves all the time, I still have them, but they are definitely not wicking or breathable, but very, very warm. I almost pulled one out last night to run with, to keep my nose and mouth warm. Unfortunately, when the scarves get moist they freeze. So, buff it is.

spokewench i am down in phoenix right now. i'm here till weds morning then i fly back up to alaska.
the spa day went well. i was able to relax during the facial and massage. funny how this massage was completely different from the other one. i guess i got all the bad kinks worked out with the first one. that and totally different therapist who has a completely different technique. the mani and pedi with the girl i use to work with was a blast. got caught up on all the salon gossip. gotta love it. tomorrow i get my hair done. woo hoo! total makeover, well kinda.

CyclChyk - how can you handle McD's? The only sandwich I can tolerate is the fish and then only plain. Didn't like their burgers as a kid either. Blech.
As far as massage, I have 2 SIL's that are massage therapists and have taught me loads. I'm much better at giving them now and can go for over an hour straight without even thinking about it. No complaints yet. My tech mentors from school used to line up. (Did I mention I got straight A's in clinicals? ;)) Anyway, between the 2 of them, I get free ones anytime I need 'em. At home, I don't leave it up for discussion.

BMo3 - thumb is better, thanks. Stopped hurting so much today. I soaked the bandage off (cold water) and rewrapped it. As much as I have to wash my hands all day, I'm surprsed it's not worse tonight. BTW, Nanci's b-day is on the 18th. (I got it this time, right Nanci? :o ) Friend went home today. I stopped by on my way home from work and got her settled in. She made me sing her a bedtime song. **shaking head** I'm such a sucker for sick people.

Snap, what a blast. The Stones are the collective Portrait of Dorian Gray. I don't know how they've survived all the stuff they've done and yet they seem to just go on and on. Mick's dad just died at age 93, so I expect Mick got some good longevity genes. What was your favorite thing in Vegas besides them?
