X - don't know who your masseuse is but he/she is definately not like any I have ever had. I've had about 3 massages and they have all sucked.
I'm feeling cheated now and a little jealous.....

I used to get a massage once every two weeks - so nice. Sometimes they were a bit painful though if I had a lot of knots to work out, mostly it was all good. I'm going for one tomorrow, first time in over a year I think. I'm going to tell her I want a relaxation massage only.
Found a way to lose that last pesky pound, plus an additional three, all in one evening. Stomach bug. So fun. I am bagged now but feeling slightly more human this morning. Hope I can go to work tomorrow....
X - LOVE Dreamweaver. I can hear it in my head now. Thank you. :D
Lisa - I love the warning sign. Too funny. My second favourite is the car that has two wheels off the ground....
Well I was gone in the Grand Canyon for three days and I don't have too much time to read the Thread today - need to get some work done -
Trek and Knot: I'm glad that you had each other today after your loss this week. So sad, but I think you will find more sympathic and supportive people than the opposite!
You can see my report on the grand canyon backpacking trip under Other Sports thread!
Got to go back to work now!

Wow it's quiet. Kit must be working:D Hope your day is going well Kit!
Spokewrench, what a great trip! Glad to hear you conquered your fear of heights and enjoyed it. Now we need some pix girl...
Guess my lower back isn't better yet. I went for a run at lunch and made it about 3 minutes into it again then BAM! Like a sucker punch to the calf the knot was back (a trigger point from a back problem). This is getting so old. I really wanted to do a 5K on the 26th and I can't run for more than 3 minutes at a stretch before I'm in agony. Nice. What a sucky year this has been for this old body.
A friend of mine wants to be a life/physical fitness coach. I think I've talked him into using me for a guinea pig on the physical fitness side of it. We're gonna talk later on it but it would be a big help for me.
BMO3, how do you find time to work out with little ones at home? Any other single moms out here with little ones that are challanged on finding time to commit to working out?
chyk if you you haven't gotten a good massage your missing out. i'll admit out of all the therapists i know, i'm VERY picky. i'll let you know how the one today goes. doubt if it will be as good as saturday's.
kelownagirl hope your feeling better. i know how not eating goes. i've been feeling bla lately and haven't been able to eat but i swear i lost a few lbs!
X don't work to hard.
kit (wow it is quiet without her good point dar) hope your first day went good.
dar hope your feeling better. i hate back pain. it wears you out too, unlike any other pain.

speaking of cool bike photos
boy, found another custom bike builder in Seattle! It is amazing how many there are! anyone ever hear of these guys?
I wish i had a friend that wanted to be my coach. lucky MTBdarby!
X, thanks for the laughs. darwin, indeed!
My head is still kind of spinning and i am back to my first day of work post-vacation. I know where i'd rather be. Lucky for me, my cousins gave me lots of chestnuts to snack on (they are already baked)
and each time i eat one, i think of my cousins.
I like massages too. Have paid for them a few times, and except for once, they were very therapeutic.
mtbdarby - I have an almost 9 year old son at home and I do find it hard to get out to ride sometimes. I'm a teacher and he goes to daycare after school most days so I often ride once or twice a week right after school. On the weekends he's at his dad's so I can ride / exercise then too. It was actually the summertime that I found it most difficult because he and I were both home all day. In another year or so, he'll be old enough to ride with us when we mtbike and eventually join us roadbiking, but probably not until he's a lot older. I used to belong to a gym and had the same problem so now I do all my other fitness/weight stuff at home, anytime I want.
Still feeling very weak. Had a shower and thoughd I'd faint. Going back to sleep for awhile I think...
CWR - I miss the bears:( Good for you on the swim. All this tri talk around here has me wanting to try and swim again. Once upon a time, long, long ago, I used to be lifeguard certified. But I haven't swam in years.....probably because I don't like being seen in a swimsuit:rolleyes:
Kelown, hope you're feeling better soon. I know what you mean. I'm buying him a tagalong in the spring so he can come on rides with me. But it raises the center of gravity so much I'm afraid to use it with my road bike. I'll have to hook it to my mountain bike and ride that on the road.
Called my chiro. He says something is pinching in the L5/L6 area and instead of feeling back pain (it's tight but no pain), the pain is showing up in my calf (trigger point). The jarring/impact from running is causing the pinching. So no running for a bit - more biking:p And chiro bills:(
i'll put them back up for you dar in a few days. right now i need extra strength from my good friend rosie.
Kit- I hope your first day at your new job is going smoothly.
X- I am sorry about your thumb. :( Is it any better today? How is your friend doing?
CyclChyk- You definitely have been cheated on your massages. A really well done massage is worth wonderful. (where is the drooling smilie)
CWR- Enjoy your spa day. You need extra strength for your friend? I missed something. I hope all is going to be okay.
Dar- Please send the snow to me. I need snow. I will be forty in June '09, so a little less than 3 years. How do I stay motivated? I am very focused, always have been, except those years after giving birth when I kept the pregnancy weight on. I did not become truly focused again on my well being until Jan '05, my boys were old enough and I was way too out of shape. I quit teaching (YAY) found peace and balance again and completely changed my lifestyle. No way am I going back or regaining the weight it took a 1 1/2 to get off-slow and steady-the weight stays off that way. :) I cannot really explain my focus other than it is an internal drive to constantly be better. I am not competitive in anything or anyone, except myself. I have no clue if I am making any sense. How do I find time to workout? I am now, thankfully, a SAHM. I exercise at home-I really hate gyms. I will need to go when I am cleared to swim, I do not mind pools, just gyms and gym classes. I was not allowed to bike long enough to do any really long trips. Short ones, the boys biked along. I do aerobic body training/weights in the morning and I run at night. Also, my little ones are not quite so little (14, 12, and 12)
I motivate myself better than I think any gym class/personal trainer could. I do not work and play well with others. :p
Take care of your back. It sounds dreadfully painful. :(
Spokewench- Welcome back! :)
Kelownagirl-I am so sorry you are sick. Get lots of rest and feel better soon.
I just figured out how to solve everyones delimnas - margharitas and massages...!!
Ok so maybe that would just solve mine but it sure sounded good....
(CWR - love your tag line - expecially the "oohra!" at the end!)
What is up with everyone being all sick or injured?? A good thing to carry with you on your bike, on long rides, BTW is Pepto Bismol tablets, because it sucks to really need them and not find them in a convenience store!
One of the downsides of having a flock of doves sleep in your tree is the state of your windshield the next morning, I discovered.
My dang snake wouldn't eat toad-urine scented mice, so now she's trying chicken broth-scented mice. This is getting tiresome. I love her, but I wish she would cooperate a little more. I feel like just buying one that "works."
Two more days till I should feed Inez. Then 48 hours after that I can handle her! At least she doesn't whisk into hiding the second she sees me any more.
Lise, did you get that movie yet? I am thinking of getting it for BF for Christmas.
What exactly does Pepto Bismol fix anyway? I really want to know because when we were kids and had stomach aches, we knew that Pepto would make us throw up and then we'd feel better. That's how it worked for us, but not sure that's how it's SUPPOSED to work?? A few weeks ago I got upset cramps during my ride and had to keep sitting on the side of the road every couple of miles- barely made it home. Unusual for me.
I don't blame her, I wouldn't eat toad-urine scented mice either.
One that "works"- I like that concept! (and did you remember to plug her in? ...better check that first)
